Quick overnight trip in the Wyoming Beartooth Mountains.
Talking about some of my backpacking and camera gear. Not meant to be any sort of review of products, just information about how I use some of my gear.
24:54 that's a good dog. You can tell he's just happy to be with you.
He’s a good boy (most of the time) 😂
What a beautiful film my friend! Atmosphere is simply incredible
thank you!
Such a good day to discover amazing channel. +1 subscribe, you really deserved that
Appreciate it 🙏🏻
Not the video I was expecting but very nice. Appreciated the pre-dinner Dots and beer and was glad to see I’m not the only guy whose dog hogs the tent space. Had you gone another mile or so up the trail to Montana you could’ve hit some nice cutts
@@Dorfhiker love that section of trail, just didn’t have time for the longer hike out the next morning. Went all the way up to Crystal Lake a few years ago, 12-13 in Cutties that would eat anything you threw
@@chad.edwards Yup, Crystal is good. Don’t know which way you got there but if you go back try hiking up Sierra Creek from Green to Summerville, over to Alp then follow the inlet stream up to Crystal. Beautiful area. One of my favorite campsites is just below at Alp, across from the falls. Some off trail but easy enough with some use trails. Pretty dog friendly. We had to carry my then 2 year old lab over some boulder fields but that was his first time off trail. He’s figured it out since then.
Albino, Jasper/Golden are good as is Maryott/Donelson and sometimes Two Bits and Flatrock. Never fished the cloverleafs but I’d imagine they’re pretty productive.
@@Dorfhiker when I camped at Crystal I went up past Becker, over Albino, and then mostly off-trail all the way from the Cloverleafs past Maryott, and then climbed down the waterfall. Got a little hairy but it was fun. Then circled out past Green lake on the way out and made my own little lollipop route.
Man, 31:36 is just a beautiful scene! Great video! Solo kind of but at least you had good company!
Thank you, it's a really beautiful area!
Great video! Subscribed and look forward to more 👍🏻
Good video and sensible advice. Thank you for posting!
I work in Columbus and live in Lancaster. I don't blame you. I can see why you chose your current location. I camp year round. Beautiful area. Relaxing video.
Columbus will always be home, but, yeah...
Outstanding cinematography, specially from such a small channel. Keep it up and stay safe!
@@Hunterinoo thanks so much, appreciate it.
I love how you just ignored that one negative comment, btw wonderful video.
Hey, they still watched, gave the comment a like for that alone 😆
@chad7edwards "hate is a stronger form of love" ahh situation

New subscriber here. The quality is fantastic, what camera do you film with?
Thank you! This video was shot on the Sony A7IV.
@chad7edwards amazing, thanks for sharing
Awesome video! Love some good camping + fishing content.
If you’re interested in a 4-season tent, try out a Fjallraven or Hilleberg. I have a Keb Endurance and Abisko View and love both.
@@blond-in-blue awesome, thanks for the suggestions!
Wow very interesting video i really enjoye ❤❤
Keep it up! Great video!
thanks so much!
Love your content ! , just subscribed :)
@@kennedyflash9611 happy to have you here, thanks for watching!
Super chill, subbed. (not advice) Height is the key for me for backpacking pillow comfort. I either stack a couple cheap ones wrapped in a tshirt or use the xl from Sea to Summit that’s 4 inches tall. 👍
stacked and wrapped is a good solution. I did get a new (more comfortable) sleeping pad and I noticed the pillow less (in a good way).
Nice video. You do two things I like other than just backpacking, fly fishing and photography. What kind of fly rod do you have? My favorite sound in the world is right after you tighten the reel to the pole and strip out the line for the very first time.
It's a great sound. In this video I was fishing with a Redington Vice rod, and the Redington Zero reel.
new subscriber here! beautiful video mate
@snippetsoflife4616 thank you 🙏🏻
Nice job.
Great video work.

@@A.Second.Glance these songs were from Artlist, but I’ve used Musicbed for some of my other videos as well. Thanks!
Nice video bro🥂
@@Tambunoutdoor thank you!
Hey Chad! great video! but I have a question about you camera gear. I says the video quality is 4K but to my eyes it looks more like 1080p , very soft PQ and missing a lot of detail.. any thoughts on this? is it me? Tx
Good question, it was shot and uploaded in 4k (other than a few iPhone shots that are 1080) but there are a few things giving it that “softer” look. I color graded with a low contrast look and a lot of greens/blues in the shadows. It was also a little smoky due to wildfires, so there’s some natural haze.
@@chad.edwards "natural haze" exactly! Thanks Chad! I've seen other Hiking youtuber channels ei Craig Adams..ect.. and that's my comparison.. But nonetheless great video! enjoyed very much, and Thank You for proper hiking etiquette...
@@georgesolanakis8264 we're all just living in Kraig's shadow 🤣

What watch did you have on?
Bertucci. It was like $100 on Amazon, don't know anything about the brand, just liked how it looked.
Sorry, the video just didn’t do it for me. Good luck.
What lenses do you have for your phone?
