I remember about a decade ago the Fukuoka governor tried to wipe out all the Yatais cause it made Fukuoka "look bad". I always thought he had no idea what he was doing. Yatais give glow and joy to the city, its absolutely one of the biggest attractions not only for the locals, but across seas as well.
Viewing this particular video was so much fun! Aside from the great foods your smiles and laughter made the viewer feel as they were present there with you. Great job Shizuka!!🙂
I haven't been to Fukuoka or a Japanese food stall, but let me tell you, a nice bowl of Ramen accompanied by a set of gyozas and karaage at night after a very hectic day really lifts your spirits.
You're energy and smile is what brings me to this channel. I love Fukuoka and its yatai culture.... i was there a few years back just chatting away with rando locals
Shizuka, we loved watching you on Tokyo Eye! We are loving this new channel. We are going to Fukuoka next month and can’t wait to explore all the new yatai! ❤
Am also a CDN JPN who lived in Japan (Tokyo and Fukushima) for a couple of years 14 yrs ago. Your videos bring back fond memories of the culture and great rich mix of food. Thanks for these videos.
I love this! The informality and friendliness definitely assists foreigners to break the ice and get to know some of the locals. What a great way, after work, to grab a drink, and work your way along the yatai and have your fave dishes, and say hi to everyone who are regulars. The world needs more of this ease of socializing. Bruce, Shizuka, and the team, thanks for this episode!
This channel makes me more and more excited to visit Fukuoka! I love how accessible street food is for travellers, even for people who might be a bit picky about their food.
Thank you so much Shizuka! Another wonderful food vlog from my favorite Japanese food vlogger. I swear, when I come to Japan, I am gonna gain a lot of weight lol! But will be so worth it! I hope when I come to Japan, I get lucky and just happen to stumble upon you all filming a episode. That would make my day! Anyway, thanks again for another wonderful video and keep up the great work! Also, your dress was so cute!
Great episode JbF!! Why? Cos I'm soooo hungry now! That chicken dish at the first stall looks amazing!! Actually, all the items from the 3 places look delicious! OMG. Thanks again for another great episode!
Shizuka true happiness comes across on camera 📷 and it's infectious. I see big success for Shizuka , come on over to L.A., San Francisco or New York City
Ms. Shizuka !!! Is always vibrant ... beautiful and lovely .... Oops i always finished the ads and by doing that i always support your good vibes channel 💚🤍♥️
I would to see a 1 on 1 interview with this fellow ( Bruce) . Shizuka and him could do it over dinner. 40 years in Japan: is he a citizen, does he have Healthcare, does he own a house, why did he come to Japan etc...
yatai.. definitely way to connect to local, eat local food at local prices.... its way to get friendly with a Japanese local.. as they have an image of being reserved but through food, you get them to open up in so many ways beside getting drunk with them
1st comment! Well not really, I scrolled down and no one actually said 1st! So yeah, trying to steal that like from Shizuka! But back to this video, this is something I didn't get to try. Definitely gotta try the food stall culture next time I visit!
Is there any halal yatai in Japan? If there is any I love to know... I've been watched a lot of yatai videos in youtube and the food that they served is always looks delicious...
Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, we don’t have that information available at the moment, but we will be happy to assist you as soon as it becomes available. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any other questions.
Thanks, glad you liked it! Most yatai folks are all about that cash life, but you might find a few that take cards. Always good to have some yen ready, just in case!
oh snap street food carts, im so there. definitely gonna check out what is where. do you guys know of any yatai focused websites or message boards and what have you?
“The only social construct in Japan when you don’t need to be drunk to talk to the other guests”. 30 seconds later: “KAMPAI!” 😄😉 Great video though - everything looks so tasty!
I’m not saying “namen”, I’m saying “ramen”! If you’re a native English speaker the pronunciation should sound similar to “la-men”, but if you’re a Spanish speaker then the “r” sound in “ramen” will sound similar to the Spanish “r”.
man, Shizuka is the best host. she makes everyone smile.
For sure! Shizuka just has that vibe that makes everything more fun.
Shizuka is just a bundle of sunshine ☀

yatai.. definitely way to connect to local, eat local food at local prices.... its way to get friendly with a Japanese local.. as they have an image of being reserved but through food, you get them to open up in so many ways beside getting drunk with them
Absolutely! Food truly has a magical way of breaking down barriers!
👏👏👏
We do have the same food stall here In Indonesia, we called it “Angkringan” ❤❤

