Wow those shots ! Lots of comms to make that work too... Know your camera ?...yea by instinctive feel. Thank you for showing us the inside story of Air-to-Air Photography.
Love these helpful videos. I'm still old rookie pilot and old rookie photographer learning incrementally with some mistakes along the way. These guys generously helping give a few tips is a pure example of giving back to the very thing they enjoy and have a passion for. It's been a blessing to have ridden in formation with formation with some of these guys. Thank them all for sharing.
This is one of the best videos I’ve seen that covers air to air photography. The camera angles are superb! And it features some of the very best in the business. I’ve been lucking enough to shoot a few warbirds including a Mustang and a TBM air to air. Still waiting for a chance to shoot from a Bonanza or a Barron.
Thanks John. As a photographer and a pilot myself…I loved shooting and editing this piece. Photographer Scott Slocum was a fantastic interview sharing his passion and knowledge which is priceless for all successful air-to-air shoots. Post some of YOUR favorite photos or send them to me at Bruce@Chopperguy.com.
Hey @ChopperGuy AWESOME video. This is some spectacular content. I’m trying to get into aerial cinematography but a bunch of lessons here apply. Thank you so much for this! Hope you’ve been getting some great flying in.
Saw Jeff perform at the Buckeye air show last year; Absolutely INCREDIBLE! Haven't seen the Waco airshow yet. Not the same Waco Jimmy Franklin performed in for decades. At looking at it, there's not alot of the original UPF-7. Add a jet engine to any propeller driven aircraft, it's gonna make it just that more impressive. How 'bout puttin' a smoke system on that helicopter!!! I saw a Kermit Weeks hangar crew credit for their assistance; PLEASE do some videos in "Orlampa". Take me with ya!! Another great video Bruce.
Well now, I love both aviation & photography.... I am going to apply for an air-to-air photog position. Added value, I can do aerobatics without issue, no grunting at +8 or -3.
If you don't do air to air you cannot be considered a professional aviation photographer. Ground shots do not count. Only air to air shooters can be called skilled and professional the rest stay home.
Those photos are awesome. Very interesting. Never knew how they got those shots
Really well done. Nice behind the scenes and “what makes it all come together” video work.
Awesome video! Spectacular photos. Real pros.

What's the song at the end?
Awesome video btw, if you could keep some Vietnam war era aircraft content that would be awesome.
Courage!
