Yessir, it was a good day. My son doesn't get a lot of time to stay on top of it with the three little ones. I am glad to get to come down and give him a bit of a hand on occasion. We got about a third of his pile blocked and split that day.
Hey, good morning mon ami !! I hope you had a great Thanksgiving....wait, do you guys up north celebrate this as a holiday...?? I guess you can tell I'm just another uninformed MidWesterner that doesn't know enough about our northern neighbors. Thanks for stopping in for another visit Dave.
Now some of the 1940's tractors running on a straight pipe makes a little more noise. But this little 4 cylinder Kubota keeps it smooth AND quiet. Thanks for watching. Stop in again sometime.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! Don't need to fast forward a video when you've got a young fella slinging rounds as fast as him! Having a young guy around makes a much easier day for us older guys. 👍👍👍
Now that’s a load of wood for a good week or more! That well engineered splitter just keeps on keepin on! And if I remember, much older Brother built most of it, eh? Are you recovering from yesterday’s Thanksgiving meal? It’s something how you take a bit of each thing and your plate fills up and things still being passed around the table. Like my Grandma used to say, I can chew but I can’t swallow! That’s about it but funny how a few hours later it’s time for gravy plus! Then desert! We are very fortunate to have such abundance and I never take it for granted. So on these words, observations and stupid stuff you see here, I’ll be drippin, tippin and sippin your way in the morning my 44 Buddy and of course, Squeezez! And do remember to pack your tutu in some moth balls for spring! 🚜🚜🚜👍👍👍☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️
Good morning ol buddy. Been busy and no time to upload anything new. We did get a little split for my boy's family though. Two loads, now he's gotta get his boys to throw it in the woodshed !! Yessir, we worked the turkey and stuffing out pretty good on the old splitter for sure. LOL. I slept pretty good that night too. I wonder why. ... take care DaveyJO and enjoy the good hot cuppaJO this morning. I be sippin anna tippin too my friend.
Good Morning Tom. Yes, its the day after the big feast and I'm still feeling the effects of a very overstuffed belly. But boy was it a good time !! I hope all is well with you and Gail. Take care and enjoy the weekend my friend.
@@tooge47 a four way is nice but it’s not for this set up. This is a 28 gpm single stage pump. A 4 way on this set up would stall a 40 hp tractor on just about every burly piece. Now for sure 90% of the normal stuff would be just fine. All the nice straight grain would go through quite nicely. Now a high volume two stage pump would be beneficial and eliminate the stalling of the tractor power units.
Well dang Gator I don't know how I could pass up the invitation. We'll be packing up shortly and heading your way. Listen for the old Orange trucks glass packs coming down the street !!
Good Evening GP !! So good to hear from you my friend. Thank you for the wishes and of course I always forget the Canadians second Monday in October....I think that's right anyway. Man, I just gotta get back over to your channel !!
I know you must be stuck for things to do and projects, but maybe it's time to start thinking about building a conveyor belt. I was thinking that a conveyor would make it somewhat easier to put that split wood into the garage right off the trailer. Bad idea?
I've had my eye open for just the right grain or hay elevator at farm auctions now for years. It's got to the the 'right' one that can be easily adapted for moving wood with little chance of blocking up with small pieces. I ran into one, but it was so far away and much too difficult to transport that far....but I'll find one sooner or later. So your thinking is correct on the matter Reg. But all good things in time.
Yes, it sure is gonna get a little maintenance this winter Mike. You noticed that bit of a rattle I guess. That's some worn bolts on the old bearing assembly that holds the large gear that drives the hydraulic pump. That's the first thing to get some attention. I'm expecting a pump failure one of these days also and have plans for its replacement as well, but not until it fails. Its been pretty flawless since '78 or '79. Just minor stuff so far.
@@tooge47 heck man, we are just getting started in his wood pile. This is approximately a third of what he has blocked and ready for the splitter. Then there’s still the pile of full length logs yet to block.
Hahaha...you're late and I'm later !! Oh yeah had a good time with the family. Hope your holiday season bodes well for you and yours as well my friend.
Having the opportunity to work with the boys is a blessing.
Nice looking pile of wood.
I could heat my shop for a couple years with that much.

Splitting machinery runs smooth and quiet. For me somehow noisy machinery causes stress. Nice teamwork and Nice video

Hot dang, I almost forgot how nice it is to have some young muscle on the business end of the splitter !! Makes a BIG difference for sure.

@@tractorman4461 I have a Swisher 4 way made to slip on and off my Troy Bilt 27 ton. Do NOT use it for burley stuff, just the straight pieces

What type of wood burner does you son run all that wood in ??
It's a Fire Chief forced air with multi speed blower and pleated filter, fully ducted into the regular forced air central system.
if you need THAT much firewood, maybe it's time to MOVE SOUTH !!!!
