- Is the 3rd row any good? In this video I do a review of the third row seats in my Toyota Land Cruiser 120 series, also known as the Toyota Prado in other regions, the equivalent of the Lexus GX 470. It's part of my build process where I, eventually, turn it into an overlanding vehicle. The story is that while buying some offroad wheels, I was offered the third row. Since it didn't come with the car when I bought it, and I had been looking for it, of course I said yes. Now, the car is complete. After having bought the seats, of course I had to try them out, and that's what I've captured in this video. If you are thinking of buying a J120, or if you already own one, but are considering upgrading the car by buying the third row, this video is for you.

@@joseluisnunezrodriguez9559 I think they're called lock assembly rear, but have a look at toyota.epc-data.com/land_cruiser_prado/ to find the exact part name.

I have been trying to get a second row "smaller 40" seat for my United States 120 which is called the Lexus GX470. I have been trying to make captain chairs. That way I can just have passengers walk between the middle seats to hit the third row. Basically, the smaller middle seat on the GX470 is on the right side while the smaller middle seat on the 120 is on the left side. If I have two smaller middle seats I can have captain chairs.

From America 4Runner is a Land cruiser prado here for the men, and the gx is the Land cruiser here that's luxury mostly find soccer moms driving them
Both are great vehicles, lots of potential for mods and great aftermarket support

Now you just need to find the headrest for the middle seat at the back ;) A tip ... Check behind the zipper on one seat :) Or search for this video ;) "Where has my headrest gone? 120 series GX, 8 seats"
hah! lol yes! I received a comment, in Russian, some minutes after posting it (which strangely enough automatically disappeared) that explained that storage location, genius!

Well, I managed to negotiate few bucks off the price of the car, when buying it, putting the missing headrest (among other small things) almost as a deal breaker :)
My heart was racing until I got out of the "stealership" until I parked the car and checked if there really was a headrest.... Thete it was ..

There are guaranteed to be many more as I have 2 cars with several faults and deficiencies yet. :)
If you open the Zip on the 3rd row seat it has the last remaining head rest for the middle seat 3rd row inside.

Hey 👋 absolutely…. not. It’s small back there, so it depends on their height. But where I’m from, 183cm is the average male height. 2 adults fit, for a short drive. It’s great for kids!

Hi Christine. The owner's manual has a chapter dedicated to teach you how, it takes several steps. It's on page 49. Here's a PDF scan of the manual, go to slide 58 (page 49) The chapter is called Folding up third seats.

2nd row seat can't be folded to the side, only the 3rd row. The 2nd row can be tumbled forward. Instructions are on page 47 of the owner's manual, go to slide 56 (page 47) and check the chapter: Tumbling second seats.
