Think the Martinez fights probably took a lot out of Ancajas, still didn't expect Inoue to stop him.
There's like a golden age of Japanese boxing going on right now. They now have nine male world champions with a chance to get ten in a few weeks. Two of them are unified, one of those is undisputed, they have two pairs of brothers as champions and four women world champions and even one of those is unified.

takuma was taking big risks fighting on the inside with jerwin ... he won, but we saw that he took some big shots
An underated defensive skill of his is how he rolls with the punches to take the force off of them.

I was excited when this fight was first announced and it didn't disappoint! It was a competitive contest throughout and i absolutely loved the mutual respect and class shown by both fighters. I didn't ever think Takuma would stop Ancajas but he prove me, and many others wrong. That was a nasty shot. Takuma is solid and definitely improved leaps and bounds since the Obali loss. Really want to see him unify against Moloney next.

The Filipinos who fought last night (sultan and ancajas) where both over 30 and still fighting at very low weights, both looked weak and dehydrated hence they got folded with a body shot. 30 yr old Pacquiao was already fighting and beaten cotto at welterweight.
Of course give credit to Japanese boxers who elevated their game with naoya spear heading their rise in the sport. Takuma shows he's a level above because he constantly spars a top p4p boxer. Iron sharpens iron in the gym.

Did NOT expect Takuma Inoue to get a body shot stoppage on Ancajas of all people who is apparently known for body punching, I think Takuma should sit down on his punches more often

Takuma is def too small to be standing in the pocket with bigger dudes. Regardless i love the fact that he isnt scared to bang! If we wants to climb hes gonna need better head movement and be better at not overstaying on the inside. great fight!

You need a new coach jerwin. Your coach is only focused on UA-cam channels. You can make more money by winning. You need a world class trainer who has experienced at the highest level. He can still be a co coach. You also need conditioning. You have great work ethics you just need new tools under your belt. I know it’s all loyalty to your coach but if he was looking out for you, he wouldn’t mind you having a new trainer

I like the 4th round when both fighters were standing toe-to-toe. After that Ancajas showed his weakness. He was trying to close the distance, but takes few shots and slow to counterpunch. On the other hand Takuma Inoue has the speed.
In the 7th round, both fighters stood toe-to-toe again working the body. Very competitive in close fights.
In the 8th round, Takuma might be fatigued. Both are taking body punches. Both fighters are trading blows who will break down from these body shots?

No matter how many times you watch this, it's futile to micro-analyze it. Both guys were landing hard shots. It all boils down to who could withstand who and this time it's Takuma who came on top.

Ancajas unloaded some power shots to the head and body of Inoue which would've sent ordinary fighters down, but Inoue's a very sturdy fighter with that trademark Inoue body shot that sucks out all the air in you. Amir Khan once said that he knew he was in danger against Canelo when his best shots just bounced off Canelo like it was nothing.
Bam Rodriguez defeating Takuma Inoue would make Bam vs Naoya a lot more interesting 😮💨
Man the Inoue brothers are giving us some good matches. Everyone likes to bag on Takuma because he isn't as explosive as Naoya but who do you think has to take Naoya's punches when they train? Shingo saw this and was probably like, this is how you roll with your brother's punches so he doesn't knock you out. Then Naoya proceeds to knock him down anyways.

Yes, the knockout shot was to the liver. It has a delayed reaction, and the brain shuts off power to the lower part of the body to keep you down. No, matter how hard you try, a fighter just can't beat the count. And, you did not quit! It just look like you did quit!

It should be Takuma vs Maloney and Nakatani vs Emmanuel Rodriguez. The winners should fight each other for undisputed. I see Takuma outboxing Maloney mainly because of the speed difference. Nakatani vs Rodriguez is tough to call because they both have different advantages. Nakatani has height and reach advantage. Rodriguez has the quick right hand counter like he did against Russel and Nakatani is mainly open to the right hand. They both have power with Nakatani slightly having more power. Rodriguez has faster hands. It would be a very exciting and technical fight.

those body shots that starts in the first round took a toll out of Ancajas. You know he's running out of air, because his mouth was open and arms are low to cover those body shots.
Man, I'm not sure if Joven Jimenez is still training Ancajas. He is not a natural slugger and lately he has been content trading blows, abandoning lunging in and out. He became a sitting duck for Inoue's signature solar plexus (not liver) shots. Naoya and Takuma fight almost the same but Naoya is aggressive from the opening bell. The only difference.

1st thing I noticed is Ancajas was not trained how to fight tight and compact on the inside. He was delivering wide power strikes up close which looks impressive and Takuma definitely was affected by them but it also left Ancajas open to so many tight body shots. speaking of in-fighting, was that really ancajas's gameplan or was it because Takuma is just much faster than him?
2nd thing i noticed is Ancajas is so slow and he looked sluggish early so either bantam is not his weight class or his conditioning coach is not doing his job.
