@@BetaMinusDecay The first time it's played in the film is when Optimus arrives on Earth and proclaims that Megatron must be stopped, no matter the cost, so it's as much his theme as Rodimus Prime's.

I’ve had this figure for about a week and wow! I don’t understand all the gripes about the transformation. Yes it’s complex but it’s a fun transformation. And it looks so good in both modes, you get it down after a couple of times. It’s a solid build and a great value for what it is. Great review, Emgo. Glad I got this.
It’s getting to the point where I can almost perfectly lip sync along with the first two minutes of your videos Em, which I LOVE. Keep doing what you do, as it makes me smile. Thankyou for being you. 👍🏾 Greetings from the UK. Cheers
Wow what a great optimus prime figure. I didn't think it transformed til I decided to watch the video and I'm glad I did. The engineering is amazing and brings back that g1 80s nostalgia to the fullest. Love it :)
The designer (Iron Star) must be some sort of wizard to deliver two completely clean, largely toon accurate modes like that. Destroys the competition in my eyes. Magic Square is too bulky and basically just a modernised MP-10, while MP-44 looks like a panelled mess from every angle bar the front, has a huge backpack and is insultingly overpriced. This is brilliantly engineered and actually looks like the thing it's supposed to represent. I have the first run and there are a few subtle differences to this version. The main ones are the lack of the new head sculpt (but that's currently on its way to me) and the different colour/functionality of the hip and knee ratchets. The original figure has grey hip ratchets and die cast knees, whereas they went with blue nylon for the second batch. There are also more teeth on the newer ratchets, which gives slightly more clicks (an extra one forwards and backwards) on the hips, but I don't think it has much effect on the poseability. I prefer the die cast knees of the first run from an aesthetic view though. The arm ratchets could have done with more teeth as well, although you can cheat those. About the only thing I do miss is thigh rotation, but again it's possible to cheat with the knees. Mine also has a slightly floppy left toe, which was apparently an issue with the first run. It's not really a problem though. I don't get the criticism about complexity either. Sure there are quite a few steps, but nothing at all difficult and at no point does it feel like it's going to break, unlike many figures I've handled (a lot of Fans Toys recent output, for example). Definitely my figure of the year so far and it'll be tough to beat, pound for pound. I like it so much I almost bought a second one, but decided that was lunacy.
Chris Gould You can blame Takara for demoting Hasui and giving the driving seat back to Kobayashi for the panelled mess that is MP-44. But on a side note, at least Kobayashi did give us better articulated MP figures. All in all though, I still rate TE-01 more highly than the upcoming MP-44.
