White man:
Trains his heart out to dunk for years and can only do regular dunks
Black man:
Never trains, takes a nap, wakes up and does 360 windmill Behind the back and kisses the top of the backboard
@@MichaelBarrins J.Cole 2019 dunk contest. No warmup, no sport clothing, he's a rapper not an athlete, same height as me. He jumped higher than I've ever jumped after years of tumbling and volleyball training and conditioning. Kinda motivated me tho, altho I know us whitebois gotta work harder.
Edit: okay it seems J Cole was a division 1 player in his youth, so this man is a beast in all senses
Lmao
I'm a white boi.
I am currently 16 yo,and about 6'3.
I never did trains for jump higher.
I just can for no reason. Okay,I could be better. But 2 hands without training?Bruh. And I AM the only one in My team, who can dunk.. Also,I am from Hungary, and there are just about ~40 player in my city(there are 2 teams in my city, and the other team has 2 players, who can dunk, but they are training for it lol,cuz they are centers) (*in my age*).
I thinks it's depends on genetics. My mother was an athlete, my father was a soccer player back then.
thanks
dude i am 6'2 and i can barely dunk…. so be proud of yourself man
It says no dunking but he dunks on it lol
@@MichaelBarrins I know I’m late but I have put a goal to dunk and then gave up cuz I thought it was too far fetched for me (5’8 with shoes) and then I got back on it and for 2-3 straight months I didn’t play ball or do anything other than training so no distractions and when I finally dunked I was just like “wow I did it”. It’s a different feeling
lmao *No Dunking*
Excellent video, young man. When I was 20, way back in 2001, I remember being obsessed with the idea of dunking a basketball. At 5'7" it was a dream that I thought would be incredible to have come true. I thought to myself, "Once this happens, I'm gonna quit basketball." Then, November 8, 2001, the day came when I finally dunked... and I realized, as you have, that this cycle... really doesn't end unless you choose to take a step back and ask "what is this all for," and that in and of itself, a goal is not what will bring true meaning to our lives. 16 years later, and the Lord has continued to reveal what truly matters most in this life, and it's His love for and through us. Man, I appreciate your spirit and you sharing your journey. Take care.
+Orlo Branch thank you. Our experiences are similar in realizing that cycle. There’s more to learn and grow from. Continue that through any means, and thank you for sharing your experience as well.
Orlo Branch congratulations to you to my brother much ❤️ you are inspiring too. 👍🏽👍🏽
+Real Life Trickshot lol.. Well man, as comfortable as we get in this life and even as much fun as it can be, there can come a point when you start to question, "Is this it?" Maybe you haven't come to that point, but if you ever do, you'll hopefully seek and find those answers as well. Take care.
Great video! I started playing basketball when I was 15 in High School, and I fell in love with the sport and especially trying to develop the ability to dunk (I used to play it everyday after school and during my days off). I'm 5 ft 10 and I achieved the goal of dunking a basketball with a drop step during my second year of College at the age of 18 (I'm from England), but soon after I all of a sudden became very bored of competing and I no longer showed up to practise with my College team. I was one of the highest jumpers on my team and after I could pretty much easily dunk, I no longer cared that other team members could soon out jump me during a friendly competition. I took up an interest in reading instead, started working, making a decent income, and now I'm married and have a child on the way during mid July this year. I am going to be a great dad and I will make my firstborne proud of me by always being there (amongst other things). I still workout every week as it is a passion of mine, however I have no need to go 110% everytime spending hours in the gym since it isn't like I'm getting paid for it and I have more important things to do in my time that revolve around others like friends and family. Instead I am aiming to be healthy, athletic, relatively strong, maintaining my good looks and enjoying my life whilst helping others reach their goals. Just because I'm married and nearly 27 does not mean I'm settling and neither is my wife. If anything my life has gotten more exciting. I am currently learning swahili, and writing a book. Unfortunately I didn't get my driving license when I should have, but atleast I'm doing my theory test next month (it's never too late. Anyways I've waffled long enough. Atleast you've started something and your not being lazy with your life. Keep up the good work.
This is an amazing story to share Derek. I have noticed a similar feeling moving from the suburbs where I grew up to Boston at 23yrs of age. There are a lot of people to meet and new experiences to learn from. I just still enjoy the challenge of throwing a ball into a 10ft hoop. It also seems to be one of my gateways to connect with others. Best to you and your family
living a motivated life blesses you with so many lessons and moments. Its not about the end goal its about the ride! i hit an eastbay after years of training... I'm still the same guy! was a great moment, but the life i lived to get there was even more amazing.
+NDJPro true that Nico. There’s always more to learn from, and life is the most amazing part.
Love the commentary. I reached my goal to be able to dunk it when I was 18. Then came a couple of years of meeh I already reached my goal thinking that got me slacking. Now I'm back to training my dunking and trying to achieve other athletic and life goals as well.. Thanks so much for posting!!!
