      additionalmc It's hard I think because (now hear me out here) it is possible it is because more people come TO america than the other way around, or else, the film industry here is moving towards political correctness and thus tries to imitate accents accurately. I myself want to be a voice actor, and have read many texts that try to phonetically transcribe accents, so I guess I had a bit of experience writing that...

    i had a spare $5 so i decided id make one similar to this, only larger, with thicker pipe(im about 6'5 so i made it about 6'2) and i also put some fibre glass rods into the middle to make it a little more ridgid, and for $5 it works great!

    I've actually made two of these. One is a 5' and the other is a bit shorter. I did modify it a lil bit by putting some wedges in the top and putting the holes for the para cord to go through 2" from both sides. The shorter on though has a little bit more power. That one I made for a friend. Was so jealous. KGBsurivalist, thank you so much for this awesome idea. It's great!!!

    I used to make these when I was a kid. Use your leg to bend the bow, you have more control over it this way and it's just easier to do (this is how you'd string a real recurve bow). You also don't want to use two fingers when shooting. You have more control and strength with three.

    Longbow tip:
    Instead of an arrow-rest, use a leather brace that covers most of the hand you hold the bow with, and the arrows use feathered flights instead of silicone ones (plastic feathers are fine, it just means the flight won't jog the arrow so much as it passes by the bow - an arrow-rest, in this case though, may damage a feathered flight), more expensive probably, But it should help with accuracy, as your arrows should fly with less wobble.
    Awesome Bow recipe though! Archery is one hell of a fun and rewarding hobby! I'm a fan of rifle shooting too, but archery tops that by a mile if you ask me.

    I actually made something like this a year or two back. It's very short. The string is permanently attached and made of some nylon cord of some sort. The bow is shorter. It has a foam handle covered in electrical tape that can be used as an arrow shelf. It works pretty well, considering it did cost less than $10. But it seems like yours is better

    Another good way to string your bow if you're using something less pliable than PVC, is by putting the end that's already strung in front of your right ankle, stepping over it with your left foot and resting the middle of your bow against the back of your left calf, grabbing the end the needs stringing and pulling it forward. This gives you plenty of bend without having to force it, and prevents it slipping.

      Grey Ham The River I can assure you that this bow doesn't have a 60 pound draw weight, and another thing that makes these bows particularly bad is that the arrow rest isn't centered in correlation with the string so it will never be accurate. that and the arrows they were shooting were bent, which i found to be pretty hilarious. I wish idiots like yourself would refrain from trying to correct people when clearly it seems like you don't have the intelligence to pass third grade English, never mind piece together enough common sense to realize a hollow, small diameter PVC pipe like this one would never be able to have a remotely powerful draw weight.

    • @LordKamos777
      @LordKamos777 10 років тому +1

      Griste 9 words is enough for you to judge that they don't have the intelligence to pass third grade English. It's funny that you obviously have the intelligence to explain what's wrong with the "bow" in the video, yet you use a fallacy such as what you said previously.

    • @darklurker08
      @darklurker08 10 років тому +1

      William Watton Maybe you should watch the other videos this uploader has and realize that he has an extremely noticeable tremor most likely due to a medical complication, thus explaining why he was shaking, but you'd figure most people subscribed to the channel wouldn't be too dense to notice that. Since you're defending the bow, rather than the person I replied to, maybe you should work towards affording a proper bow rather than building a makeshift bow out of some PVC pipe because either A: you're too lazy to create a wooden bow, or B: you're poor and insignificant and can't afford a real one, and also conform to A. Please don't waste my time, Bill. It really isn't accomplishing anything for either of us aside from giving me another screenshot to link to people and laugh about.

    • @darklurker08
      @darklurker08 10 років тому

      William Watton And my apologies if I mistook your post in the wrong way, as you failed miserably to articulate what exactly it is that you're trying to say. the person I replied to thinks the bow's draw weight is the reason a fully grown man is shaking, and I simply explained that it's impossible, while bashing his particularly horrific usage of English. I hope that you managed to understand that, but it seems as if you didn't, which would also keep the debate we're having interesting because your post still remains irrelevant.

