Hi Chris, I tried so hard studying jazz guitar for years, one day i saw a Barry’s piano lesson, i talk to myself « here is the Key » but i wasn’t able to manage it in my playing. Man you have unlocked everything tks so much for this gift!!!!! It work perfectly and as you say « you feel so comfortable and free with this 5!! ;). Bests
In the video, you said, “every note is triggering me to do something else, some other series of things that I know”. Can you create a video that explains how to connect various ideas (in a systematic way) to form lines?
Great lines! I watched all your videos on the channel. Please help me understand the following. How can you start a line from the second degree on a downbeat? I thought downbeats where chord tones. Ore is it only the landing note that really matters?
Do you have a warm up routine that rotates keys / scale of chords / single notes / standards , as u described before diving into Barry’s inexhaustible pool of knowledge? I manage an hr or so a day , would be good to have some advice there :) its all fun anyways , and happy new yr mate from Australia!
These lessons are so valuable! Bless you. So scale of chords for the dominant 7 diminished and dominant 7b5 diminished. I can't find them in the episodes. The major and minor 6 dim yes, and so beautiful to get under the fingers. Thank you.
@@thingsivelearnedfrombarryh2616 thanks alot covid stop me from taking the trip to NY last year, this will have to do. Also your content as well ! Thanks again !
2:55. Chris quick question, do you remember which episode you played 3 notes and going up a third? i cant remember and ive looked but i cant find it... i love that sound, sounds straight musical:) thanks for your lessons Chris! they are invaluable!

I have to spend more time doing this. I get sick of myself. I'm going to really work on this and all that pretty stuff you've been showing us..

Some of my earlier episodes talking about creating lines include that.
