Appreciate the advice of forgiveness to those who hurts us we need peace of mind it improves relationships it's good for our health I love this book so much I learned to forgive and stay happy
Let's get in tune with all the good things around us. Instead of worrying about not having enough, let's focus on what we do have and be grateful for it. Trust that more good things will come our way. Think of life like a river, always moving and changing. When you go with the flow, you're open to new opportunities and experiences. For instance, if a job opportunity doesn't work out, trust that something better is coming your way.
How do you forgive and not hold grudges when the people who have abused you are your parents and family. Those who were supposed to nature love and protect you when you were most vulnerable. And I know its not because they are pain or lack of knowledge. They did it deliberately. Pre-emptively planned to destroy me. Tortured me for decades. They were my family. I loved more than anything. I tried everything. I had to run for my life at the age of 46 and after over a decade of healing I'm left alone in the world starting my life from scratch at the age of 54. How do you forgive this? This is what I want spiritual teachers to explain. How can you not want justice?
I've been through my fair share - just a small suggestion - think about it like redirecting your mind to the choice you made. When it comes up you're supposed to tell your mind what to do, you accept it but you have to teach it - you don't really need to feel better about it - you just need to chose "I understand it happened but what I want is more important" something along those lines. Or "I know they did that but I chose to forgive them" you'll spend less time reconstructing the feeling and you'll start building new neural pathways for it to become natural. It's not your fault. Hope it helps. (Your perspective is valid, not saying discredit your pain. Just saying to redirect your attention)
It's hard to think outside the feelings you have. So you have to trust that once the feeling changes - you'll learn to forgive yourself and them. It'll feel different. You'll feel like a different person almost. And so you won't identify with the pain.
Of course, you want justice, that is a normal reaction while hurting. Also, there is a good chance that you will never receive an answer to "why" that will be able to satisfy you. It's all a process, though. And if your desire is to feel free, light, and alive then you will eventually let it all go (forgive) so you can feel those things. But again, it is a process and none of us can just snap our fingers and forgive on command when we have really been hurt. You listening to this video is a good indicator that you are going through that process and will find freedom. Your best years are ahead of you! Best to you.
