      Really like this guy. He seems wise. Like he makes good money obviously getting tipped 10 grand, but isn’t greedy like why can’t I have as much as they have.       Spinach is like $7. $35 for Uber rich truffle mash potatoes, but that serves 2 at best so we dropped 4 on the table.
      Asians on the table? Seafood tower is a cinch. 6 ppl? There’s 2 towers around $300 each.
      Cocktails? wine? How about champagne with shellfish….classic pairing. $500 for a decent vintage. Steak goes with red wine. $3k a bottle, but we’ll need 2 to cover 6 ppl. After dinner scotch? Octomore $100 a shot. Bourbon? Can’t decide? What about a pappy van winkle flight of the 15, 20, & 23 year old.
      This is just a brief summary of what a steakhouse dinner is like.
      It’s obvious you never been to Vegas or were aware CES was held in Vegas. Feel free to look up Menus online, Cut, Delmonicos, Bavettes, Carbone, Golden Steer….

When I work in medicine and Im a doctor that sometimes works 26h shifts im less of a monster then you working your office job, going home and watching tv until you sleep.       Tbh that tip really wasn't all that much if you think about it.
      He said they just made 2 billion plus from doing p much nothing. A 10k tip is 0.0005% of that. If you just made a million dollars, the relative amount of tip would be *5 dollars*. If you got a 10000$ paycheck it would be *5 cents*. It's really not that much, relatively speaking. And given they'll probably classify it as business dinner it's also likely gonna end up as "expense" in their calculation to reduce taxes.

      @@IzzyIkigai that's a huge tip, 20% is what we hope for given we provide excellent service anything above is great. $7000 would be that 20%. Also the higher the bill they are more likely to tip less than the 20%, because in this instance they could tip him 2k and be guilt free because 2k is a ton of money.

      I quit working in kitchens because of the pay gap between front and back of house. All the cooks at the places I've worked at were mostly American and spoke English. I spent years honing my skills cooking just to make shit pay while servers and sommeliers make thousands more.

      Most high end restaurants like that tip out 30-40% to the kitchen staff, don't talk out of your ass. Maybe you were working in some bum ass state in the south that forbids tipping out, but you wouldn't get guests like that in the first place.

      @@josephjackson3249 it really depends on location tho and hourly adds up, like serving isnt hourly by me and the 2 dollars an hour paid gets taken in tax. some days i made 30 an hour some 10. depending how busy and I usually averaged like 18 an hour.
