Just like a lot of the new disney star wars music, outside the movies, which this orchestra needs to play, like Sabine's theme, Thrawn, Omega, Bad batch, Jedi/survivor, BOBF, Ahsoka's theme, Mara Jade's theme, and so much more.
Amazing piece. It's a shame a lot of people won't click on it because it's from a children's movie, but what we get here is one of the most epic performances like Hans Zimmer and John Williams had a baby and that baby just consumed 5 espressos and then sat down to write music.
Have you forgotten just how influential this franchise is? It’s well over a decade old, and it’s touched the hearts of people of all ages. That’s usually what happens when Dreamworks knocks something out of the park.
Yes they do. No orchestra can play this live, and match the recording. The timing is way to staccato, the brass way too rough, and the sound quality just way worse for some reason, but again, never heard a good live version of this, so not their fault.
@@ncard00 Have you ever actually been to an orchestral concert? I've been to several including one with this very orchestra, and I can tell you that the reason you think the sound isn't as good as the recording, is probably because your ears have grown accustomed to processed audio. This sounds phenomenal by any standards, so to say they disappoint is a reflection on your poor perception of what orchestral music is supposed to sound like.
Christian Schumann is fantastic. I remeber seeing the Fantasymphony 2 live and at the end of "Double Trouble" he had so much energy he literally leaped forward into the last 2 beats (like chasse).
@@autisticcormorant6881 ??? It rewatched it about a week ago on DRTV and they definetly played it. We are both talking about "Double Trouble" by John Williams, right?
You know how brilliant an orchestra… and how powerful a piece of music… when I can sit in my bedroom with nothing more than an ipad with bad sound… and still have tears pouring from my eyes and streaming down my face because I’m so deeply moved. If I had to ever attend one of these LIVE shows (bucket list dream of mine)… I think I’d be a gibbering wreck!!!
As a middle-aged man, How to Train Your Dragon is one of my all-time favorite movies, and one of the reasons is this soundtrack. Beautiful composition and execution.
The soundtrack from the httyd is in my opinion the most genius soundtrack I've ever heard. The music tells so much of the story with its individual parts that come together at just the right moments. For those interested I recommend checking out the many videos discussing "Test Drive" and how Hiccups and Toothless's theme come together when they finally learn to work with each other. Its amazing what music can say if you just listen.
Oh fs. "Test Drive" and "Astrid's Theme" are better than anything else I've ever heard. HTTYD is on-par with Williams in a lot of places, and I unirnocally would rather play or listen to "Test Drive" over "STAR WARS" or "Jurassic Park"
One of those rare occasions when you’re grateful for something UA-cam recommends. The HtTYD films and books have a special place in our family, and this is an epic version of some of the music from the film!
4:29 this part gives me a such a rush and don't know why, it's amazing, and then how it evolves to the same melody but higher and with more force than before. So amazing this soundtrack!
it’s a strange feeling knowing that you’ve spent so many weeks or months perfecting a piece only for it to be finished in 5 minutes, beautifully played and I enjoyed listening and watching how each instrument was incorporated. such a beautiful piece 💛
Please play some Anime music, like Naruto, Unravel orchestral version, spirited away, death note, and so much more, so much beautiful, emotional and epic music there.
I know now why I love this music so much. Apart from the fact that it is just fantastically beautiful, it also sounds akin to The Legend of Zelda! It just wakes so many memories in me.
Finally, don't forget all the others that make the whole construction so beautiful and unique. DNSO are incredibly talented, but so are the light and sound people, producer and camera people. I get so happy when things succeed so well 🤗🎵👏
that was so good! every single person in this group is mad talented. The lows were booming, the highs were floating and glorious. The percussion was in sync and everyrhing just WORKED!
look how happy Jakob Weber is - finally normal instruments like the others, no chains, no anvil, no what-ever-they-come-up-with, normal instruments :-)
Actually, Weber loves his toys. DR borrowed the original sheets from John Williams to play "Slave Children's crussade" in their Raiders of the symphony-concert, with chains, anvil and more, requested by Jakob Weber.
I love How To Train Your Dragon movies, one of my favorite trilogy ever, from DreamWorks and I'm lookin forward seeing the live action version next year
I listen to this soundtrack ALL the time. ❤ I would absolutely love the opportunity to hear it live in concert!! (Side note: The title of the video did not mention "Romantic Flight" which is the 2nd song played.)
One of the greatest and most underrated soundtracks of all time

Its good but imo kung fu panda and pirrates of caribbean is much way better
Underrated? Where? By whom? Everyone knows and loves this

Fantastic baby espresso reference. I'd like to add some wholeheartness to it :)
The score of the movies is one of the best examples on how to use music themes in film composing.

Apt way to put it 😂
True...😢
The Danish National Symphony Orchestra never dissapoints!!!❤
Exactly
La mejor orquesta! ♡♡♡♡

There's nothing quite like listening to this soundtrack played live. One of the most outstanding pieces of music ever composed.
The joy on the conductor's face at 5:20 ❤

He looks young enough to have grown up watching the movie ❤
2:02 She has prepared her whole life to play the best part of the song for the world to listen to.
5:10 and onward is enough for any grown man to shed a tear.
Facts
facts bro my whole childhood in that part right there gave me chills

A brilliant score for one of the greatest animation flicks ever made.

HTTYD is my all time favourite movie score. I think it’s so apt for a Danish orchestra to play it too, since, well, they’re descended from Vikings 😂
Bravo! What a brilliant rendition (especially he horn section)!!!
i've goosebumps, awesome people playing an amazing masterpiece. luve u
It's just Magnific, Beautiful, i don't have the words but I have skys in the eyes
Perfect, I remember watching the movie with my nephews, thank you for sharing, stunning orchestral music :)
The cimbasso, contrabassoon, contrabass clarinet, and bass trombone caught my eye.
Man what a epic delivery! Much Love 🇧🇩
Llevaba meses esperando este tema y no defraudaron 🙌🔝❤
What a banger of a soundtrack! Absolutely loved it. Small nitpick: the title of the movie is How to train your dragon. Singular, not plural.
Love this orchestra
Once saw the movie Gladiator with a live orchestra, was fricken amazing. I'd love to have the same with How to Train Your Dragon. A great performance.
FINALLY!!! This one is what i have been waiting for from The Danish Orches!!! Thank youuuuu, please do more music from the animated moviess!

Excelente!
I can picture Hiccup and Toothless doing their aerial acrobatics, what a sound!
There was absolutely no reason for John Powell to go this hard composing this soundtrack. But he did. And God bless him for it.
All in favor of this being the greatest soundtrack ever!
This was epic!!!
I've been waiting for you guys to do this!!!!!