Man you are a huge inspiration to me keep up all the good work
this resonates with me in ways. thank you for sharing your journey brother. i learn from you a lot. keep doing you
Just live each moment to the fullest. So depressing chasing something thats gone just as soon as u reach it. Much love hope u make some vids in the future
I use to be 5’4 grabbing rim with two hands my freshman year lol i just never knew how to take off but i can dunk off of lobs and stuff and im 5’10, refs use to say if i knew how to take off or if i had a sense of awareness on high i can jump i would be one hell of a dunker because they say without a ball when i get rebounds that my head be by the rim. Your video gave me motivation
@@Chrissistoocool 5”11 now otw to being a junior and now windmilling wbu?
@@certifiedkyn9728 damn so it wasn’t cap😭. I’m going to my sophomore year and can rim graze on a windmill but I’m 6’2
Excellent video, this gives me back the motivation that I’ve lost
Thanks for this vid bro this really motivates me. We been playing basketball at school for a lil' while and i said to my friends that imma learn to dunk. They all said it is impossible and that i would never reach my goal since i am only 5'9, but damn u showed it was really possible. Imma prove them wrong one day i promise 🤝
Being able to dunk is just the beginning, reaching that goal opens the door to so many other possible goals!
This is actually inspiring. Thank you
Bro, once you hit your goal .. the journey never ends. No need to feel lost or what have you. Your channel doesn’t have to stay at just dunk videos. You could become an overall Fitness & Nutrition UA-cam creator. And on top of that ... you could make fitness & athletic workout programs. Create your own website & sell them. Use your thousands of subscribers & help others. Make a difference. God bless bro.
Great job brother much ❤️
Very inspiring
Dude ur amazing u made me believe that quitters never win and quitters never sucssed and ur an amazing example of that
Great advice man. Thanks
Good on you man, I'm 46 years old 6,1 and getting real close too my goal of dunking. Enjoyed watching your vids and they keep me motivated too keep trying.
+Andrew Edhouse nice, you can get there if you want it to happen. I’m glad you enjoy the content
Dedicating your time and energy to any one thing as much as you have does help you grow as a person! Right now basketball might be the only thing you're really interested in, so keep developing your self discipline and confidence in the skill your interested in, so you can apply it to other skills later in life.
I am 5'5 and I am really motivated right now. Right now if I jump I touch half of the net.I will train hard and I hope that in one day I will dunk. My journey will start from tomorrow, 22 january 2018. I will come back with a comment if I succeed.
I am not doing very well. I've started in the first week with some plyometrics exercises and during this time I've been playing basketball frequently at my high school but after one week I've had a small injury, something like a muscle tension in my both arms and I've had a rest for one week.
Today I've started the training again. I've just come home from the gym and I am gaining my strenghts in order to continue at some point with the plyometrics exercises.
There is a progress, but not something very noticable. Right now I play football in local school championship and I can't do any other specific trainings, but in the summer I will try to do the Flytright program by Brandon Todd.
Hey Mike, Love your channel and the progress you have made. Its so inspiring to me and pushes me to keep working towards my goals of dunking at 5'8. I just want to let you know wherever you want to focus your channel go for it, kill it, and inspire people like you have already! Keep up your great work!
+Zuggy778 thanks a lot! You can reach that goal but there’s more beyond it. I appreciate the support man.
Nice vid ! Really admire your words and progress ! I wish I had the same drive when I was younger to increase my vertical ! I practiced a lot dunking the ball but with just one leg , you could probably try doing that
hey bro! i loved this vid. gave me a lot of motivation. im asian 5'8 115 lbs (definitely need to gain some weight) and 13 years old. Ive always seen dunks as something impossible, something that only 6 footers or pros can do. ur video showed me that you dont have to be either. ive been working, and so far, i can grab the rim and almost dunk a tennis ball. im working on it every day, and i hope to get my first dunk by the end of 8th grade (this year).
can you make tutorials on how to jump higher
I'm 32 5.6" and still do vert training when I reach my goal that is my memory for my offspring... This is my motivation because to proof to others that I have my talent that them
Not stopping until I passed my goals
gosh!! dude your awesome.
im 5'9'' i used to just work on jumping and dunking then about a year and a half ago i got into also making my own music.Love it...my friend motivated me cus he gets money off that like shows and stuff
I’m 15 and 6’, never thought it’d be possible for me to dunk but I just regained hope, touched rim for the first time today, feels like a dream
This is super tough!!!
I always jump with one foot becauze i get higher than with 2 feet. And alot of people say u can get higher with 2 than 1 but when i try it i lose more jump height
aye mike, it's cool that your not gonna center your channel just around dunking and jumping and even thought I really love them as a loyal fan and sub I'm with you on whatever you want to create! Do what you want to do bro and that's whats gonna make your content a lot better cause if you do what you love and want to do the videos are bound to be fire! we with you all the way
+DunksForChrist thank you. I appreciate your support man. I’m not 100% sure the direction I want to take my channel yet, but you’re right about it making the content better. Thanks again, and keep growing.
