    Good morning Anne! This is very timely for my crafty space. I have wanted to embrace the playing cards. However I wasn’t finding anything that wowed me. THIS however immediately drew me in. And I realized I was sad about the other techniques because you couldn’t “see” it was a playing card. My family always had “card games” at family gatherings which bring me very fond memories from my childhood. Thus the “face” was important for me to be inspired to use the cards!! Thank you thank you! Also, the other channels you shared were “new” to me, so I will go watch their take as well. Have an awesome week!

      Twila, I'm so happy the timing was fortunate on this one - do have fun with your playing cards! I agree that I like to preserve their original identity - there are so many memories in playing cards for me, too (playing rummy every Sunday afternoon for years and years!) Thanks as always!

    Hi Anne, I have to admit, you came up on my feed a few times and I ignored it. But, then I was watching Gayle and she mentioned you and your video on whack & stack. I immediately went back to my feed and watched it. I was hooked! I have watched a bunch more of your videos and now I am a subscriber. Thanks for sharing your talent. ~Lisa

    Fabulous And Timely. I am headed to a crafting Retreat and there is going to be an instructor one day that will be teaching us about junk journaling. We are supposed to bring any small craft item that we have created using anything from fabric to paper, paint the plastic to trade with other members of our retreat. It will be so quick and easy to create a set of these cards / frames to trade with others. I have to agree with you using the stick glue and napkins. I love the way that it goes down so much easier and with so much less mess . By the way, the prayers and blessings Journal I said I was going to make with a group of middle to high school kids at church have turned out fabulous. Thank you for so many of the instructional ideas for parts that I used in the journal.😊❤

    I am a brand new subscriber. You were being interviewed. I live in Salem, Oregon. Born in Tillamook and my Dad was in the Air Force, were stationed in Washington, California, and Germany. We always had my mom's parents' dairy farm was our perment address. Once Dad retired, we all came back to Oregon to lived. I married a California, but, one vacation to oregon. And it convienced him to move to Otegon. I ordered a Sizzix die cut last week to make frames. Then I jumped on your video, making frames out of playing cards. Love that idea. It was great meeting you. Take care. Big hug always.

    What size is your oval punch? 2 inches? I love this idea and will start making them today! Now- where are my cards???

    • @annekenlon
      @annekenlon  Місяць тому +1

      Hi, Jennie! I used metal dies in my die cutting machine (totally not necessary for journal making, but I got it years ago for my card making practice and I do still use it a lot.) That particular oval is 2 5/8 inches by 1 5/8 inches. Thanks so much for watching - have fun with yours!

    Interesting that you don't rough up the card first. I've tended to stay away from playing cards because I don't want to scuff the surface. But your paper seems to stick to the plastic coating, which I like.

      @annekenlon  Місяць тому
