I'm not too objective on this, but I really do believe that this is the exact moment Killua fell in love with gon and started to realize he felt a bit more than friendship towards him. It's killua respecting Gon for who he is and realizing that he is light and he always has been, he's the one who saved him and who's always been so bright and optimistic and always makes the best out of any situation. In this scene, Killua lets himself down in Gon's light, allows himself to feel this ''wow'' moment of pure admiration and love, and it's absolutely beautiful. (MAJOR SPOILERS) That's why I felt like crying when Killua was watching Gon sacraficing himself to kill Pitou. I mean except for the part that killua is trying to run to gon and catra was running away from Adora. But the feelings are the same. Whether or not they do end up as a Canon couple, killuas more than friends feelings are so obvious, it snuck up on me and then I was like "OHHHH" Gon, I'm not as sure about, he definitely loves Killua and he could just express things differently given the different upbringing and what not. I'm not too objective on this, but I really do believe that this is the exact moment Killua fell in love with gon and started to realize he felt a bit more than friendship towards him.
It's killua respecting Gon for who he is and realizing that he is light and he always has been, he's the one who saved him and who's always been so bright and optimistic and always makes the best out of any situation. In this scene, Killua lets himself down in Gon's light, allows himself to feel this ''wow'' moment of pure admiration and love, and it's absolutely beautiful.

I just remembered a scene from the new Shera where catra is running away in the forest and says "Adora doesn't want me......... not like I want her." And I think that is the same as the scene where Killua is crying and repeating the Gon is his friend when he's trying to go rescue him. I mean except for the part that killua is trying to run to gon and catra was running away from Adora. But the feelings are the same. Whether or not they do end up as a Canon couple, killuas more than friends feelings are so obvious, it snuck up on me and then I was like "OHHHH" Gon, I'm not as sure about, he definitely loves Killua and he could just express things differently given the different upbringing and what not. But it may, unfortunately, turn out that Gon only sees the relationship as platonic or maybe even he turns out to be asexual or something. But they are both young so puberty and these things can develop at differnet rates in different people. But the pain I feel when Killua talks about Gon..... just... sobs in gay. Ahahah
Also, just so you know, I've only watches the 2011 anime. Just finished it today actually. I want to watch the 1999 version and find where to watch the movies. I feel like there is much contextual subtext that gets lost in translation too.
