June 9, 2021: Steve Malchow Trek: Meeting Unprecedented Challenges in a Covid-19 Economy

Steve Malchow talks about the business story of Trek focusing on a successful Wisconsin company that has navigated and weathered the storms of trade tariffs, a pandemic and now an uncertain supply chain when demand for product is outpacing supply. Additionally, he will update us on the BCycle program that offers urban dwellers a rider-centric experience with products that make moving around town fun and convenient for individuals or small groups.
Steve began his career at Trek in 2003 as an engineering manager. Over the years, he has held various positions across the organization. In his current role, his responsibilities include oversight of global sourcing, European and U.S. manufacturing, quality, warranty, engineering, product life management, and program management. He also serves as the President of BCycle LLC, which is a nationwide bicycle sharing service provider.
Steve earned his Bachelor’s degree from Herzing Institute here in Madison.
He says that his goal for Trek “is to not only be a company with innovative products, but rather make sure it is a company of innovators. The culture drives innovation.”
