@maa107 but we're talking about stock 2011 stang and camaros. No mods at all. If you can add cai headers and a tune to the camaro then we should be able to add that to the mustangs. Either way the modular ford motors will respond better to tuning then the camaros.
the ls1 cars were very simular but some minor motor differences(bigger mass air,less restrictive exhaust). and the lt1 cars were very different with the ss cars having aluminum heads on the lt1 where the z28 did not.

Why would you compare the GTR to a zr1? It's down 150 hp to the zr1. I compare the gtr to the zo6 as it should be. How do you figure the camaro would catch the gtr in a mile long run?
In this video AFTER he says $67,000 he drops the numbers $58,000. They put $10,000 in options like you said. The other Edmunds video even said that this car does 0-60 in 3.8 seconds and the quarter mile in like 11.8 seconds... So who knows.
I loved the 1-3 generation Camaros. The fourth and fifth just don't strike me as intimidating from the looks. They do put down some decent numbers, but Camaros were always about the aggressive looks to me. The big block was a given. I'd especially like to know how these cars look bulkier but weigh less? How does that make sense? It worked for the Boss Mustang (and only the Boss), but never my beloved Camaro.

This is a very good price for this car considering how much performance you get, and how exclusive it is. Those who think otherwise just don't get it. Kudos to Chevy for teaming up with SLP on this car to allow the customer to have their own customized, fully warrantied CAMARO!! AMAZING.

I own a 2002 35th anniversary SS limited ed and love Camaros but I have to admit. 2011 gt stock is a great car. Better interior and performance for a great price and that's why they'll sell better than our 2010 Camaro will. I wish GM would stop playing catch up and be the leader.

@redrosecross no the 2011 mustang GT dude where have you been? The V6 stang is getting 300hp and is going to run 13.5 in the quarter while the GT is getting 412hp and will be running high to mid 12s. Its the end of camaros again.
I sold my 02' drag camaro to my uncle and got a ZL550 on the way i wanted a ZL575 but the dealer couldnt because the ZL550 will be the first SLP sold in my State and at that dealer. I got a vid ot it but you better belive if i find a ZL575 i will definatly get one. oh and thes 1/4 times they showed on here are slower than real tests

Yeah, Ford stepped up their game for 2011. The new 'Stang V6 should be well over 300hp, and a new 5.0 good for over 400hp. I hope GM can think outside the V8 box and make a TTV6. It's lighter, better handling, better braking, better mpg, more power,...etc
@oldgateway you apparently misunderstood my comment, I said that the 2011 Mustang will have more hp and tq than the 2010 Mustang (which is what all ford guys are all bragging about, EVEN THOUGH THE CAMARO WILL HAVE MORE). And yes that is true the 2011 mustang is quite lighter than the camaro which is where the mustang has the camaro at, but like i mentioned before add a CAI some headers a new tune and you guys will be seeing some headlights, oh and FYI every fuckin mustang on the street is moded

As much as I love the Camaro, these aftermarket companies should work more on weight reduction. I'd rather get a package that reduces weight. Anybody can make power. 600hp is indeed impressive. But a 4.2 to 60 and a 12.4 quarter isn't that big considering the price difference. The stocker is capable of 4.6 and 12.9. Take some weight off and you can get better times without adding stress to the driveline.

Lol the zl1 has 580 horsepower not 550 and I would rather take my camaro to Hennessy and get the hpe 650 that's gets from either 622 to 612 hp threw the rear wheel so this camaro 575 is nothing compared to that and the 0 to 60 is 3.7 seconds compared to 4.2 that you get with the 1le package from the dealer. Plus if you wanted this wouldn't you just get a zl1 lol they have around the same when comparing the how they are the camaro 575 cost about the same?

That was an hpe550 I believe. This was 2010 when they first came out
i think they got low 11's for the zr1 with the stock tires. Radials on a zr1 will run 10's

Yea the SuperSnake is a monster in Horsepower, but it can't put all of them down to the ground, it spins its tires at 4th gear in full throtle.

@kyle1970ss actually the 2011 Camaro SS has no changes at all. It's nothing different than the 2010 Camaro.
Factory tuned not, because M3 doesn't need much power. It can do things other cars need a 100 HP or more for.
Hope they stick to the legendary cars as the RS SS Z28 and maybe someday the IROC as it was also the Z but no new prototypes.

Something is wrong with that 1/4 mile mph. Should be in the low 120's at that power level atleast.
They should modify the suspension first and then reduce the weight , otherwise the stock is better with only Bolton's .

Just look at the '93 Z28 vs. a 2002 Z28 or SS.

It's slow, I almost felt bad when I beat one at the track. Imagine paying that much money and still losing to a car with half the cylinders.

v8 camaros don't have bad resale value...there are 2002 SS's on ebay for over $20K. check it out. The V6 on the other hand, yeah.
