You put that many people in a confined space, you're going to have issues. If the ships were more spread out and/or had more public space and fewer cabins, there would probably be fewer issues. Also, alcohol may be involved.
I'm proud of you for practicing your self-defense moves. Actually, the footage of the man backing away with his hands up shows a good technique for handling a situation. We were supposed to board at 1:00 pm on a Princess cruise from Valparaiso Chile but did not get to board until 11:00 pm that night. The ship couldn't dock d/t heavy seas. Finally when they did dock it took a while for passengers to disembark. Then instead of embarkation with the regular set up of people getting on at scheduled times, it became a free for all until Princess finally stepped up and shut that down. Then we had to stop the next day down the coast to fuel the ship as it couldn't be done in Valparaiso which in turn made us miss a port. Sailed right past it!
Celebrity about 20 years ago on an Alaskan cruise from San Francisco had delayed boarding. They brought us pizza, cookies and drinks. It was fun waiting. Different times....
Back in April '24 NCL Prima had a crazy late embarkation in Manhattan, BUT they did NOT adjust dining times, did not provide food or water for the entire day, AND ZERO communication. Hellacious start to a cruise.
Maybe that's a drinking game within management. Officials probably take a drink every time a cruise fight breaks out on some other vessel besides their own.
These must be those first time cruisers that Royal is bragging about attracting as they ignore, or better yet go out of their way to tick off loyal ones with more charges for everything, even their casino rewards cruises.
I think you've identified some of the reasons why fights break out onboard. Also, over the years cruising has become less formal, adding more fun activities, and attracting a younger, more varied crowd.
Stress the words "veried crowd." RCL has reached the attraction of the Grayhound Bus days. Unless RCL lightens up on the amusunent bent, they are chasing, and undersireables will become their norm. Just not for us anymore.
@@debraticehurst2583 It is pretty obvious that plan isn't working. It is also obvious that most of these incidents happen in the evenings and are alcohol related. The cruise lines have the data on how many of these people are under the influence when this behaviour goes down...

I had a cruise on the Jade in Jan 26 that was cancelled. Jade was redeployed to San Diego. I was on a cruise leaving out of Tampa that was delayed because of Fog and we didn't get on board until close to midnight, total nightmare. Skipped the next day port of Key West, didn't get any credits or freebies on NCL.
I know someone who went on their first cruise & purchased the drink pkg, he said "first thing I did was order a drink so I can get my monies worth" needless to say he was drunk from noon to midnight. Fighting will continue to happen till someone dies
Cruise ships blame the fighting on drinking, so why do they make so many bars ? They make more bars every time they build another ship . I think after people have so many drinks, make them drink water after .
Absolutely why I NEVER cruise these flea market cruise lines. Not saying a fight can’t break out anywhere at anytime, but never seen one on any of the 31 Disney cruises I’ve been on.
Almost all fights are due to shorter cruises, which are very profitable for Cruise lines but hurt the staff and are cheaper than normal 7 day plus Cruises, It is what it is!!!
I stopped sailing on Carnival because the quality of people seemed to be degrading. I just booked my first Icon of the Seas cruise and am so excited about it, but to see that footage of that woman advancing on that man - no one is talking about the elephant in the room!!!
The Ship Life, with Jay, covered this unruly brawl on ICON well! This ridiculousness lasted over 30minutes and it involved 16-19year olds. I wish you would've looked into this more and shared the facts before posting.
On my last cruise the ship had a technical issue prior to departure, resulting in a delay. There was a woman sitting on top deck telling people that they should be demanding an on-board credit. This finally got to a few guests resulting in a very heated argument, luckily no physical damage. Some people just can't be civilized in public spaces!
Just got back for 8 days on the Horizon and something is going on with the AC. That boat was HOT, as in very hot, especially in the elevators. And those scoters are getting of hand.
Thanks for the update about NCL Dawn and star out of Tampa. We are in Tampa and we were just talking about travel Tuesdays sales and how we wanted to find something close and definitely not Margaritaville.

Imagine spending the money for a royal cruise and wasting it fighting someone on vacation. People are such losers.

I'm bringing Tony along on my next cruise as my bodyguard. Bad guys will flee in terror once he flashes those moves!
lol
Tony, the Flung Doo Master! 😂
Bruce Norris
Thanks for always making me smile. Your humor brightens my day! 😂
Tony is in a mood today and I’m lovin it! Very fired up and in rare form today. Great show

These cruise lines are starting to look like Spirit Airlines! 🤬🤬😡😡
And Frontier!
Walmart
This cruise line is. Two common factors- budget-priced fares and...the other one.

