The trash talking and rivalry was intense/competitive and in the end Lakers would get the best of them. Robert Horry scoring that clutch last minute shot in the Western Conference finals 2002 was the icing on the cake.

I once watched a fight break out at a college bar between two tackles. One swept an entire table aside with one arm, and they were toe to toe when pretty much the whole bar intervened. When guys this size go at it, it's really something to behold. Side note: Once I was on a huge practice green and just holing everything from everywhere. Mind you the bouncer was 6'4" 280.. he picked up a friend of ours, who's 6'0" 200, with one arm over his shoulder like it was nothing.. When guys this size go at it, it's really something to behold. Side note: Once I was on a huge practice green and just holing everything from everywhere. After a bit I noticed Rick Fox and a buddy watching me. Then I rolled in two thirty footers in a row, looked up at them and smiled. They smiled back and shook their heads. It was a thrill impressing a pro athlete, even if it was just putting.
I have a friend who was going to be the next great D lineman, he played for the best college football program in the country and had 12 sacks, he was drafted by the Broncos.. but knee problems kept him off the field... People would start fights with him and they'd end pretty quick... His strength was unrivaled.. a bouncer tried to choke him out (long story, my friend was in the right), and while he was in a choke, he grabbed both of the guys' arms, and flipped him completely over his head knocking him out... Mind you the bouncer was 6'4" 280.. he picked up a friend of ours, who's 6'0" 200, with one arm over his shoulder like it was nothing.. I can squat about 550 lbs.. and his biceps are as big as my thighs... Luckily he's a super nice guy too.. but you don't wanna piss him off. It takes a lot to.. but once he's there, God help you
@@Magic_Man916 I think there's a little boy in all of us that never dies and remains forever in awe of great physical strength. Once I worked at a hotel, and for a while this bouncer would show up pretty consistently. He was bearded, 6'8", and over 400 pounds. Just a mountain. After a couple visits, I quizzed him why he was there. It was the wife kicking him out. I asked how big was she: 5'1" 110. I laughed and he just grinned sheepishly. After that, it was just, "Yeah, again..." Just really funny.😊

Damn, the NBA was so awesome back then. My squad, The Pistons, on the up and up. The rivalries. People always try to hate on the post MJ years, but when the Lakers won that first of three we all moved on. We all had another team to aim for (and hate). You had so many stars on the up and up or entering their prime. Kobe, Duncan, KG, Dirk (3 all time great power forwards and MVPs!), Shaq still great, T-Mac a totally assassin, Vince Carter jumping over the moon, AI holding worlds on his shoulders, even other greats you don't think of straight away like Ray Allen or Steve Nash, or guys who are forgotten who could ball back then like Baron Davis or Steve Francis, pre-crazy Marbury. It was an awesome time.
