That is stunning work! I actually thought you might have gone out with your drone and camera and filmed all those clips yourself... but even if you only curated it, it fantastically captures the mood of early 1980s startup films, whilst at the same time being unmistakably 2020s. And your choice of clips fits the music perfectly, too. In a way it's almost a shame that the TSW ident was so discordant, there's almost nothing that could make it sound good by preceding it... so perhaps the logo could have formed up, without its own audio, over the last notes of the main theme. Then again, your triumphant final video clip was also perfect, so maybe you made the right call. Great job, in any case! That's cheered me right up. :)
I had great pleasure and fun in curating clips for this video and putting it all together; I was determined to capture as much of the spirit of the Sourh-West as possible, from the Beltane Border Morris. The Royal Cornwall Show, most towns and cities to the Rescue services. My friends at work laughed at the sheep 'investigating' the camera. I visit Cornwall and Devon regularly so I had a good idea of what the region had to offer. A lot. This is one of the videos that I never tire of watching and I'm so glad that you enjoyed it too. Hi Peter. The 'Welcome to TSW' theme is taken from the audio cassette 'Screen Test'. I was in the SW on holiday when it was being advertised on TV and I visited their publicity dept in Derry's Cross, Plymouth to purchase it. Happy days. All the best, Nigel.
I preferred Westward's intro music - this seems like a strange fusion of game show and light jazz which doesn't quite "feel" right - but each to their own :)
