If you don't know when her birthday is, just celebrate her 'gotcha' day every year instead, the day you got her. Alot of people do that with rescue dogs 🥰
If you can get Pinky tested for leishmania please do, my dog started obsessively licking her paws ended up making them red raw and things went downhill from there. Leishmania can attack the vital organs in dogs which can kill them very quickly, thankfully we caught ours in time and she had to be on medication for the rest of her life but lived happily and healthily. It’s only a blood test so I would really try and get that to rule it out. Dogs in the uk don’t really get it as it’s usually infected by a sand fly bite but rescue dogs especially from the Mediterranean and Eastern Europe so that might be why a vet in the uk didn’t test for it right away, here in Cyprus any dog gets tested as part of their first checkup because it’s such a big problem. Better to be safe than sorry! 💜
Our rescue dig chewed his paws from anxiety. Instead of using a cone of shame, you can use a snug fitting tee shirt (toddler size). It covers & protects the area without a cone . Also, Thunder Shirts work wonders for dogs with anxiety. They also have a patch for a calming spray (like essential oils). We used both with our rescue for 10 years and it worked well.
The leg lifting thing in male pups is not a hard rule. My pup did this since when he was 10 weeks old, though now that he is older he does it more often. Glad Pinky is doing fine! She seems like such a sweet dog.
My dog is a rescue from a puppy mill and she chews her feet like this too. The vets thought it was an anxiety thing or nervous habit she developed when she was a puppy before we got her. We have to keep cream around for when she does it a lot and just keep her distracted. She doesn't do it as much since she got fully adjusted and gotten older. But on occasion we still have to use the cream.
Hey soph glad to hear pinky is doing well! Heads up on grain free dog food, there have been studies linking heart issues in dogs with grain free food. Usual food allergy for pups is chicken, maybe try swapping to a different protein in pinks food. If you do swap food try and do it slowly integrating the new food in a little bit at a time over two weeks. This helps prevent upset tummy and potty issues. Also if pinks doesn't like the cone you can always try a doggie doughnut collar. (used to be a vet tech)
When we have pumpkin soup at home, we put creme inside to make it a bit nicer. It's a bit nicer either way, but James might like it a bit better with creme. You put the creme inside the soup once you have out it in the bowls and mix it.
I have an adoptaversary for my pooch every year as I dont know his birthday. You might want to see if she will do better with an inflatable collar thing to wear instead of a cone of shame, looks a bit like a travel pillow. Xx she is looking great
I can’t believe how similar we are atm! Me and my fiancé moved into our first home together 3 weeks ago and on Friday 4th December our little rescue dog from Romania arrived! He is somewhere between 5 and 9 months old. He also does the same thing as Pinky with his paws and he overgrooms a little bit. He has his first vets appointment on Friday so hopefully we can get to they can help! His sister was also rescued at the same time as him so we THINK they were abandoned together. I’m so glad to see Pinky settling in well💕🥰
My dog has doggy eczema and chews her paws a lot. She can get a bit obsessive so the best thing to do is just distract her from it and make her paws don’t get too dirty on walks or if they do wash them when you get home xx
Hey Sophie I left a message before about pinks treats, smaller dogs can sometimes have more sensitive tummy and the cheaper treats gives my little one the runs, so I now buy her natural treats only and she's been fine since, pumpkin is also great for dogs, they can eat the seeds as a snack too. 💕
thank you for this!! she definitely seems to be doing better since we have been giving her grain free food, and we now have some more natural treats too ☺️ thanks for the pumpkin tip!
I would go for the raw frozen minces there are so any good companies selling fully prepared just defrost and go food. Natures instinct and nutriment are great and most places offer a starter packs so you can see what works for your dog . My family got their rescue puppy when she was around the same age and dry dog food made her have accidents every night even with the grainfree until we swapped her to frozen food.
Pinky is so adorable! I’m not sure what’s recommended in the UK but in the US there’s an ongoing investigation about grain free diets and heart disease in dogs. I actually know someone who’s dog developed heart disease from grain free food and had to be treated with a special diet and taurine.
Aw that pup is so adorable. I would make her bday the day you adopted her. Because that's when her true life started. Such a beautiful girl. One love ✌❤🧡💛💚💙💜
My dog hates cones too, to stop him itching we bought him an inflatable ring from online. It's like a little rubber ring around their neck which is comfortable and not claustrophobic and restricts him from being able to get his mouth to where he tries to itch. He sleeps in it and uses it like a pillow, doesn't bother him once he quickly got used to it! Pinky might benefit if you ever need one and if she hates cones x :)
My dog chewed on the same area, it was for a couple reasons, one was an allergy to wheat and the other was anxiety. The first few years of her life she was neglected and abused so she has PTSD, it's quite common in rescue dogs to have anxiety. My dad got her from a shelter that rescued her and she eventually stopped chewing once the vet recommended a wheat free diet. When he passed away 4 years ago, my half sister abused her so I took her and she was very ill. I nursed her back to health and she did chew at first but I've worked with her a lot to make her feel loved and safe, it took 6 months but she rarely chews now unless something sets her anxiety off. Maybe since Pinky was abandoned she has a little anxiety? Just a thought anyway. I love the updates on her!
