Great video and I agree these daily habits can change our life. The two that changed my life the most are meditation and switching my phone off a hour before I go to sleep.
Organic always tastes better. I make my compost with only leaves and kitchen wastes that grind up in garbage disposal. It takes only 1 month to make compost with this method in a rotating compost drum that I build. In US many people don't do garden and most don't have animals stock. They don't even compost either as they rather go buy from Home Depot costly chemical fertilizer. They don't know that they already have everything at home to make organic compost and tea or simply lazy not to do it. I grow everything with home made organic compost from kitchen wastes and leaves. No soil is even needed. Grow just fine. I always have pots of ginger, shallot and garlic to use for cooking. Taste great with flavor always with organic grow. What you show will work just that in USA majority of homes don't have straws and chicken compost and lazy people. I live in FL so I know intimately. I do my own way it works. I will never use chemical fertilizer again. Thanks for the video. I learn not to plant too deep. BTW instead of straw I use dry banana leaves. Thumb up for your good video!
Thank you for your wonderful video instruction. I am an organic farmer growing Asian vegetables in New York. It is very difficult to find the type of shallots you grow here. Can you recommend a variety name or seed company?
When planting French Red Shallots do you split the bulb into individual cloves and plant this much like you would garlic, or do you plant the whole bulb?
I like your new normal way..simple way of life..freedom to live from all city worries..eating healthy organic foods..here people suffer everyday thinking how to pay off bills..i wish i could come and live with you or live in your way..waiting for your next video..people are worried about market crash..watching your videos tells life is not in market crash
Hello Jon and thank You for all the info You give to Us. I recently bought 20 acres and am moving there Saturday to start a new life. I am planning on doing a water filtration system and hopefully I can build a pond. I will continue watching Your videos. God bless You and Your Family.
Hi John, I have some shallot seedlings that have not split, a friend gave me some he grew from seed, I would like to know how I replant these? how deep? Also I have grown some little Asian purple ones just as you show in this video, how long before I can replant from these as I’m trying to multiply my crop, 🙏
@@JonJandaiLifeisEasy no worries, love these videos. Have been learning a lot, just ordered some wood vinegar to use in the garden hoping it will keep the bugs away
@@honeybadger8942 i will try that. Usually i put chili in full sun. And its not doing well. Thank you for the advice. I also gonna watch his other videos.
Interesting that, isn't it? I guess we are all at different stages of learning. My innerstanding is that, like with everything, its all going to come down to balance and centering. So the TILL or NO TILL "argument" will be that neither is right or wrong
@@XiShack I hear you. When I dig my potatoes, I’m tilling! That’s the only way I can get the spuds out of the ground... even using the Ruth Stout methodology, I still have to root around in the soil a bit. Perhaps my biggest reason for practicing no-till is my desire to help protect the Polar Ice Caps. That begins with protecting the microbial soil life by not disturbing the soil surface, and that ensures all the plant sequestered carbon stays in the soil. It’s a very symbiotic relationship, and it saves my aging back too LOL. Garden on sir!
It depend on the kind of soil. Gardening technique is depend on soil water and plant. There is no technique can work well everywhere. In some area I use Fukuoka technique but some place doesn't work. What we need is experiment and observe .
@@JonJandaiLifeisEasy being an observant gardener/farmer is sooooo important. You obviously live and work in a very different environment that I do. Right now my garden is hibernating under the snow... come on spring!!! Thanks for your response.
