Missing Cards: (no particular order) 1. The Reality Chip 2. An Offer you Can't Refuse 3. Brain Freeze 4. Displacer Kitten 5. Hullbreaker Horror Faerie Mastermind (from the latest set - I assume the video was probably recorded before the release though 😄)
Now, Im only bavk to the game for a couple of months (after 20 years), but I'm very happy to report that Ive heard of about 1/3 of the cards.... Mainly due to your vids, many thanks, its highly appreciated. Educational and fun yo watch!
A bit sad "an offer you can't refuse" didn't make the list, I feel like it's the best counterspell before the free ones (and if we're considering casual commander, prob. better than Pact of Negation)
Both blue wheels in the top 10 don't deserve to be ranked that high. Especially the spiral. Walk the Aeons is the most budget extra turn that does not exile itself, which means you can take infinite turn loops with it. Should be rated higher.
I appreciate the both of you taking the time to make your list of the top 100 Blue Commander cards. There are some really good cards on your list. Some of these cards have a very high casting cost though. Thank you for the video Nitpicking Nerds.
Walk the Aeons is great in a landfall deck. You are likely running a ton of cards that let you put those Islands back in play, so it works out quite well. Save your land drop until after it is cast to keep that loop going.
When i first started playing magic, i thought blue was BIG STINKY. Now its in over 86.75309% percent of my decks. Where did i go wrong? Now all my firends say im the BIG STINKY. I may be able to counterspell their commanders, but i cant counterspell my sadness. 😞
Awesome video! Something to consider would be to also write the approximate price of a card! This video would be amazing to watch and consider every card for my decks, but I know that most of them are far outside of my budget, so it's a lot less useful
5:45 Transmute Artifact says if the artifact you tutored has a greater mana value than what you sacrificed you need to pay the difference so there is no mana discount but it's still a good card.
Urza Block is the best block. change my mind. Timetwister is one of my favorite sorceries in my Balmor deck. That deck needs card draw so it's got great synergy, and most players have never seen it resolve. oh, btw, i only spent like 18$ on that deck.
Don't think I saw just plain regular counter spell... Just because there are better options it's still universally powerful especially in the Singleton format,
How is counterspell not on the list? Personally, I think that counterspell is only a bit worse than Arcane Denial, which is 61 on the list. There was plenty of room for counterspell, and I don't even think its a competition when compared to niche cards like ponder.
Imprison in the Moon costs 3 to cast versus 5 to cast treachery. Also, Imprison in the Moon hits significantly more permanent types which is very relevant.
i held a 20+ year grudge against blue and all blue players. Back when damage still went on the stack, i played a game where i sacced a few creatures for black mana plus 2 dark rituals for a Drain Life for like 15, well into lethal damage. My opponent hit me with Deflection, then said he wins. the prick even read the flavor text at me when he slammed it. not only was it a bullshit effect, it was a misplay and i wouldn't have died, but he was the more popular guy so we has able to lobby the room better than i was at the time. what should have happened was deflection changes the target of Drain Life, but since i'm still the caster I will still gain whatever life is drained from myself. Before 6th edition there was a status check for 0 life at the end of a phase, so players didn't die the instant they hit zero life. that's right, Norbert Wong, you cheated in that magic game we played in 6th grade. It was only a Koma EDH deck that pulled me out of the boycott. i said "well, maybe i'll just use it for tokens and i wont use the control part of it" 2 months later i was playing Yuriko. isn't there a saying about if you survive long enough you eventually become what you hate? it's true.
Not gonna lie, a little disappointed to not see Long-Term Plans here. It has become my blue tutor of choices and is very good with blue’s quantity of card draw.
Im looking forward to this, although i do have a few predictions/ suggestions. Propaganda- are you going to pay the 2? Seriously, play this card, and its similar cards (ghostly prison, revenge of the ravens, archangel of absolution, the new elesh norn, etc) Emry, lurker of the loch. Very fun artifact commander, combos well with other legendaries like sai, master thopterist and would probably be great in the 99 of urza, high lord artificer.
@Frank Magyar yes, but it's very good in low power. CEDH decks usually don't even have to attack people to kill them, do it is useless there and noncreature spells are very good but in low power it shines.
for some unexplainable reason they've always crapped on propaganda effects, even tho they say they play low-mid power where attacking is the majority win-con. They've had a few other head-scratcher takes like this, almost so bad you wonder how much they know what they're talking about. i know NN do, ijs it's so inconsistent with everything else they say.
@@Fausto_4841 They have been pretty upfront about changing their meta over time to be more fun, from 8-9 power level to more combat focused, and have commented that Propaganda is much better in a combat meta
usually Beezy does the voice-over stuff, like for their shorts. i think bc this wasn't a video with them going into their thoughts about each card and it's mostly just reading and explaining the card like 100 shorts put together it was just easier to use one voice. having them switch off each number would make editing a more technically difficult and time consuming process.
