Great job, man. My father was good at this type of work, he was a shop foreman and welder for decades. This kind of video brings back memories of watching him ply his trade.
Great stick welding and overall build. Looks like the wobble in your idler pulley is introducing a lot of vibration--I'll bet it will be a lot smoother if you can true that up.
Three of man's best friends, an angle grinder, drill and a welder. Great way to show the build at a higher speed-keeps it interesting and detailed enough to follow. Great job.
I love your build. Being a retired tool & die maker I,m always making stuff in my shop. I now make a few knives &made a 2 HP 2x72 knife grinder. But I love watching guys as you with out the tools I have figure out how to make the things you do. Very well done & thank you for taking your time to make this video for us. I agree forget the trolls that try to put down others. Thanks my friend Fly
nice build! I haven't seen someone power tap a hole in a long time. I did a 2yr machinist vocational training between 2000-2002. Towards the end of my program, I was confident and comfortable enough with my machining skills that I hand start the tap in a vertical mill chuck, then finish the hole running the mill, stopping, braking, and backing out. It was always kinda of a "hold your breath" moment hoping your weren't going to brake a tap off in an expensive piece.
Very nice build, I noticed at the end of the video when it was running the unsupported belt sections were vibrating alot was this a problem at all? if so did tightening the belt tension fix it?
Looks like a hand held belt sander mounted upside down in a vise, it's works well enough, I guess, but one like this would be even better. I do that with mine too. The sander Matthias built is cool but I like this one built from metal a little better, actually I like elements from both and want to incorporate them into my build.
You prolly dont give a shit but if you are bored like me atm then you can watch all the latest movies on InstaFlixxer. I've been binge watching with my gf recently xD
This grinding machine is of high quality, but will probably be difficult to make for an inexperienced craftsman. However, you can see the style of work and the tools used by this wizard. I like it! Thanks to Hassan Abu-Izmero for this video!
That is an elegant design. Sometimes people build pretty boxes and silly things for no reason. You identified a need and then saved yourself a couple thousand along the way. Well done. Subscribed.
I was hoping to encourage you to wear a filter mask when welding. The biggest part of welding rod out sides is made of sand. Silicosis often leads to cancer. It needs to be an N95 rated mask. Just the ones that look like regular dust masks. It's paper like the dust masks but thicker. A respirator would be ideal but I'm guessing your not going to make a living at welding (doing a good job at it though) and are more expensive. Chances of health risk from a project this size alone, well, not to worry, just a good precaution. Thanks for sharing and hope you don't mind my suggestion. Cheers.
Hassan Abu-Izmero Also I noticed you welding zinc plated tubing and essentially breathing in the zinc vapors. Be super careful with that. Metal fume fever is no joke To make it safe, sand/grind off the zinc plating about an inch back from where you are welding.
I thought the same, but definitely in a good way. That's some proper Diresta-inspired building AND filming. Dude's doing a LOT of work in what appears to be a VERY tiny space, and making it happen. A lot of clever use of space. I admit, I cringed a bit at tapping holes in material that thick with a drill, but hey, I've done it too. Cringed while I did it, too! ("Please don't break, please don't break, PLEASE DON'T BREAK..."
sure, less than 20$ counting the motor, the bearings, the grinding discs and all the steel ! makes total sense ! I'm looking forward to do a project of that kind myself but i plan more on 100$ (and i already have the motor and bearings but i probably won't be able to do it with the scrap metal i have at home)
Dude!!! you are awesome, you took broken pieces and made a fully functional 2x72, awesome work... don't listen to haters, they wish they could have your ability and thinking outside of the box. keep up the good work.
So what? His tools weren't free. Neither is the location of his workshop, or the food he that day, or the clothes and shoes and what about the power bill? Surely we should count this in too, if we want to be picky. If you don't have the tools to make this grinder, then you probably can't make it either. So in the end it doesn't even matter.
Albeit building something from scratch is extremely satisfying, I wish these sorts of videos include cost of material and time spent on each project. The juice has to be worth the squeeze.

Hassan, I have watched this video like 5 times....its like watching one of those nature shows where the bears are catching salmon in their mouths, I can watch that all day long. I don't know why I find this video so soothing. I love this video.
Talented young man, amazing what thoughts go through some of our minds, and scary what goes through other's. Keep up the quality craftsmanship, the trades and the old craftsmen that built this world, are dying out quickly. Young blood in the trades is rarity these days, and I fear we're a dying breed. While there are always a few naturals, they too need the minds of the old ones, to guide them now an then, as there is nothing that books, videos and other methods of teaching one's self, can top a man's lifetime of acquired knowledge from those before him passed down, and improved upon by some. That too passed on through the chain of knowledge. Great to see there are those who share their knowledge too, and not secret it away for whatever the reasons are that some do.
+tinbender11 Thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate them! You're absolutely right! This is one of the reasons why I'm doing this. I want to give as much as I know to others, and also showing them how I learn things just by doing it...
Nice Diresta inspired video and build...right down to the "Habu" in most every shot. I like it a lot. Good inginuity and execution. Now it's time to develop your own style. You are good enough to start exploring your own new creative avenues!
Deeply impressed by the heavy workload you put into this one. An overall great build. Two thumbs up. (and to all you downers in the comment section, well.....ante up.......)

From an idea in your head to a tool on the table. Beautiful job. Most impressed.
Thank you!
Great job all action no talking. The best.
Thank you!
Great build, very inspiring to reuse materials that would be tossed. Big fan of recycling materials!

+Bart Black Yeah I know what you mean! I feel always like that...
Thanks man! ;-)
Really enjoy watching your builds. I think they show what can be done with limited tools and space . Keep up the good work.
+FISH HEAD Thanks man!
Great video! Nice build of a good looking tool. Nothing like using a tool that you made yourself. Subscribe!
Thank you!
Felicidades trabajo muy bien echo limpio y hordenado.

Alright, soooo, conclusion from watching this video...... I am not skilled enough to build that myself xD man you did a very good job!
Thanks bro!
He is a mechanic
Thanksagain
Very nice build, I noticed at the end of the video when it was running the unsupported belt sections were vibrating alot was this a problem at all? if so did tightening the belt tension fix it?
The bearing which is connected to the motor, was not centered correctly...
I fixed that, wasn't a problem at all...
I love watching any project that I can use my everlast welder on. I welcome any excuse to weld. This project was very well done!
+Joshua Martin Thanks man! ;-)
Great video. Cool sander. I am excited to see what it will be making.
Thanks bro! But I build this sander not for me, it's for my brother. ;)
Great build.. on a humorous side - did anyone notice he needed a belt grinder to build the belt grinder? :D
Beltception maybe ;)
it doesn't matter anyway but that's not a belt grinder, that's a hand held sander.
it doesn't matter anyway but that's not a belt grinder, that's a hand held sander.
maybe he was building it for someone who did not have one or commissioned him to do one.

Great work and seemingly with no plans! Nice to see you doing old fashioned stick welding (and making a good job of it). I prefer it, myself.
Thanks buddy!

Thanks a lot man!
Can you make the machine that shoots cabbages ? Mr T made a good one back in the day.
7:30 Wait... if I need a belt grinder to build an another belt grinder, how was the world's first belt grinder built?
😂😂😂😂
God created it and then he rested
+Elektoniikka Mestari ;-)

Straight-up genius at work. Artful, skillful, thoughtful. Good work Habu!

necessity is the mother of invention and when u make it yourself it fills u up with pride