Respect!
I am 14 years old. About 5'9". I remember being able to touch the board with the tip of my fingers(the board was lower than the regular board) now after 1 year of training I can touch the rim with my fingers easily. I hope to dunk before my 15th birthday (14th of August 2020)btw. I am white so I do not have much of the genes( English is my second language, so if I made any mistakes, correct me)
I like how the back board says no dunking
I think the tough part of this goal was that it was a milestone type but there wasn't a monetary or competitive aspect of the goal to replicate the feeling after hitting it
Hey Mike you have motivated me to start my vertical training I'm 13 and about 5.5-5.6 and am looking where to start and if there are any programs you recommend, thanks :)
Never give up
This voice over is litterally that clip from the office where Michael is talking to davis Wallace and he’s like “ my no circumstances ever should you ever under any circumstance” goes on to say nothing
very good continued
On one of the hoops it said no dunking but he still did
I want to dunk in at most 6 months i can touvh at least 3 inches below the rim i need help what workout plan would you recommend for fast jumping vert growth? Thanks
Hi! All right, help me.
As you separate the training days from the legs and plyometrics.
and you work your arm and abdomen part, how do you combine the week with the other exercises?
What's your standing jump bro
Plz tell me bro
Were some of these videos filmed at IU?
Hey man, ive watched most of ur videos for motivations, it was all great. im 5'10, 85kg. 17yrs old and i can only touch the board using my fingers on a 10 foot rim. what should i do, can u give me some links of your workout. i want to improve a lot
2:00 broooooooooo hahaha
Fantastic progress! btw, Do you have any recommended dunking shoes?
Thanks!! Find the right ones for you! I like ones with flexible ankle support and good traction (currently dunking with Nike Zoom Clearout)
great video bro but sheesh your landing scares me!! looks painful
2:00 “no dunking” what a savage
Respect bruh im 5'9 can't even reach the rim cuz i only like shooting 3s
its time for east bay and 360 dunks
8 week update??
check out episode 7 ten thousand hours.
I like how the backboard says no dunking?
how is that max jump workout going?
you have not uploaded videos for a while. are you injured?
After a 50 inch vertical was reached, work on dunk tricks or be involved in dunk contests just like JClark the jumper
its said no dunking but u dunk there thats gangsta
What program did you use for increasing your vertical?
once you reached the goal.....you reached the goal..
Hey dude I’ve dunking and I’m a beginner and my fingers hurt when I dunk is it because I’m jumping to short or what
Bro you are honest
great video i am notivated rn but im 5'4 30years old i have any chance to dunk or get drunk :(
What is your weightlifting workout?
What training program do you recommend?
What type of work out was you doing
What’s your wingspan?
Once you reach the goal you need to set new ones ;) or help others do the same with your experience. Contribution to what YOU think is meaningful is the key! Keep it up, you might inspire some people to start training and that might be just a side effect of you setting yourself to achieve the goal of dunking. ;)
in highschool i always wanted to dunk and i started dunking somewhat consistantly my senior year. Thank god for the 6'6 wingspan. Now i play basktball just for fun but i've thought of other challenges such as windmilling and dunking with my off-hand jumping off my off-foot. I've thought about just trying to dunk directly off vertical but i've given up on that. But i guess outside of dunking and basketball there are other goals that you can acomplish.
+1301407gl that wingspan does help for dunking. True that though, there are a lot more things to accomplish
2:10 savage
That no dunking sign at 2:16
what exercises did you?
You're awesome
+Sécurité Routière Tous Concernés Tous Responsables I appreciate it man!
I'm gonna have a 110 inch vertical!!
amazing IDOL give me some tips to jump higher like your Im only 5"7 same your height
#PHILIPPINES
how old are you? can i still do this training im 36 years old
How long do you think it would take to gain 6 inches on my vert?
Tyler Vaugh I worked my butt off this summer and gained about 6 inches in like 2-3 months
👍👍👍👍
Bro im 5'7 and i could grab the rim but i couldn't dunk. Please give me some advice .
How tall are you??
lmao, once you reach your goal YOU HAVE REACHED IT
Did you just practice dunking or do specific workouts to get jumping higher?
A lot of both for a while. Then I cut out working out to experiment with jumping only, but now I’m back incorporating new workouts
Michael Barrins thanks for the reply! I used to train jumping when I was in high school but it’s been about 5 years since I stopped. Right now I’m grabbing rim with the second joint on my middle finger jumping off two. Hopefully I see progress soon. Really focusing on plyometric training and weight training.
Whats your weight?
why does the top of the basketball rim say no dunking then....hmmm
just saying...
I'm surprised you didn't have the goal of building your basketball game overall after dunking.
Whats ur height?
Men. That’s the motivation to me.
What is the point of dunking anyway? I would rather improve my dribbling or my shooting if I were a small guy. Good job though
Goal: no dunking
Him: dunks
Goal: am I a joke to you
Gerald Sprayberry nigga to mean backboard