    I like the coin launcher as well.. I have one you should try--SHOE STRING DARTS what you need 1: shoe lace ends.. (the rounded normal ones) 2: needle 3: straw or longer straw like tube(or pellet gun for small game) How To-- 1:cut shoe lace ends off leaving 1/4 inch of lace, feather out cut pc to make fletching. 2: take needle and cut head off along with half of needle, for balance of dart. 3: place needle in shoe lace tip (point out) hint... I usually heat up needle to make this easy 4: ENJOY SAFELY

    Draw the string back (with right hand) while keeping the wrist straight, in line with the elbow, and pull. No wrist strain. View the target over the arrow, adjusting for distance and wind, then release the fingers smoothly and quickly. Most importantly, RELAX through the entire shot. Practice!

    PVC bows can be strong, but they need to be made better. The pipe you use must be a bigger one and you must get it into the W shape using heat. You must also make it so that the string rests near the grip so that you have a lot of draw. See how you have to release it from an awkward crooked arm position? The arm must be beside the face.

    • @maurice1177
      @maurice1177 10 років тому

      i made 1 today and i used a larger pipe but i did not use heat to make a W but if i had the string too close to the grip then i would hit my wrist and i know bows should not do that they would make your wrist sore after 5 shots.

      Recurve bow seems to be a generic term for anything not compound, so yes. The point is that I suggest an improvement from a simple elliptic shape to the usual contoured one which improves the characteristics and shouldn't be much harder to make from PVC.

      The22g its not a 60 lb draw weight. 3/4 in. pipe at 5 ft long is no where near 60 lb. they probably assume it was 60 lb because if you notice in the video, they have no back muscles.
      at 3/4 in pipe at 5 ft long, its probably 30-40 lb draw weight.
      if you really want a draw weight of about 60 lb. you going to need a 5 ft fiber glass and another 1/2 in pvc pipe. and maybe shorten the bow to increase the draw weight. probably to 46 in.

    Get some wooden dowel, sheets of foam & glue, & use a knife and saw as your tools. Measure your arms length from shoulder to fingertips, and cut arrows 1" longer. Sharpen one end &, with the saw, cut vertically down the other end about 3mm. Use a quarter & draw a circle, & a 2" line. From the tip of the line, go back to the nearest edge of the circle. Cut the outlines and use as a template for the rest. Glue 3 pieces opposite each other, like a triangle, at the back. Wait to dry, & bam, Done.

    I'm an actual archer, and this bow is just a piece of crap. Real bows are much more powerful and accurate. That's why they can cost more than 300€ (i don't know how much dollars that are).

    OR you could use a hacksaw to cut the nocks and tie a permanent loop knot on both ends, 3 inches under the height of the bow(basically a 57 inch long string)

    Wrap the entire PVC rod in electrical Tape, then between the center and tips on both sides add metal caps, Then tighten the string more, then you have a bow fit for hunting.

    They're excellent clothing. As far as I know, digis are water proof/resistant and they have a inner coat that's extremely warm. I imagine the citizens who buy real uniforms aren't doing it for fun, but rather they are very functional. Camouflaged clothing isn't necessarily military. Finally, you don't earn the uniforms, you earn the right to wear medals, pins, and the like on your uniform and you earn the right to be called military personnel.

    You need a straight back, elbow of the shooting arm held up high and a steady posture. Otherwise it was a very nice bow video, maybe something to take use of in the future when you're bored :D

    The bow should be straight up and down then rotate your elbow clock wise so the crease where your arm bends is parallel to the string this way you do not need a guard and the string will not hit your arm unless your deformedm

  • @ThePOTUSofMBradshaw
    @ThePOTUSofMBradshaw 10 років тому

    I think if you don't "pre-bend" the bow, it will have a better range. it might be a little harder to pull back, but it will probably be more effective. :)

    My friend Arnie made a bow SO POWERFUL that it could shoot arrows through trees. [off camera]
    However, when it came to killing the lizard alien thingy, instead of just putting an arrow through it's cranium, he decided that shooting a low yield explosive a few feet away was more preferable. I can only assume he knew that he needed it to blow itself to pieces so ze CHOPPER could land, the girl could cry randomly, & the film end abruptly.