@sophdoesvlogs Hi soph love you vlogs on pinky glad to hear she getting in well she so cute🐾🥰. Just a tip.. I have rescued dogs all my life and because we didn't know there birthdays we used to celebrate them on the dates we adopted them
Some dogs often chew/ lick places as a coping mechanism, some dogs do it after eating treats. I work at a doggy day care and when talking to clients they notice their dogs doing it at home especially when they’re tired☺️
og brilliant news to help you with your pictures, looks loverly, from a quick glimpse, oh pinkie making her presence at the vets this trip is important to meet his carers and her vet . we have a growing up photos of our two siamese as our eldest is 21 yrs old , our youngest 9 yrs old but we mixed our photos showing them growing up , and its ongoing , but you need to be a little artistic , chewing can be a sign of stress our younger one turned out to be alittle stress related , dont jump to conclusions, before its diagnosed . i know having siamese for all our married life , its more likely its stress , like my young man , enjoy together bye xxx liz xx
Love your videos! ❤ just needed to give some vet tech advice on grain free food. It has been linked to causing heart disease, and the FDA is recommending to avoid it until they figure out why.
With the chewing of her legs, my dog used to do the same with his paws and various patches on his body, we paid many hundreds of pounds to have tests done, to discover he wasn't allergic to anything. But we got some anti allergy pills which they dont typically like to give dogs long term, but they will if it helps, which it did and he hasn't chewed himself in 2 years so its worth asking the vet about trying if you think it will help x
Just a tip from someone who has five dogs: a low protein diet helps with skin problems. I have Westies, and our vet said they're the only Westies she's ever met with no skin problems. Hope that helps 😊
Try researching a raw food diet. Often times its the processed foods that cause allergies. There's some online shops that do a complete raw food range if you don't fancy making it yourself. Try theyloveit.co.uk or even search UA-cam for recipes. So many benefits to feeding raw and she'll love the variety of foods!!
Soph, if you ever wanted to make your pumpkin soup more ... fancy? 😂 highly recommend added some spices such as cumin, curry powder, little bit of cinnamon and ginger. It makes it almost like a curried pumpkin soup and it’s absolutely lush!! Xx
My rom rescue when I got her spayed I used an inflatable collar instead which is much better! Also you might be able to help guess she based on her doggy periods!
My dog did the same and im also 95% sure hers is chicken. Shes now had a chicken free diet for a year and stop scratching and her coat is so much better!!
If you need a chew recommendation, you can buy things called yaks. They’re made out of yak milk, but they’re all hard and great for chewing - once they get small you microwave them and it puffs up, and they can crunch it down and eat it!
Pumpkin soup is so good. I like to add some coconut milk to mine and it makes it more Thai inspired. So delish. I have to admit, when you got Pinky and said she was 4 months old I was surprised because just from volunteering at shelters I would have guesses from appearance that she was older, maybe almost a year. So I'm not surprised the vet thinks she's older. Just kind of surprised the rescue didn't catch it. Also, we had the same thing happen with one of our cats when we rescued her. The shelter said she was a year old. When we took her to the vet they laughed and said she was six months old at a push, which was annoying because I had been trying to not adopt a kitten kitten (More fool me since she's my best friend now) 😂. So when we got to the vet we basically just made up her birthday which was about six months behind the vet appointment. They didn't seem to care. But we also celebrate her "gotcha" day as well. So all of our pets get two special days of celebration every year lol
The red stain on her leg is not soreness but actually just saliva staining! I learned this because my dog has a lot of anxiety and she always licks and chews on her paws. They are red because that's the color of dog's saliva. It's great you got her checked out because beside behavioural problems it could have been something more serious. I'm glad she's healthy
My sisters dog Luci was the same and it was dermatitis, we used a shampoo to help with the problem, however she's no longer with us as she died from Parvo
My little dog has bad allergies and chews his paws so bad! He's currently in a cone but we are starting him on a hypoallergenic diet once the food is delivered so fingers crossed this helps as we had an allergy screening done and he's allergic to everything!! He's going to hate this new diet bless him but if it saves him from the cone of shame then it will be worth it
Shes such a cutie 💓 one of my dogs has an allergy to grass which seems to get worse in summer (kind of like dog hayfever) but as long as she's happy and healthy ❤
We have a rescue cat and unfortunately his teeth were in such rubbish condition that they have no idea how old he is. We've had him a few years now but literally no idea his age. He also suffers from stress - he over cleans himself, ending up with raw skin and then it gets infected. It takes a long time to get him back on track. Hiya soph! I love you so much and I have been watching you for years. You really have helped me through a lot of bad things and I just want you to know that I appreciate you 🤍🤍

