I think you’re slightly clipping throughout the entire video. I would be curious to know what gain level you were using since you do have a strong speaking voice. The first device that comes with on-board 32 bit recording and wireless, AND the ability to very easily use each transmitter as a stand-alone recorder, will be the new king.

The noise reduction is extremely effective in reducing background noise. Only problems: The sound is clipping the entire time, plus: somehow the voice sounds muffled and strangely cut off at the first letter of every word. Hard to explain, but I don't like that very much. However: I'd still turn it on if I was in a situation like you simulated, on the road with loud noise. Best way to get your voice across.

Excellent option ! 🔥 the one think I dislike a bit is the big brand name on the transmitters, a flat color or just initials would have been better I guess
You can actually just unscrew the cover and use it without one, no branding at all that way

Fun video once again. If I’m recording with 2 devices, can my sound be just stored in the transmitter or would I have to keep swapping it out between devices?
Love the magnetic clip, its like the insta360 go2. Audio sounded great to be honest. I will probably get something of this sort very soon. Want to bump the production value of my videos very soon when I move to a new house.

the noise reduction sound better on Low than on High or off ! looks nicer than other ! could we use 3 at the same time like a podcast shoot outside ? or would have to record on phone and sync postprod in final cut ?

I genuinely admire all the countries where you can leave a camera on a tripod like that without it being stolen. You definitely couldn't do it in the Czech Republic (at least not in places where there are people around) 😄

I’m curious if the receiver will mount within the stitch line of the Insta360 One RS 1” Leica with their adapter for the Rode wireless Go. I know the DJI one fits.

It definitely sounds off but it does make the sound actually understandable so it’s pretty impressive.
That being said, Adobe’s new Podcast Ai audio thing is so amazing you priobabkg don’t even need that to get clean audio anymore

I know it has the adapter for the iPhone/android but what if I want to plug it in from trrs? Can I monitor the audio AND use trrs at the same time?

Now I need to make a decision, after seeing a few comparisons, I decided to buy a DJI today but the. Along came Teppo with this ‘new’ mic. I liked it. I liked the distance test ✅ The noise reduction test ✅. The cool round / color test ✅. Staying on ect. 1. Question : If you only had one , which one? Also on the noise reduction, On High the sound was a bit muffled. Not a deal killer, I would only use the middle.

As someone who's just starting out on UA-cam, I've been searching for a good microphone, and was weighing the pros and cons of the Rode Wireless Go 2 versus the DJI Mic. But now, thanks to this video, I have another option to consider. It will be tougher to make a decision with so many choices available. 😭

You could easily 3D print out of plastic a small adaptor so you could attach the receiver forward facing.
Teppo, can you put the receiver in the hot shoe backwards so the display faces the vlogger?
An interesting option. Part of me wishes they’d stop making cool stuff. I have the Rode Wireless Go II and it does all I need, but these and the DJI have looked neat. Thanks for the vid man.

I just purchased my unit😂😂😂, like I've been needing a great wireless mic and wanted to get the Dji mics however, it cost too much plus their were have an interference problem which is major for audio, so for this I didn't hesitate plus $30 off code!!!

A question about your receiver mounting criticism. Can you not just mount it backwards on the camera’s hot shoe?

Great video! These are interesting for a competition to the DJI and Rode options. Real quick question, not sure if I missed it? Does it also record internally to the mic like the DJI does? Because for me with the DJI that’s a killer feature, means you don’t need to worry about the mic dropping out, you always have an option for clean audio.
It records internally into the receiver, so you could just hold it in your pocket or something.
@@TeppoHaapoja ah unfortunately that’s not what I’m looking for! The DJI Mics record internally into the mics themselves so should you ever for what ever reason have connection troubles or interference you’re always good as you have a completely clean back up
Just got the M650, pretty sure it records to each mic internally, not the receiver.

@@jockturner1547 Seems like each mic has its own onboard storage. Then you put them into the charging case, close it, and plug it into your computer. The two mics then show up like two separate flash drives, which you can open to access the files like any other drive. Or you can use the AnkerWork software.

That's a nice entry level microphone system. But for the price vs quality, I will stick to my DJI wireless microphone gear. Thanks for the video though 👍
I watched you and your mate Peter and the sound is really sub par, it is so obvious when you change to the talk over mic. How does this compare to a Tascam D-10L? As this is what i am using currently for a walk around mic.
Its a bit difficult to compare a wireless microphone system to shotgun mics :D

@@ilizrdz not sure of what you mean. You get one file for each recorder, so only two devices and two files.
The noise reduction modes sound bad. Like real bad. They sound real artificial and odd. I don’t think noise reduction is necessary anyways because when you cut out all background noise it just sounds out of place. I’m not a fan of the clip being the magnet. If you lose that clip then you have no way of attaching it anymore and they don’t sell them separately. The clip should be part of the mic with the back of it being magnetic like the dji. It also only has 7 hours of onboard memory where as the dji has 14.
I don’t know. I’m sure it’s fine for most things but I like the dji better. It sounds better and is more compact. I like the little rectangle over the round pick design of the ankerwork.
That’s all. Just my two cents.
I hope dbrand makes a skin for these.
Didn't say anything about software or working with the audio files.
This mic's design on the receiver reminds me too much of the DJI system.

Is this the new king of wireless sound? Definitely not. This mic is not for professional use. I will paste here the same comment I posted in another review :
Thanks for your review. I am very curious about this mic but the name Anker on the front of the mic ruins it for me. I couldn't possibly use it in an interview to be broadcast . It would create a problem . TVs don't do free marketing/merchandising. It's also no good if the shooter just wants a cleaner look with no names on the screen. I think it's a big mistake that many companies are making because they are limiting the use of their mics to non professional productions only or whatever people do with Rode, Anker mics. The DJI name is more discreet and maybe it would be acceptable.
I thought to put the clip on the front would be an option seeing that the mic is on the top of the 'button' but the clip also has the name Anker on it! Maybe you can use the mic without the shield with the name on it? Even then, I've just found out something that makes this mic pretty useless for any serious work: The magnetic clip. So how are you going to interview a woman wearing a dress? Are you going go ask her to pass the clip all the way under her dress and then connect it to the mic? This set up is worse than using wired lavaliere mics. It's walking backwards. I have Anker cables.They are super fast. But I will pass on their mics. I am sorry but Ankerwork mic is a really bad choice.
P.S. Do a talking head using that set up of a mic with the wind screen and people will be looking at the mic, not the person's face. Yes, you could connect the transmitter to a wired lavaliere but that is not included so the mic will be much more expensive than it already is.
