    Great comic haul grey. Really interesting covers. Especially the silver age comics. The 60s Superman covers are very unique. Have a wonderful new week my friend

    What a haul of lovely SA goodness. Those covers just ooze 60’s silliness.😁 That HOM is definitely an execution cover as it says so right on it.
    You are right on the first Cluemaster too.
    Thanks for the Patreon vid Grey.👍

      Yeah you can't beat some old DC beauties for sure, cheers for checking them out, this is actually a super old video that I set to unlisted for ages. I have a new birthday haul coming soon though

    Another fantastic haul Greyman! That box lot was stuffed with great comics! I had to add that Mystery In Space “The Day Adam Strange Vanished!” I’ve never owned that issue and the cover really draws me in. I have to read it!❤

      Thanks mate, this is an old haul that I had set as unlisted for a long time but my birthday haul will be coming very soon and there is some equally lovely stuff in there too. I know how that goes sometimes you just see a cover that you just HAVE to own and it's straight to ebay to see how you can get it. That's what love for comics does for you. Strangely I seem to have a thing for bee covers lol something about the them is ridiculous for me and just makes me love them more, Bee Boy on superboy cover, bee execution squad are two that come to mind of comics I fell in love with at 1st sight.

    Some Silver Age DC goodies there, DC did stuff during that time period that you didn't seem to get from Marvel and crazy is what I want from my comics!

    Oh the temptation of a bulk buy 😈 I've been laying low on the buying lately - but if I found a stack of books like you did, I would have gladly taken the endless berating from my wife 😁 That is truly a SUPERhaul Man, it certainly has BEEn an a pleasure to see so many groovy books 🫡

      Cheers mate, it's an old video that I think I set as unlisted at some point, I think I was sulking lol I set it to public now so I guess YT has notified my subscribers of it. I have a new haul coming very soon for my birthday though!!

    The best thing about watching your hauls is that you only show the good stuff! At least to my tastes! 😁 But seriously, just about anything from DC's Silver and Bronze Ages are gems compared to Modern krapp! Strong start with some of my very favorite things that ever came out of DC's long history: Kirby goodness, any Bronze giant-sized books, and Strange Adventures silly sci-fi! 😍* * * I wouldn't feel too bad about spending the money for that big package of Silver Age books. First, what is done is done. And you were able to shave off 25 quids and you'll be able to cut down the actual cost even more by selling a few of these doubles. A lot of those DC books were gogo-checks covers,🤩 a sure sign of quality! And quite a few were from the Legion of Super-Heroes best era, when a teenager Jim Shooter was writing and master craftsman Curt Swan on art! And first Cluemaster? Maybe not Batman's most awesome villain, but he's still a classic key! There is a lot of value in this bunch! * * * I leave you with a rare recommendation for DC's more Modern stuff (but with a true old school vibe): have you read World's Finest: Teen Titans #1 that came out last week (as I write this). I think it's a reboot and they've gone back to the original Silver Age line-up (mostly). It's written by Mark Waid (who rarely disappoint) and the art is very nice too. Oh, and if you have not jumped on the 12 issues mini-series Danger Street yet, it's one of the rare modern books that seem to please us older collectors unanimously.

      Cheers mate, glad you liked the haul, I certainly think I got some nice ones there. That eBay lot, the ones that I kept ended up costing me £30, which is cool as looking them up price wise I got a massive bargain there. I have heard about Danger Street and may well check it out at some point, all the 1st Issue special characters are in there so I hear, an interesting concept for sure. I have been reading them Strange Adventures, all great fun stories, I love them. Cheers for watching & supporting my channel mate

    That was great bunch of books, DC had some fun and stunning covers back then. That Adventure Comics #416 is one of the few I need to complete the Supergirl appearances in Adventure, the only giant in that series that I haven't got many of the stories, those 80 pagers looked in excellent condition, unusual for them!

    • @thegreyman
      @thegreyman  2 місяці тому +1

      Thanks mate, I am not a condition fiend I am just happy to get them however I can! Best of luck finishing that Adventure run, I recently finished collecting and reading Supergirl vol 1 and 2, fun comics. This is actually an old video that I just found that YT had put as unlisted for some reason! (Along with a couple of more videos) I set them back to public again but I think it must have notified people that it's a new video!

      @@thegreyman I've all the Volumes of Supergirl and of course all her Action run, so now working backwards with Adventure, then of course I had forgotten about The Superman Family, using the Jimmy Olsen numbers from #164, so they'll be next I suppose? You're right about condition, the older they are you have to decide condition or price, I want to read them, so I get away from slabbed as much as I can. That Batman #222 I could of paid £300 for in slightly better condition, but that one cost me £65, it's lost some of its gloss and a couple centre pages are loose on one staple, but it's a decent book that can be read and put away tidily, it gives me no more pleasure than if I had paid £235 more!

      @@thegreyman ...and that can be a problem to, because high grade expensive books end up in slabs, so reading them is a mute point! 😥 One of the Bat books I'm getting soon is #234, but it looks no more than a 6.0, so it's cheap enough to read, lol!