Attaches remote mic to the guy. Makes the guy go down under the bridge. Then wave and say hi acting like you just met 😂
man mentaiko is so ubiquitous its even mentioned in military thriller fiction and spy fiction books ive always wanted to try it.
You gotta give it a shot-who knows, maybe it’ll become your new favorite snack!
1st comment! Well not really, I scrolled down and no one actually said 1st! So yeah, trying to steal that like from Shizuka! But back to this video, this is something I didn't get to try. Definitely gotta try the food stall culture next time I visit!
Hahaha thanks for paying attention to the video!! 😉 Like! 👍🏼 And yes, definitely try the food stalls next time!!
i was told that the temperature just started to lower now in Tokyo. Cant wait to come back to drink that nama biru 😂
Nice! Grab a nama biru for us too! 🍻
Ah, Shizuka is here :}
Another wonderful video by Shizuka and co! Any idea where Steph go? 🤔
Stephanie will come back soon!
Love your content. Can you do some videos for people who maybe more introverted and not really into the bar/drinking scene?
Thank you for the feedback!
My most memorable moment of Fukuoka is that a taxi driver slammed the trunk lid on my hand (by accident 😄) i will never forget that moment 🥺 hahaha
Thank you for sharing your memorable moment!
👍

Una bachata en Fukuoka
Gracias!
Hi Shizuka!! 👋 wish we were friends in real life
Thank you for watching!
❤❤❤❤
Great video! Question: Do yatai generally accept credit card? or cash is preferred?
Thanks, glad you liked it! Most yatai folks are all about that cash life, but you might find a few that take cards. Always good to have some yen ready, just in case!
oh snap street food carts, im so there. definitely gonna check out what is where. do you guys know of any yatai focused websites or message boards and what have you?
I’m not sure what you mean exactly- what kind of info would you be looking for on a message board? When they’re open, etc?
Shizukaaaaaaa
“The only social construct in Japan when you don’t need to be drunk to talk to the other guests”. 30 seconds later: “KAMPAI!” 😄😉
Great video though - everything looks so tasty!
Thank you for watching!
🤤
Perhaps you can include the prices of the food you order too !
“❤”
Everyone so thirsty for shizuka
Shizuka would be like the most awesome girlfriend! She drinks, she eats, she’s beautiful and smiling all the time.
Thank you so much for the kind words!
😍
Zukes!
Sso awkward that greeting lmao
B R U C E : 😊😊😊😊 Awesome food
Thank you 😋
These yatai owners work so hard. Having to prepare the food, set up the yatai, cook for hours and dismantle everyday must be exhausting.
Thank you for recognizing their hard work! It's inspiring to see people appreciate the effort that goes into making our favorite street food.
Shizuka by Food seems more appropriate
FIRST COMMENT!... jk lol Can't wait to go back to Japan again next year💗!
Lolol I see you! 😆🙌🏼
@ShizukaAnderson Bwahaha ❤😂 hoping you tour still for my next visit 🙏
😀
4:33 i'm sure all the men where queuing up to flirt with Shizuka
Shizuka you're so fxckng pretty ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for the kind words!
@@JapanbyFood ✌️😅❤️
How is this channel so small
Thank you for your support!
The tour looks interesting but Y140000 for two people too expensive. That is almost $500 per person.
Huh? It’s 39,000 yen per person. It includes taxi and hotel pick up and food.
She back! 😂 she like tried of this shit 😂😂😂 I hope not 😅
She might fart a lot eating various kind of food 😂
I have diabetes I can’t eat anything now, my life is wasted 😢
why do you keep saying namen? Isn't it ramen?
I’m not saying “namen”, I’m saying “ramen”! If you’re a native English speaker the pronunciation should sound similar to “la-men”, but if you’re a Spanish speaker then the “r” sound in “ramen” will sound similar to the Spanish “r”.
After 3 or 4 beers I have to pee. Where do you go?
Nagahama yatai area is great because they built a public bathroom on the street right by the yatais! 🙌🏼
First
thank you for the new video. i'm dying to watch a new one.
Thank you for always watching!
@@JapanbyFood my objective is to make all your videos red at the bottom from watching. ooh and i watch your videos while eating.
Are kids allowed?
Yes. local families go to Yatai as well. Just like they said in the video. Yatai is for everyone.
Anderson? With Americans? In Japan giving you food advice? Yeah nope 👎 She’s to fake for me…
japan don t have a culture of street food...you dont find a street in japan with street cars saling food..like korea...and others asian countries...
