I agree that Admok is just buying from the same Chinese pen manufacturer as some other providers. Acrylics may differ. I did order a black one, just because I do not have one of these pens in that color and, most importantly, I wanted to get a “M” nib. I do not have any problem, legally or ethically (and I retired as Professor Emeritus of Business ethics and law) in putting out an inexpensive version of a pen I cannot afford (though I have a Pelikan M1000 and several M800s). There are times when I want a different color, or I want to take a less expenses I’ve pen with me on a trip. I once left a holder with 3 of my most expensive fountain pens in a Memphis, Tennessee hotel. By the time I got home (California) and called, even offering a reward, the person who found it, probably not knowing what it was worth, could not confess they had it. I do not travel with any pen I cannot afford to replace! 😂
It's really cool that this channel exists. While I've stopped using fountain pens atm, fountain pen therapy really and truly helped me escape a pretty dark place. Right now I just draw instead instead art galleries don't seem interested in the journals. Regardless, my journals with fountain pen therapy are something I truly cherish.
I've already watched this video once, but I was so focused on the pen that I'm only now noticing how beautifully that ink looks, on that paper! And your handwriting: chef's 💋.
One thing to mention. ADMOK M800 comes with a wrench so you can disassemble it for cleaning. A lot of Pelican pens you are not supposed to disassemble period. I have a Pelican pen. My friend is convinced that this is M200 (I don't remember!) It is a piston filler as well. The only thing I can do with it for cleaning is to take out the nib unit. That's it. So I'm not a big fan of Pelican after that. And therefore I will gladly buy a fairly "cheap knockoff" that actually looks nice and is actually properly serviceable!
Greetings Vincenzo, I am fond of your reviews; they always have an insightful point of view. I personally like my Jinhao 500 as a Pelikan "clone"; it is a converter filling pen, but the nib is buttery smooth è una questione di gusti as you would say! In Peace and Friendship, Pierre Pagé
I have blue black m800 pelikan and want another one brown black. Or that Admok intead 😅 i think you can remove the nib for cleaning just like Pelikan. Love that ink ill get one.
This one is definitely going in my list! I have several Pelikans both new & vintage & my experience with them has been so-so. This will be a great way to try out the M800 size before deciding whether to shell out for the real deal. I am curious, does the Admok "duofold" have a piston filler as well or is it a cartridge converter (couldn't find that specification on the listing)
Thank you for your findings and sharing them. I was surprised about the overall quality and processed materials. As far as it is visible on a video. But still, my inner Jury is still out, buy it or not. Currently I tend to disregard it, based on the retailers hefty price.
I have a Pelikan M800. Lovely pen but I am always looking for new items. This may be a reasonable alternative. If I like it , I just may sell the Pelikan.
@@fountainpentherapy if you are still interested, I will let you know if this pen is worthy of letting go the Pelikan. If you are still interested, I will give you further details.
I really like the pink body -- I found it on Ali Express for about 50 USD. The Schmidt nib is interesting. I enjoy writing with them. I haven't heard of Admok before, it could be another name just incase Pelikan says no no to you. Which they might do, especially if they put their logo in the box. I wish they didn't do that.
Greetings from Australia. Great video. I must have one in my collection. I agree with you. I hate reverse writing portions on pen reviews. It's very annoying.
For those feeling adventurous, consider conducting an instructive experiment: attempt to swap the piston mechanism between the Admok and the Asvine P20 pens. If they fit seamlessly into each other, it could lend credence to the hypothesis that Admok and Asvine share the same manufacturing plant. A vendor has combined a plain black cap and piston knob with a vibrant acrylic body, resulting in a Admok that even more strikingly resembles a Pelikan. However, achieving this look necessitates purchasing two separate pens.
@@Supra_Mare_Cultro_Bloke While external aesthetics are often meticulously replicated to create a familiar appearance, duplicating intricate internal mechanisms seems unnecessary. Most customers base their purchasing decisions on visible features, not the inner workings.
own both. The Pelican delivers superme psychological advantage in 2024. And that is all I can tell. However, I believe the Admok 800 is overpriced for the moment, given just matrtial and maufacturing, it should on par with Asvine P20 under 20 usd.
@@fountainpentherapy i therefore also do not recommand Admok 800 until it takes Pelican nib threads. What is the point to have a random german steel nib on the lavish body of hommage Pelikan M800?

Not a fan. The Pelikan M800 is around 400€ in Germany so I understand that not everyone wants or can spend that kind of money. The Schmidt nib is nice (if it is not a fake as well) but these are not expensive. They cost between 10-15€ in retail and a fraction of that for the pen manufacturer. The ADMOK pen is just a nibholder and therefore I think it is a rather expensive fake. It looks good though.
This is an old debate and the beauty of it all is that no one is forced to buy anything. I search for interesting writing experiences that provide fountain pen therapy at a reasonable price. As I said to another reviewer I have many expensive originals that provide nothing of the sort and vice versa.