We do this with our rescue cats! X
We do this too with our cat 🥰
We do the same with our adopted children!!
I do this with my cat. For insurance purposes we had to “make up” a birthday, as we don’t know. But I always just celebrate the day he moved in.
My friend does this but they call it 'home day'

You're welcome, another great occasional treat is a big raw carrot 🥕its good for their teeth too. XX
You're such a lovely family. It makes me so happy seeing you and Pinky and James together. ❤️❤️❤️
My dog does the same with his legs, we always related it to stress but it’s interesting to see others dogs do this!💕
My dog itches so much, she pulls her hair out and breaks the skin sometimes too. Our vet told us it’s allergies, so keep an eye out just in case!!💜💜

I love that you made use of all of your pumpkin! I’ve always been brought up to limit as much waste as possible. Makes my heart happy 🥰
Omg ’From now on’ 😂💕 probably my fav musical song ever, i totally feel your reaction to it!
My dog is on anoallergenic food - it's a protein allergy so she's on special food. You can buy it from the vets or online retailers!
Omg i love the lil decorating party going on especially to the greatest showman 😉
Some dogs often chew/ lick places as a coping mechanism, some dogs do it after eating treats. I work at a doggy day care and when talking to clients they notice their dogs doing it at home especially when they’re tired☺️

My rom rescue when I got her spayed I used an inflatable collar instead which is much better! Also you might be able to help guess she based on her doggy periods!
Oh! I was gonna say - if her skin issues don't resolve, you may need to see a doggo dermatologist. I've heard people have good results with derms.
My rescue dog chews in the nook of his arm too. I've finally narrowed it down and im like 90% sure it's chicken of all things!!
My dog did the same and im also 95% sure hers is chicken. Shes now had a chicken free diet for a year and stop scratching and her coat is so much better!!

I tried these and making a puff but it didnt seem so soft, was i just too impatient to wait for it to go soft? 😂
@@laurenb1663 they don’t go soft in the microwave, they puff up and almost go crunchy! You can definitely tell if it’s working, it looks so weird 😂
@@madeleine8099 ahhh okay! Ill give it another shot then haha, thanks
For grain free food you should totally try Four Friends! They are so good for pets and a lovely company run by lovely people ☺️

And try her with grain free treats/food and see how she gets on and also try the soothi spray or bar from the dirty dog bar, check them out on insta
Hey you probs won't see this but when my cat needed a cone we found this comfy collar in pets at home.
Hope this helps for future Xx
Pinky is just the cutest little pup🥺 also I love the lipstick you’re wearing In the start of the video, can I ask which one it is? 💗
Needed this after a bad day ♥️
The red stain on her leg is not soreness but actually just saliva staining! I learned this because my dog has a lot of anxiety and she always licks and chews on her paws. They are red because that's the color of dog's saliva.

