I think it's specifically about girls. Or, at least, aimed at women. Women truly believe that men do not have issues with self-image. That blew my mind to learn as I got older. I feel everything y'all feel. Except we can't wear makeup. I think masculinity was invented to help validate the single paycheck household. The idea that they are like a work horse machine that cannot stop working or show sings of instability.
