- Today we are looking at a BMW X6M Competition. We were very much so expecting to fall in love with this car, but unfortunately several factors kept us from achieving that outcome. Everything from harsh suspension, laggy shifts, and sports car like left us with a sour taste in the mouth. Come on a drive with us as we discuss the exterior, interior, and drive of the car!

Sorry but the x6M COMPETITION is the truck for me I drove others like Audi rsq8 and gle 63s AMG and they feel kinda soft for me great daily and great family vehicle for me… if your buying a SPORTS ACTIVITY VEHICLE you really don’t care about the trunk space because that’s not what you bought it for… if you want a family car you can buy a Toyota sienna… great video!

Hey brother, really appreciate your brutal honesty of this review. The BMW M cars and SUV's are very taxing on the body. That's why I changed to Audi, because of a more comfortable ride. Not in my 20's anymore.
While many would disagree - to me it was too much all around for a daily driver - and I DO like my cars on sportier and firmer side. This car all in all didn't make sense to me! Thanks for stopping by and liking the review. I also love my Audis (currently in an RS6) :)
Have driven these and it drives great. Particularly for an SUV of its size. They handle great, body motions are well controlled, infotainment good, lots of power....it's a great car.
The dynamics on it are great especially for sporty driving - but for day to day I much preferred my M50i. But I can see a buyer who would enjoy this day-to-day as well. Thanks for stopping by!

Then stick with electric vehicles the best part of the car is the engine and it does plenty plus will always sound 100x better than any e car.
You're just not the type of guy that drives high HP cars and the X6 isn't even that high in power.
Almost all of my cars have been high(ish) HP - and in this X6M it's not the power that's the problem, it's the rest of the car, especially for daily use. It's really not a great blend of sport OR luxury in here! Love my M50i X5 that much better, while still retaining the 4.4 V8 in there! Thanks for stopping by!

@@JC-vk6ii There are definitely those that love this type of ride -- wasn't my cup of tea, especially in an SUV! The compromise BMW got w/the M50i is a much better balanced car all around.
How would you rate the X6 M against the X5 M50i?

Great question. I spent a day with an M and ended up purchasing the m50i. To me the full M was overkill in day-to-day driving. It felt more on edge, suspension was much rougher and overall the whole car felt very 'twitchy' to me. Maybe good for track, or spirited driving - but for city and highway use was definitely not my cup of tea. The M50i takes everything down a notch or two, gives you a buttery smooth ride while still keeping that marvelous V8. The M50i also has a deeper exhaust tone due to a different turbo setup, the full M sounded very pale by comparison. To me for daily use the 50i is a no brainer, but I can see how there is a customer for the M for what it offers. Interior on the M is tough to beat. For a weekend only car, the full M can work as well, but to log miles on it would not be my personal choice. Good luck and thanks for stopping by!

And the engine does run hot. Takes a while for it to cool down once you park, fans run for a while in my m50i.

The grill is closed when the fan stops so it keeps the heat inside of the engine bay, which I suspect it is no good for the parts and plastic hoses. Here is Sydney Australia so the climate can be very hot in summer.
@@EastWood2004 You might be correct, but I've seen no evidence yet of it causing any damage or failure to engine components. I live in AZ so we will see how it all holds up!
you should ride x6 m50 if comfortness and quietness is your jam
x6m comp isnt built for comfort.

firstly that is a sport car not luxury car, there is luxury version you can buy. also x6m is not a package its car itself x6m
Sure - to me this match up between sport/luxury doesn't work very well. The X6M to me didn't do the sport OR the luxury all that well. Surely there is someone that enjoys the mashup - but for a daily, I like the M50/M60 variants considerably better. Thanks for stopping by!!
Did you seriously just compare the instant torque of an EV to an ICE vehicle and knock the ICE vehicle because it didn't have the same "instant kick in the butt" as the EV? That's hilarious! Oh, you really meant it? OK ....
There's many pros but also TONS of misses to me on this SUV. While moderately quick the car has a hard time hiding it's weight. These also don't sound as good as the M50/M60 variants (due to a different turbo setup). They have a buyer for them ... but hard for me to see what niche they fill as there are many compromises on all ends. Thanks for stopping by!