My sisters dog Luci was the same and it was dermatitis, we used a shampoo to help with the problem, however she's no longer with us as she died from Parvo
Absolutely love all the prints especially the elephants 🐘
Highly recommend a hand blender for soups!
My dog did the same with the chewing his legs and feet and we moved him on to Wofcol salmon food and that sorted him out perfectly xx
Cannot believe I've never thought to hoover just under whilst drilling!?!
You've just saved me a tonne of clear up time haha 😋😁
My dog has the same problem with chewing his leg. It's only one leg and it seemed to start out of nowhere. It's the same spot on his leg as pinky too.
Love you and ur vlogs and ur new little family, will u be doing a house tour?
I would love to hear your playlist! It sounds so good!
Last time I was this early I could hug my friends 😂
The same thing happened to my friends dog, She had an allergy to something, and the vets still aren’t sure what it was!!
Glad Pinky's alright :) 💕
omg shes so cute with that hedgehog and in general xxx
My little dog has bad allergies and chews his paws so bad! He's currently in a cone but we are starting him on a hypoallergenic diet once the food is delivered so fingers crossed this helps as we had an allergy screening done and he's allergic to everything!! He's going to hate this new diet bless him but if it saves him from the cone of shame then it will be worth it
Why was the song u was singing at 14:52?
I've sent so many posts of pinky to my sister she is now following the instragram profile! Our shared love of puppas 🦮💖

will you be doing a full house tour?
Going to watch when I workout in the evening today!
Unfortunately he also suffers from cystitis when he gets stress and cystitis in a male cat can he very bad if not treated quickly. He once ended up in the animal hospital for a week while he got better.
Anyway, I hope Pinky is doing better after her trip to the vets.
Yesss so excited for this video! thanks for sharing so much about Pinky!
I thought she said ‘and a bunch of kinky toys’. When I tell you I choked on my cereal 6:07
6mins45secs for the Pinky stuff 🥰🥰
I love the lip colour you are wearing in the middle of this video! what is it? 😍 xx
I think you should celebrate her birthday as the day you got her maybe! Just an idea :)
Love these videos ! I got an 8 week old pup last Saturday : )
Pinkie is so cute ily
She's so beautiful 😍
Try Lily’s kitchen pet food.
my friend has a rescue dog from romania that was an abandoned dog found in the street that was covered in oil but she looks the exact same as pinky!! she is two years old and very protective around new people in the house, she goes for them constantly if they look at her or move to fast, do you have this same problem with pinky? They aren’t sure what breed she is either but i’m sure she is the exact same as pinky
Hey Soph. Do you know how Pinky got to the UK? Did a rescue place bring her? Xxx
All the info about how she got pinky is in her vlog where she introduces her x
pics look lush soph xx
Shame you don’t know her exact birthday but you can celebrate her ‘gotcha day’ every year! She’s beautiful x
my dog also bites at her paws and arms just because she’s allergic to grass so my vets put her on pills and she’s now on grain free food cx
You have such a gorgeous home
Hiya soph! I love you so much and I have been watching you for years.
You really have helped me through a lot of bad things and I just want you to know that I appreciate you 🤍🤍
Ahh thank you Jasmine ☺️ hope you’re okay!!
You can get Pinky tested to see if she's likely to be intolerant to many things (lots you wouldn't even think about). Take a look here www.bbherbal.trade/product-page/intolerance-sensitivity-test It's not my small business, and I don't personally know the lady who runs it, but I've used them before and highly recommend! Very interesting results and can be helpful to know what things may be best avoided. Glad to hear she's doing well and is healthy xx
Aww cute bless her love you hope you are well x💖🌸🌺
What song are you playing at 14:52, I tried to search the lyrics online but coudn’t find it
I believe it's Happy Birthday Jesus Christ by Robbie Williams xx
What food do you feed her?
Do you think you’d ever do a house tour
What camera do you use?? Zxz
Love you gorgeous you look absolutely beautiful love you love beautiful videos ❤️❤️❤️
Where you guys hoovering your wall? 😂🤷🏻♀️
