Hi! I have a question. In the book "Advanced Teeline" by the creators of Teeline, they suggest using the big circle for B in all cases. Why has that not been incorporated in modern Teeline?
It can be if you choose to do so. There will always be variations in Teeline. Some are shown in Teeline brackets after the outline. The system was created in 1968. It is very different in many ways since that time. For example the “D” was originally a backwards “B”. I think just the big circle “B” should represent “be” whenever it makes a good outline.
I have seen that book as well. My opinion would be that unless one is very careful with it, you will likely mistake it sooner or later for an "S" when writing at speed. So instead of, say, "bed", you could transcribe it back incorrectly as "sad." Perhaps context would save you in that specific instance, but maybe not :)

@@fredclough7817 but it would never be used as the first letter. Bed would always begin with the full “B”, as would any word beginning with “B”.