I've been on 11 Carnival cruises and have never seen a fight.
I concur, I was on Carnival twice this year and have cruised with them for the last 25 years and I've never seen a fight or arguement
Don't do shorter than 7 days and you'll be good
11 cruises and still no fight? Sounds like Carnival owes you a ringside seat on the next one! 🥊 Better luck next time! 😂
@@TheMaya69 yep, certain people normally don't pay more for the longer cruises...

John Heald probably led a rousing chant of "it's not us!" at HQ. 😆

Tony is HERE!!!!!
So Royal has a fight on their very expensive new ship and Carnival says hold my beer with a ship boarding passengers at 1 AM. 🤣
I love how you started out today’s news. I needed the laugh and good vibes.
We were on Oasis in November and Royal Caribbean clientele has really changed
The group that was fighting ages were between 15 - 19, per the report from Royal.
It’s not just fight on carnival, it’s the drugs, the unruliness, and the lack of decorum.
It's a budget cruise line. Have to spend more to avoid these things.
Just want to say that I REALLY like your shirt, today. The colors really work for you. 😊
"TRAINING FOR MY NEXT CRUISE" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I refuse to believe that everyone was King Fu fighting, obviously some people were dancing 😂
We watch for your take on the action. Always lots to learn on the lido,
there are at least 3 RCL fight videos going around in the last 6 months,
so its got to do with the cruisers not the line!

Spreading your very good mood today, Tony:) brilliant.
Best opening ever 🎉
I have been on over 15 Carnival cruises never seen a fight!
Tony, you just cracked me in the first 30 seconds of your vid today! Thanks 😂
I will do my 100th cruise next year and have never seen a fight.
Hopefully I haven’t jinxed myself 😳

I wouldn’t consider Royal a flea market cruise line!!
Those moves look very similar to ‘the hurticane!’ Keep up the great work and superior training.
can you imagine what a food fight in the buffet would look like? I'm a pacifist but I would protect the soft serve machine with my life.
😂😂 was one of my favorite things about my one and only cruise!!!!
@susanobrien9917 did you have a food fight, or was it the soft serve?
I have never saw a fight and happy about that

The 19yo Russian young man may have received his military draft notice.
Quite possible! Maybe an escape attempt. To avoid fighting with the North Koreans
Like I posted somewhere else, maybe the people involved on the Royal cruise were banned on Carnival, but Royal didn't get the memo.
Well, there you go 😂

Encyclopedia Brown mystery of the redeploying ships!😆 Classic!
Hit the nail on the head there, Tony .... 'Entitlement'.
I love my port adventure bag!
Funny how all the concern for the people getting on the ship. I feel for those getting off the ship and have a flight home to catch.

Cruise ships are not "the hood." Leave your shenanigans at home people.
ppl just don't know how to behave ... it's ridiculous
Serenade OTS is currently alternating between 5 night Western and 9 night Eastern itineraries out of Tampa. We are on a 9 night on her in February.
My first thought was same as those other cruise lines. Not just us!!
Ban them!! Enough fighting already!!
That's wild, that teen/young man in Russia that jumped off the ship, there were 2-3 people right by him.

The fool who jumped over board should be banned from ALL cruise lines! SELFISH to cause delays because of stupidity!!!!
I believe it was reported he would get $$$ a bill. Emergency services etc. 😮

Yes it makes me so happy to see them fighting and it's not on Carnival. You can call us Walmart all you want but we are the best.

Tony was Kung Foo Fighten!!Awesome You are Everyone’s Protector!! your friends in Canada!!
The only fight I've personally witnessed was on a Royal caribbean ship.
Tony, would you sometime address the removal of libraries from Holland America ships? They are my favorite places!
They took the libraries away and also Lincoln Center Stage. There went the best part of HAL. It’s what set their brand apart.
Holland, under Carnival's umbrella, will continue to be diluted until you won't know the difference.
@ that sickens me.
No crazy stuff on the Icon of the Seas, thanks T. Long way down if you jump off the side. Get you barred if you do....posthumously.
Ever think of organizing a Lego lovers cruise 😅 I love legos and love cruises. Both at the same time would be awesome
Carnival when they found out about the fight, “well I see you too have issues!” Then gave a hardy laugh.
