They should have extended the Orange Line to Route 128 in Westwood and to Needham Heights. And keeping and upgrading the old elevateds along Washington Street and in Charlestown would have been nice. 👍🏻👍🏻
Ruggles! I used to catch my train there every day! I got off my bus on the top level, got my coffee at that Dunks, and on my way home caught my bus downstairs! It feels like it wasn't that long ago, but it's actually been years now! Surreal how time flies sometimes!
It’s weird to see the trains with their white and orange livery instead of today’s beige and orange. Although I think the beige is from the decades of dirty air from being underground
1:10 "like the lighting" yep even when it first opened people realised how terrible the lighting is at Ruggles huh... It's a shame Ruggles deteriorated so quickly, along with most of the SW corridor, it's like they built it and never came back to take care of it. Also interesting to note that those *exact same* commuter rail maps are still up in Ruggles today, even though they remain incredibly out of date.
Dude last time I was in Ruggles was probably 2016 and I’m willing to bet it hasn’t changed a bit since then. Pretty much the entire orange line once you exit the tunnels going south is a decrepit mess. The commuter rail platform at Back Bay station is one of the eeriest/creepiest/most disgusting places I’ve ever been.
She was referencing lyrics of a song, "M.T.A." by "The Kingston Trio " a popular folk singing group in the early 1960's, and the song tells the story of "Charlie", a Boston commuter who rode the "T" for days on a partial fare because there was a sudden tax levied and a fare increase, that he didn't want to pay in protest, so "Charlie", seemingly never made it home from work, endlessly riding the train back and forth with out a break... 🥴 "But,did he ever return, NO! he never returned and his fate is still unlearned... He may ride forever 'neath the streets of Boston, he's the man who never returned"...This anchorwoman was on Channel 2 WGBH BOSTON...this was from "THE 10 O'CLOCK NEWS" broadcast.... which aired local BOSTON and New England news on PBS ....
@@davidblackwell6914 yup still the same trains from the 70's we are finally getting new trains by Summer time even though we was supposed to have them in April

Dudley station was robbed by de-elevation of the El. Still makes me mad that they removed the train and gave them buses instead

@@punman5392 Of course the Orange Line is the last line to get new cars out of all the lines....cause it goes through the hood.
Anyone else on here after the orange line shutdown?

They should have NEVER torn down the Washington Street and Charlestown Elevated!
I take that train almost every day, and those trains went from “nice and clean” to “DAYUM!!!”
I like his style, so natural
Still same orange line trains 😂😂
