It sounds like surgery has come a really long way since my ex-husband transitioned (starting in 1999). I was with him through the whole thing and beyond (12 years). Back then, a neophallus felt more like an arm... they hadn’t done all these nerve studies. I’m so glad we’ve come along way from there. I’ve heard there is a “myth” that there is no real sexual sensation, but it wasn’t a myth back then.

Yes it has come a very long way since the early days but unfortunately its reputation hasn't. But this is changing now l think as more trans people are talking about their experiences. I will be forever grateful to trans men like your husband who were early pioneers of this incredible surgery

@@jaymefunny7424 Well, yes and no. The arm feels like an arm because of different layers of skin, fat, bone and tendons. Firstly, there is no bone in the Neo-phallus and also the skin is wrapped in a way that has a different structural density than an arm.
For the person itself, it feels like a combination of the clitoral nerves giving off an erotic sensation and and the sensitive skin of the arm providing the rest.
It is very much unlike an arm, since there is just no association with an arm anymore.
Also- it is connected to the base of the pelvis, where dicks usually are. It’s also where the clitoral nerve starts.

Any woman or girl who wants to cut off parts of their arm, have it rolled up to a tube and sewn on to their vagina so they can pee standing up NEEDS therapy. Gosh. I hope you're a counselor or working with medical doctors, because your descriptions are so thorough and thoughtful. They would truly help someone walk through the woods of this transition. I simply came here because of listening to a man who didn't have a successful surgery and now is considering having his useless phallus removed. He has no regrets about transitioning, but his phalloplasty did not work (2006 operations may have something to do with it's non success). It's good to hear the operation is more successful. I wish you all the best. I hope someone is paying you to support FTM men considering this operation. You would be helpful.

@@FinnTheInfinncible This is not a personal friend. It's someone I saw on youtube also. I've never heard the medical transition explained in such detail. It is a leap of faith for the client on the part of the surgeon's skill, and a leap of hope.. Whew... I would encourage you to consult with the medical people who transitioned you to see if they have counselor staff they know who might work with on to explain transition. Since you UNDERWENT it, you have firsthand knowledge that is invaluable. This video is your resume. You could be in charge of a support group and get paid for that work under the supervision of a therapist. If you're interested in doing such work, you might want to get certified or degreed There are paths to either. It won't be easy to get all these ducks in a row, but your skills are far above average. You might want to partner with a MTF person with similar skills and experience. Much larger group to counsel with. It's up to what you feel comfortable doing: in person paid work or less personal video work. There is a market for both. For less affluent people, the video support might be all they can afford. For more affluent people who aren't shy, in person work might be the extra support they need to make it through. Heavens, you could be a counselor for people who think or may be ready for transition. Not just medical. But living as the oppposite gender. Again, firsthand experience from a counselor is unique. Dunno if any of this applies or interests you. I think you have a gift. Happy trails.

@@FinnTheInfinncible Really? Thank you for the words of support, I´ll think about it. But I have already been doing lots of thinking already, like what´s important to me. Sure I would like to get me some cute boyfriend, but the truth is. I am autistic on top of everything, the nerd behind computer and I do not really like to to deal with people face to face. I´ve always acted more like a man, than a woman and now I even look like one with simple haircut. The way my hair grows, how my hairs grow all over my body, no boobs, the way I dress and always did. I do have a daughter and two grandsons and they call me Sofu(grandpa in Japanese). Also I live in the really tight community, the people I told totally were not surprised.-You never acted like a woman. It makes sense. and this one is good. So you now going to date girls? -No I am not going to change anything. And my daughter asked if she is supposed to call me pops, that was odd.
I have realized that my friends never took me as a woman (I am a member of a historic fencing group), there was a dude that came one day and said that he is going to seduce me anyway and the whole group, me including, laughed so hard it shook the floor.
It was a long sleepless night, but I have came to terms with myself. I will always be me and since I really enjoy my solitary life with friends outside my flat, my sanctuary, I am good the way I am. Also I have really good psychiatrist and very good pills.

I so intensely appreciate this video, and it does help me a lot to hear your experiences. I think the thing I worry about most is going through the beginning stages of bottom surgery, because I read other transmasc folks talking about how *long* the healing takes...... And while being that careful and caring to my healing body for that long seems like a small cost comparatively to a lifetime of not feeling quite right; frankly, the idea of not having literally any erotic sensation available to my body in any way for over a year had made me disheartened. The idea that I'd be able to at least use my native anatomy for the period between no sensation and new sensation in a phalloplasty is very helpful to me; and hearing about the not necessarily linear changes in sensation is SO informative and helpful. Thank you so much for posting this, Finn. You're a great help to the community.

I didn’t want it at all at first because I was still somewhat attached to what I have now out of familiarity but your videos not only helped me realize that phallo is exactly what I want, but also helped me finally accept that I’m gay? Thank you so so so much for being so open about this. It's hard to find information on trans folks experiences in text form in a quick google search, and it's even more difficult to actually visualise what they're talking about considering how many medical terms gotta be used. The hand gestures and casual explanation really go a long way to help me understand just what this stuff means.

I share very honestly, about the good and the bad of surgery, its important that people can access balanced information so that they can make informed decisions.

Phalloplasty was meant for men with penis abnormalities, not for women who want to become men. This isn't just another procedure with risks, it's unnecessary, unnatural, perverse harm to the body.

I know that I want top surgery and t but when it comes to bottom surgery I really want phalloplasty but it's terrifying to think about having to take skin from somewhere else

Thank you for covering this topic the way you have! So many people tend to avoid it which (i feel in myself) causes more blind anxiety going into the idea of surgery, plus people who do talk about it tend to be from other countries 😂 thank you so much 💙

My absolute pleasure my friend! Thank you very much for your appreciation and kind words. I really struggled in early day to make decisions with lower surgery, because there was such little info. Now, I make it my mission to creat the kind of content I wished I'd had access too. There are some more blog over on my website, and I am always happy to help if I can finlaygames.com

Referred sensation is not actually as uncommon as you’d think. Nerves are weird and human growth is even weirder. You’re probably familiar with the left arm pain that doctors warn about if you’re having a heart attack. There aren’t any pain sensing nerves around the heart and pericardium, but the body has adapted in such a way that the pain sensation is sent to the nerves of the arm. The swelling irritates specific nerves that lead to the arm. When I have upper right quadrant abdominal pain, especially if it’s gallbladder pain because I have passed a gallstone-0/10, do not recommend-I feel it in my shoulder.
That’s of course not a one-to-one comparison, but I’ll give you one that I’ve discovered and hate. I’ve noticed if that something touches the sole of my left foot in a specific way, I can feel it directly my groin around both sets of labia. It is very awkward and I’m not a huge fan of feet, but it’s there and I think it’s always been there.

Hey there! So to be completely honest I have some differentiating opinions when it comes to this topic, but I do believe people have the right to do what they want to do, no one should ever be treated differently for ANY reason (race, gender, age, religion, sexuality, etc) (and am a homosexual woman myself), but I love and respect that your videos are informative, spoken with an insightful and respectful tone, and are self reflective and also are specific to your personal experiences and not a blanket experience assuming it's the same for everyone. Thanks for sharing!
    Ps
Very happy everything has worked out for you and you healed healthily and found success! ❤
