Hi Kat lovely stitching with you today. Interesting hearing about being an introvert who likes people but also gets drained. I see myself in those comments. I do like being with people or even going to events but after a while I would be very happy to just sit in the car alone or a corner with a book for a short time. Nice hearing your pet stories. Had an aquarium many years ago and changing the water/ cleaning was obviously from the old advice. But that starting the water LoL was my husband’s job. I was not going to risk getting it wrong.

Oh gosh yes! I used to smuggle books everywhere so that if I got too tired I had a sort of escape hatch and could sneak out back... Sadly my family were not very understanding 🤷‍♀️
Haha, i think it's wise to have someone else start the water for sure! Nowadays I think you can buy a pump to start it off but that seems like ... A really good investment. Maybe I should get one 😂 x

Thanks for sharing those stories with us about your pets, my first pets were gerbils that my uncle gave me, they were called pip and gnasher cos one bit! We had fish when I was a child and a budgie but the gerbils were mine, more gerbils and hamsters came over the years, then cats, and then rescued greyhounds! I only have a cat now and tropical fish. I had Betta fish too but they never lasted long, always ended up dying within a year despite having lovely set ups for them and keeping the water warm and clean. Hope to see your card making at some point, I used to but lack imagination so gave the stuff away yrs ago. Happy stitching!

What a lovely comment, Sharon! 🥰. Thanks for watching! Yes Bettas are very hard to keep alive, which is sad because they have awesome personalities. As long as you aren't another Betta fish, of course. 😂. Have a great week!

You are such a great pet mom! I had a dog growing up. A Lhasa Also named Ginger. I also had a gerbil that escaped it's cage and sadly reached it's demise at the hands (or paws) of Ginger. I was devastated 😭. I think it was Ginger that maneuvered the cage door open but I will never know for sure how the whole incident transpired. I think I'm an extroverted introvert for sure. It was nice spending time stitching with you! I hope your shrimp finds a name soon and enjoys the new tank!

Hi Kat! I have watched you for a while 🙂 but never commented. I really like your vlog style videos and your stitching. Thanks for chatting about living in a foreign country. My husband and I are Americans who moved to Turkey without knowing anyone--and the adjustment has been more difficulty than we ever imagined. It has been hard for us to find connections in the expat community and learning Turkish is really difficult for me. But you have given me hope today, so thank you!! Happy stitching and please update us on your horse purchase 😂

For just a second, I thought I'd actually said I was buying a horse 😂😂😂. Luckily the centre have stopped sending me bills now, though I did have to get a bit firm with them. They didn't seem to understand "it's too expensive" so I opted for "I don't want to ride anymore" instead.
Turkey is quite the move! What's your favourite thing about Turkey now? The sweets? The coffee? The the bathing places? I've never been myself but I would love to go! Turkish is definitely going to be a slog to learn but I'm sure you can accomplish it! Plus imagine how amazed your friends will be if you ever go to a Turkish restaurant and get special treatment for ordering in Turkish. (my friend did that for me once in a Persian restaurant and I was in awe. Slightly less impressive because he's Iranian but still!). Have a great week and I'm so glad you commented! /Kat 🥰

@@KatTalks We love so much about Turkey, including the food, but the people are amazingly hospitable here! We went to pay our monthly flat dues, and we were given Turkish tea and chocolate cake, and a basic conversation with the help of google translate ! The language barrier is very high, but every day we learn a little more! I know you know about learning a foreign language!! So if you ever want to come to Turkey, let me know 😊, and hopefully I will know enough by then 🤣. Glad you were able to get your money back on the horse 😂. Happy stitching, and I will be waiting for your next vlog 🤗

We had a rabbit and a guinea pig which we now know should not have been kept together. They were called Sugar and Spice. They were fine for a while and then one day the rabbit flattened the Guinea pig.

I’m an introvert, people drain me 😂I need alone time! I had a beautiful black cat called Dinkey when I was a child and lots of cats after that,I now have a Boston Terrier called Arnold,he’s more like a child than a pet! I went to a petting zoo before covid and held a skinny Guinea which is a bald Guinea pig,I loved it 🥰 it was hard to walk away! X

Awww I would have trouble leaving too! I went to the petting zoo when we were at the zoo last month but the goats were being fed and were not interested, and there were no smaller animals. Probably for the best or I'd end up coming home with one 😂

Enjoyed your stitch-in Kat! You have great rhythm when stitching and you’re quite speedy with railroading. When I was young we had gerbils then in my late teens we had guinea pigs. My favorite was named Mrs. Brisbee. She had babies as well. They were so cute. But we quickly learned to separate the genders and return the males to the pet store. I’m most definitely an introvert. After work my personal battery is low from all the peopling I have to do. So I usually need time alone to recharge. Did you happen to hear the bird calling while you were stitching, mostly at the beginning. What kind of bird was that? Happy Stitching!

I've always wanted a gerbil! They seem so cute and full of energy. I suppose that's why my dad didn't want one - he already had me, full of energy 😂
I'm afraid I'm not much of a bird call identifier. The odds are, based on position, that it's probably a seagull. We have many many seagulls here 😂. Funny story, there is a gull called "skrattmås", which means "laughing gull". But! It's not the same as the American/English laughing gull - someone came over and got confused and named it the wrong thing 😂😂😂,. Have a great week! 🥰

I'm a hard introvert. Crowd situation really stresses me out and I feel safest in my home which is my recharge space. I think I might have a bit of social anxiety because I really try to avoid getting in contact with people as much as I can. Maybe it's related to how I keep caring what other people would think and how surprising their reactions could be. I hate talking face to face or talking on the phone. Anything that can be done online I'd do them online.
I'm trying to do better but I have to space it out, otherwise I feel exhausted.
JP on the other hand is a social butterfly and he likes conferences and talking to professors and stuff. Sometimes I get dragged into situations and I have to deal with it. I believe once I feel comfortable around people I can be nice to talk to maybe? I don't know... (a bit pretentious if I'm the one saying it ey?)

I also hate being on the phone! Especially an unexpected call *to me* but even making calls can stress me out! Luckily it doesn't seem to be the same problem with work meetings or I'd be a nervous wreck lol, we have tons of them!
I really hope you find a balance between comfort and exploration! It would suck if it kept you away from doing fun things, but I also think it's healthy to have a safety net and time at home to de-stress. My partner, R, is more like you than JP so I'm luckily not the one being forced outside 😂. Poor R!
