- In this video we take a detailed look at The Hope Valley route from Just Trains, with a trip from Manchester Piccadilly to Sheffield via Stockport. This video is not a review of the route, as we have been involved with it's development, it's merely intended as a showcase and to give a developer insight into some aspects of the project, whilst looking at all of the main features along the way.

Looks great. Blackpool North - Manchester Stations via chorley and Bolton would be a good line to see eventually
Manchester Piccadilly looks amazing, so much more detailed than on the DTG Liverpool to Manchester route. I love that you decided to include pacers on this route as well. I love pacers! You could drive a pacer next time.
Looks very good, I don't play the game myself, it was my dad that sent me the video. The reason he sent it to me was that I work in most of the signal boxes on the route. It was good to see the route from a different perspective.

I live in Gorton, Manchester and I am a volunteer at the Gorton Monastery. I was so pleased to see that the monastery has been included in the game. Great job! Train Simulator Classic. (9 minutes in to the video)
This is an excellent edition to Train Simulator! I think that both the Calder Valley Line from Manchester-Todmorden-Blackburn-Colne-Hebden Bridge-Leeds would also be a good edition and also the Ribble Valley line from Manchester-Bolton-Blackburn-Clitheroe-Hellifield would be awesome to see too!
If the two lines were merged into one that would be perfect for the northern train enthusiast! We also need Class 195/331s in the game too
That would be awesome I would love that. I would also love to see the tyneand wear metro in train sim as well. However they are only a small team and simply do not have the time to make all these routes, not all at once anyway. It would take them a good few years to do all the routes in the north of England alone.

This looks great, what you have done with this old game is incredible. I have had all the MML packs and will be getting this one soon 👍 I'd be happy to keep buying extensions as they have all been real quality i have spent many hours on the routes.
Buxton and Peak Forest is something I'd like to see, but I'd like to see the Robin Hood Line more, but I'd take either

As a citizen of Sheffield and a train enthusiast. This and the Midland Mainline are my personal favourites. Lots of possible scenarios to make on the Hope Valley Line.
Keep up the good work guys. Buxton & Hyde Loop would be great to see as long as there a small add on and similarly priced to the Matlock add on. Also would be nice to see the missing link filled between Leeds / Doncaster & Sheffield and also the most common demanded one between Leicester / Corby & Bedford / London St Pancras

Looks great will certainly purchase, have all the other Midland Lines so great add on. Continue Sheffield to Leeds and route to Buxton would also be terrific.
Brilliant video, I'm just waiting for the standalone version of the route to be issued. I fell in love with the railways of the Peak District when I moved to Manchester in the 1960s & I would buy any of the lines in the area.
Looks great! Would love peak forest/Buxton/tunstead but it would need to include the loop round from Romiley to Guide bridge and also the denton line thanks to the GBRf and FL stone trains that go down to crewe via stockport

I was kind of sad to hear your comments at the end re TSW. Given DTG’s pre-Christmas announcement of their commitment to develop TSC going forward (particularly this DX12 interface) I’d hope there’s plenty of life in the old girl yet. As you asked, I’d love to see the MML series go to Leeds, then perhaps as another release finally tackle Bradford, Halifax, Brighouse etc. That would be awesome and if anyone would do it justice it’s you guys. It needs saying again that this whole route network is fantastic, and thanks to you guys for building it to this standard. I wait to see what you and ATS can do with TSW, but I still feel that game is a bit of a dogs dinner and needs a lot of work on core elements to get it close to what TSC is capable of.
There's already a new extension to MML in Development at JT, check out the in dev pages, it's going to Buxton and Peak Forest. 😄
Essentially whilst ever Nick is happy working on TSC routes and wants to release them on JT (same applies to other route builders) then JT is an open shop, there's no plans for the company itself to stop making TSC stuff. Just that the core team is mostly reassigned to TSW.
Not usually interested in modern routes, but I ended up buying this since it's local to me (my house is even on it, which is nice when you can't even quite see it from the line although I can hear trains on it). I've ended up really liking this, to the point where I even ended up getting rather a lot of stock that I otherwise would've ignored as being outside my interests - at least I've got other routes I can use it on. Just the familiarity with the right trains in the right places made it all worthwhile. It's almost spooky in a way seeing in Train Simulator stations I've used very frequently, looking spot on.
Personally I would love to see Leicester, Kettering, Bedford then on to St.Pancras (including Corby).

Great route add on, enjoyed watching and driving. Would love to see more extensions including Buxton, Peak Forest and section through Guide Bridge. Further afield an extension from Sheffield to Barnsley & Doncaster would be great for XC services and goods.
Bought the whole MML collection the other day, brilliant route despite the load time (that is to be expected). I feel like there are 3 more extensions they could do for the route. 1 is Manchester Piccadilly to Liverpool Lime Street via Warrington Central. The DTG route is nearly 10 years old and seriously outdated. Then Nottingham to Norwich via Peterborough and Ely, both these routes would allow the full East Midlands run from Norfolk to Manchester and Liverpool. And finally the Leicester to London St Pancras line via Bedford. Again the DTG MML is outdated and because the 222s don't stop at Bedford you can't really drive scenarios on the original MML involving the high speed services.
Obviously alot of work for JT to do but I'd more than happily buy it, and I know many others will too
Thank you for your custom and ideas, I think getting as far as Bedford is the most realistic as of now, the issue with St Pancras is the amount of cost it would be to make balanced out with how many would potentially say "I've already got London to Bedford" means we'd probably never go south from Bedford, purely because of this, as sad as that is, if going to St Pancras was a cheap option then it'd be a risk worth taking, but to do it at the same quality of the rest of our MML route would mean it would be the most costly extension to date for JT to make.
This looks excellent, will be buying the standalone version as soon as it drops. Perfect route for some late 90s Met-Camm and 156/158 action 😅
Would also be very interested in Buxton and Peak Forest provided it’s compatible with the standalone route.
Standalone's are what they say on the tin I'm afraid - standalone. Of course there might be scope for a "Manchester to Buxton" standalone route, though not sure there'd be a great deal of point/sales.

How come there is no 3D track with the midland mainline routes ?. There used to be a patch on the ATS site but its been removed.
Fantastic work you guys have done, would really like to be able to go to St.Pancras but my guess is this may never happen.
We look into all feedback and requests. However if it does not happen right at this moment there's nothing to say it could never happen at all. Its just a case of having to wait and see what is decided upon with the team and the management and what is right for the JT business at the time.

Is your Derby-Sheffield route up to date? The pre-release 1.11 update gave you the track assets for the Hope Valley route but not the scenery.
Just a heads up. The cross over at Slade Junction is just a straight scissor crossing, on your route it showed it as a double slip

Stand alone will follow a few weeks after once we've had chance to do a service pack and clear any unforeseen bugs. Steam version will be whenever DTG then decide to release it.

That'd be a question you'd need to ask ATS/Imbue, we have no control over that, though obviously it'd be welcomed.
Will the standalone steam version have fewer requirements?
How come there is a just trains UA-cam channel and a train sim tv channel? They feel like the same channel.
What's the spec of the PC you used for this video please?

Could we get the branch from Picc to the airport ?
Probably not, not because we don't want to, but more because that area of the route is pushing TS right up to it's limits and adding the Airport branch wouldn't be sensible for stability.

While it is a fantastic looking route, its a bugger so far to make scenarios for without memory errors. Maybe the whole network is to big?
Made 6 scenarios myself so far since release which have all played ball. However the routw is being looked at for an update ASAP
