Mr. Townsend. I just want to say I truly appreciate these type of videos. Thank you for taking the time to film this part of your work. This truly helps DIY'ers like me. Thank you sir.
wow... you never realise how complicated it is until someone breaks it down to each detail, then you see why the song is what it is. Devin, you are a musical genius
Love this stuff man!! would really like to see some of the stuff you do with logic too as I dont have PT ,, yet,, obviously there is a lot of tips in these that applies to any daw, and for that i am very grateful! keep it beast man!
I am stunned by the sheer number of tracks... with so much attention to details! This makes my own travels into the world of DAWs seem so barbaric and clumsy.
This is awesome, but where was this last year when i wrote a 3000 word essay on your production style for my degree? XP Really appreciate the insight into your process though, excellent stuff.
Do you have to ask permission to use those samples from movies or is there some kind of a limit like 10secs you can borrow without asking? Sounds like an urban legend to me but anyway appreciate the trouble you have seen making these videos!
I were just doing a stupid comment xD It was not writted seriusly, and it was not intented to be taked seriusly :D Have a good day sir :'D sksbsksbsjdbs

....tell me there's a chance? please Devy??
Deconstruction anyone?
or alternatively a score-scrolling video when The Moth is released? (it being classical)
So sick, you truly are a wizard. Needs about atleast thirty 808's though =P lol
the drum section at 6:00 could be its own minimal track. Genius hidden in the wall of sound, which itself is genius....
Great video!!
LOVE these videos! Thanks Devin :D
Aah, volume envelopes, the producers best friend.

Please do one for a Terria song!
would love to see a ziltoid track!
Wow thanks for that vid!
@FormerlyMrBean667 I doubt he has a protools file for a song he did 10 years ago....
What's that software?
No more cubase ? on to pro tools HD i see ...
Tomnerdery? That's hilarious.
"My logic has some great effects"
Devin Townsend, his logic is far superior to yours.
Shit there's so much stuff! real cool.
what is this song?
"cat people"
Backtrack people, beware the vat people, prepare the cat people
@snuif9: Actually I prefer Cubase because it has a way better MIDI engine. If you only do audio though, Pro Tools a bit better.
@FormerlyMrBean667 he surely would make 15 videos for Earth Day !
you're a genius
Heh, nice stuff.
Wooahwaohao crap mega awesome make me babies ;_;
mind = blown
I tremble before thee
It's funny because "gato" means "cat" in spanish :B
Pretty sure that's the point :)
