Aidan is the most respectful person I've ever seen . He even knows every workers name and he has a hell of a lot of staff . Great man deserves all the success he has
Pa. D curious to know why you are referring to him as a control freak? What have u seen that others haven’t. There’s many trainer and jockey duos with father and son
A gentleman who cares about his horse's. He knows all his jockey's. Keeping an eye on the phone and email to see his horse's are keeping Safe. AOB has a great insight . A genius .
Two legends, or what? I always like to see how aiden treats everyone the same. He knows, if you give even the lowest people respect, they work better. Can you show us another high profile boss, that knows everyone working for him, and gives them a greeting in the morning like this. Ballydoyle sure is a lovely part of ireland. Aiden is a good example, of a smart person who sees things in very simple ways. When people talk about genuis, this is how a genuis sees things, they break down things to its simpliest forms.
My two all time racing heroes are the sadly late Sir Henry Cecil and Aidan O'Brien. In every interview at the races I've seen with Mr O'Brien, he is always full of respect for everyone and his passion for the sport shines through! He's a professional, classy trainer who deserves all our thanks for making racing so good over the years! He never courts controversy or fuss unduly and that's why he is a top guy!
@Spaced Adventurer She was badly injured in a fall , i forget who the jockey was that caused it , but it was dangerous riding on his behalf , he nearly killed the girl
Definitely I don't really think that much of looking to role models to follow but I don't think anyone would go far wrong adopting his attitude to life and manner.
@Pa. D well if you're responsible for a few hundred horses worth millions each so a billion pound empire of live stock plus 100s of staff how can you not be a control freak ??? Are you absolutley no brains atall or what?? Beinf responsible for over a billion worth of LIVE ANIMALS which anything can go wrong and you're responsible HOW CAN YOU NOT BE CONTROLLING ITS THE BLOODY JOB OF A TRAINER ESPECIALLY 1 WITH BILLONS OF LIVE STOCK MY GOD YOU ARE SEVERELY NO SENSE IN THE BRAIN ATALL
@Pa. D honestly mindblowing by the stupidity of you're comment oh my lord the man wants someone responsible for billions of live stock not to be in control 😂😂the stupidity of this is literally unbelievable
A very humble ,honest, man..hes right not letting whatever people say about him, bother him,, life is too short..the mans a genius with the horses..if I was ever lucky enough to be involved in owning a decent horse,, and it would have to be,, he would be the trainer for me....ahh,, dreams.....Ballydoyle is some establishment,, wow !..Good luck to Aiden and family, for the future..
Tom Smith, the trainer of Seabiscuit and a fine horseman, was known for almost obsessively watching his horses before, during and after work to intuit where they are today and what direction they're headed in. This attention to detail is what makes a great trainer. It's not glamorous work, but it's sooo important.
1993/94 season O' Brien aged just 24 smashes the old record of 148 winners in racing previously set by Jim Bolger by having 176 winners, making him Champion National Hunt trainer. The following season O' Brien's smashed his record of 176 winners he set by having 241 winners..this making him the champion trainer of all time in Britain and Ireland. O 'Brien was champion National Hunt trainer in 93/94 season and went onto lift the title for the next 5 consecutive seasons. He had tremendous success winning big races such as the Galway plate, Kerry National, Sandowns Whitbread Gold Cup, Champion hurdle. His most successful horse during that time was 3 time Champion hurdle winner Istabraq. Having noted O 'Briens success he was approached by Coolmore owner John Magnier in 1996 and offered the job as head Ballydoyle trainer. You see the young Ballydoyle meastro was lighting up the racing scene long before he took up the role as Coolmore trainer
Got nothing against Aidan as he's a really nice guy however I do feel he is very lucky to be training the calibre of horses he has which was practically set up for him by Vincent o'brien who's buying of Northern Dancer produced Galileo and Montjeu which is basically the whole of Aidans string at one point was by those 2 stallions. Nice man and no doubt a good trainer but very lucky too
Take away the northern Dancer line and he's just an amateur NH rider training handicappers for Listowel. Fact. He knows it's all about the bloodline, not anything to do with him. He just drives his car around with his arm out the window asking riders how they are. Literally that's all he does. Then come race day, other people pack up the horses, off they go and win their races. AOB has fuck all to do with it. Vincent O'Brien was the real genius - built Ballydoyle and had to handpick the horses to win the derby, no two horses related.
The minstrel an nijinsky were three quarters brother that's two of Vincent obriens derby winner related I think Vincent did exactly the same out of the northern dancer line you can't have good horses without a good pedigree. What an utterly ridiculous comment on your behalf
Mr obrien is the definition of "treat your neighbour like youd want to be treated" ...an absolute gentleman
Aidan is the most respectful person I've ever seen . He even knows every workers name and he has a hell of a lot of staff . Great man deserves all the success he has
@Pa. D You might wanna get a mental health checkup
@Pa. D It's plain for everyone to see that you clearly have nothing going on in your life. LOL!

Aidan takes no credit. He said that it was a pleasure to meet and a thank you to the team. A true gentleman who cares. Thank you.

Absolutely and I'm sure he knows how incredibly fortunate he is to.

McCoy gave up his Irish nationality when he accepted that British knighthood. Obrien is next
The definition of a West Brit if there was ever one needed
Ah stop lads ffs....McCoy and O’Brien are and always will be great Irish men.
