- I had very low expectations when i bought these glasses online. i really expected Edie to say nothing changed but when she hugged me i knew..
What a time we live in, where i can be told last week my daughter is color blind, and then today i was able to fix it!

I was like 10 when I was finally diagnosed with colorblindness. I could not differentiate green from blue at all. Teachers mostly thought I was being creative or a misbehaving depending on the mood. To the folks wondering how this could possibly happen: it's really not all that rare for things like this to get overlooked. Especially in girls! There is a common misconception it's only something that happens to boys, but it isn't. To the kid it's just how it's always been. How are they to know the colors they saw were "wrong" when they have nothing to compare it to? Unfortunately these kinds of glasses aren't made for my kind of colorblindness yet, but hopefully one day!

We didn’t realise my son was walking around unable to see properly for 6.5yrs. He done the same after getting his glasses. His prescription is +4. He said the tv after looked so realistic and it was like going into the future 😂🤣

Perhaps she liked the grey colour she thought pink actually was... I always loved grey. Also it seems like she can see some degree of pink if it's quite intense like the hot pink...as seen earlier in the clips.

Yes i watch their videos. Love them. I’ve watched Anna since way before she was married. I know they have their seperate days to post their vlog but they live together so I expected them to at least show up in the background. My opinion on the staged color blind video and it still looks fake. Edie trys to act genuine but it doesn’t come off like it.

So happy for Edie! That moment when her world turned to colour was just like that moment in The Wizard of Oz when Julie Garland leaves grayscale Kansas and wakes up in Oz. It is truly a modern miracle that we have glasses that can fix that problem now. I used to know a man who was colour blind but the blindness gave him a gift too he was able to pick out fine detail in things much better than people with colour vision. He was an engineer. Being colour blind is not necessarily a "handicap".
That being said go out and see and celebrate all the wonderful colours and hues the world has to offer girl. 🎉🎉❤

Just an FYI not being a party pooper … since edie is biologically a boy, it is very common for boys to be color blind & blues are the common color deficiency & green. My uncle buys blue pants thinking they are grey lol

Hey, noticed that you were talking about how she now knows what color really looks like, just wanted to point out that colorblindness is caused when the rods and cones in the eye either don't work properly or don't exist, so while the glasses might enhance the colors and make the contrast better, she won't actually see 'real' colors, because glasses can't do anything about what light her eyes are capable of seeing.
I believe other colorblind people have also spoken about how these glasses don't work.

I think it is a very good thing to encourage people to get eye tests reguarly to pick up on issues like this. The sooner the problem is identified, the sooner the person can receive better support.

@LG-Original-Music Who won't test for what? And where are you? In the UK, the suggested age to start eye tests is 3 years. Although 4 years is a common age for parents to decide due to the child beginning school.
@@NotAnotherKuromi the opticians won’t test for colourblindness in the U.K. until around the age of 7. You can have normal eye tests before then though. They used to test for colourblindness with the school nurse as part of the vision and hearing tests, but they don’t do it anymore

For those questioning why they did not know about Edie's color blindness sooner factually, colorblindness is difficult to diagnose in teens and adults. Toddlers and children take the world at face value and our brains adapt or compensate quickly. Color perception is also a bit relative. What some may see as deep blue others may guess as a hue of purple. In Edie's case I imagine it would have been hard to pick up on her color blindness as she sees some vivid colors quite well (i.e. she knew the shirt she was wearing was pink but the light pink sweater looked duller or grey). Just saying, some diagnosis take a bit of time. Judgement doesn't help. At least it was taken seriously now they know and really kind of Dad to get her those cool glasses.
Even if it’s real, the dad is still disgusting and manipulative.
Hope Edie follows the words from her t-shirt and takes it easy. Bless her for discovering a whole new world ❤
