- This one was modernized. It used to look identical to the West elevator.. This elevator had the cab and fixtures redone, however the motor and controller sound just like the original so I believe they were untouched. I LOVE the sound of this motor! I am typically against modernizations, but D-C elevator did a good job on this one. • Vintage 1967 Dover Hyd... is what it looked like before modernization. both elevators were identical. The reason this elevator goes slower down, is because that is probably how the University wants it. They can speed the elevator up both directions, but because it is a hydraulic elevator, the up tends to be faster, because during the winter months the oil is colder and thicker. After an elevator has moved a number of times, the oil thins and the elevator moves faster up. D-C Elevator is a great company for service, they are very knowledgeable at what they are doing. Be glad they did...
That is an EPIC motor.
Amazing F-sharp pitched motor!
sounds like the broadcast emergency alert system
I agree owen
I know the elevator business well, when doing modifications on an elevator the company tries to keep the working parts, but make the elevator up top code. It is probably a Dover elevator still, the D-C Elevator stamp is just the company that made the modifications. My dad works for this company and has for over 25 years. I worked for a short stint for this company as well. No, Abell does NOT manufacture their elevators, they buy them from a manufacturing company, just like most do.
Interesting, funny, weird, and cool floor passing chime
I've never heard that floor signal before....and for some reason I thought those were modernized by Schindler. The direction chime sounds like Schindler.
Hahaha! That floor passing chime made me laugh! :D
One of the worst floor passing chime I've ever heard.
Maybe I'll go to Murray, KY sometimes and see if anything changed with this elevator maybe the floor passing chime fixed and I think the West elevator got modernized too or it's still original.
I love the elevators
Damn straight.
the opening bell when the doors open sounds like the one at school
1:01: OW!!!
That's the strangest floor pass by beep I ever hear
Dover Has came back in 2019
You try to give the video more brightness it will be great if you do
this was on my old crappy camera.
What does D-C stand for?
The name of the company.
Sounds like a fan at a cottage or condo.
HATE THAT FRIKIN FLOOR CHANGER!
I also dont like how they fixed the "Leveling".
..the modification, because they do take pride in what they do. They are a non-union company and are employee owned, so they mess up, they cut their own throats. As for the buzzer, Murray probably ordered the cheaper of the buzzer/dingers, that is why it sounds horrible.
Are those Vandlik?
