I saw them at the Catalina Bar and Grille here in Los Angeles. 2 shows per night. It wasn't even a full house and you were no more than 60 ft away. After the show they would come out and say hello. They were flawless over the whole set. Incredible. I can hardly wait for them to come back.
This has to be one of their classiest performances. The way they go from acapella to melting seamlessly with the orchestra is simply breathtaking !!! I always feel touched by the Spirit every time I hear this !! Praise God....
When I first heard the song, I thought it was the same arrangement as on their "Alliance" recording. Then I heard the orchestra and chills when up my spine. It does sound like the angels were singing with them. I mean, what do you expect when you ask God to bless your house?
I swear that this is the best I've ever heard them live... The early 90's is when I was first introduced to this awesome group of vocalists via my big sister. I've been a fan ever since.
Wow...can you believe it was that long ago? Time surely flies folks! God has truly blessed them over the years...proving once again that music can touch souls like nothing else can. Truly a gift.
Anyway, the arrangement is simply fantastic. Say what you please, I'll always be a die-hard fan of this group, perhaps a little more of their early work. Yet what Take 6 are doing today is still high in the sky. Thanks for answering!
I think I'm going to transcribe this so I can play it on the keyboard. Absolutely love this arrangement of "Bless This House". This weekend is perfect, considering we have a new president in the "house".
i remember reading somewhere that the initial arrangement was done by mark, but merv touched up on it alot. you can definitely hear merv's influence in it.
I read the comments and everyone is giving Mervyn Warren credit for this arrangement. You are "half" correct. According to the credits, it stated this song was " Arranged by Mark Kibble & Mervyn Warren Originally Sung by Alliance". Usually they put the person who was the 'chief' arranger first...so let's also give Mark Kibble his credit. Fantastic arrangement and the guys sung it beautifully.
OMG they sound like angels (as usual)!!! The arrangement is beautiful. Merv did a song for Boyz 2 Men (I Do).It's unlike any of their other songs. Check it out. I wish I could be in on one of their jam sessions.
This video was released on my birthday... Truly amazing Jem. They released this song on vinyl in 1986. The LP name "Something Within" by Alliance. I've bought the Vinyl with the intentions of converting it to digital format for all to enjoy. But until that's done, you can listen to it's current representations here: ua-cam.com/play/PL99208D1AD9C889D5.html
My Acapella group rankings would haveto be 5) Swingle Singers 4) GLAD 3) The Blenders 2) The Real Group and of course these guys at the top....1) Take 6.
@6411Sandra You're correct but you have to admit since he's not there, the arrangements come nothing close to when he was..... make you think.... all in all it's all beautiful music.
Never get bored of listening to it even though it's been years... I'm blessed.
I don't know what Heaven sounds like but I'm sure it sounds alot like this! Brought tears to my eyes! God bless Take 6 ;D
I seriously got the shivers from 3:21 - 3:36! SERIOUSLY!!! So unexpected! So amazing! Oh how today's music needs this type of singing!
I remember this performance of Take 6 with the Boston Pops on a PBS special as kid. Never thought I would see it again. Thanks for the treat!
Me too!

Claude told us it was Mervyn who arranged this one :-)

Best ever arrangement of this song end of story. Flawless performance

Keep singing for the glory of the "MASTER".
Wow listen too when that Orchestra came in just awesome!!! Those are some sick chord changes!!!
I swear that this is the best I've ever heard them live... The early 90's is when I was first introduced to this awesome group of vocalists via my big sister. I've been a fan ever since.
I know if I was there, I would be fighting the urge to stand up during the song and start clapping. This is just too wonderful!

This video gets me every time. Beautiful 😍
An amazing performance. Breathtaking!

Oh, how I wish I had been there to experience this live...

Cada vez que la oigo me gusta más. Son tremendos.
Blew Me Away!
This is so incredible. Mervyn Warren is a genius!
Mark was the primary arranger on this.
OMG they sound like angels (as usual)!!! The arrangement is beautiful. Merv did a song for Boyz 2 Men (I Do).It's unlike any of their other songs. Check it out. I wish I could be in on one of their jam sessions.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
yes this is an awesome version. This and Beniamino Gigli's are the best!
oua ! Un français qui commente une video de take 6 ???!!! vachement rare !!
It's 91.I wonder who arranged this. Whether it was still done, to some extent, by my Merv. It certainly gives you a sense of Mervyn's touch.
It is...
@Thomasterofchoir I transcribed it...

Wish the quality was better, but I really love the arrangement. Did they only do the two songs at this venue?
This must have been RIGHT after Joey joined, if it is from 1991.
Do somebody knows where I can find the sheet music ?
Where was this performed? Just wondering. Also, I've never got to see the famous Carnegy Hall performance by Take 6. Anybody?
@NuUTubeBabe yes ! This and Get Away Jordan
Holy Shit!...the one time an explicit phrase is the only option to capture what I want to communicate. "WOW" doesn't do it.

what is the name of the band that played with them?
voiceisclear thanks a lot!
The Boston Pops Orchestra.
Makes you want to tell the orchestra to take a coffee break.
