      I wish the US had more like these. Not about height. Not about greying out. A punchy whip of a ride that you can enjoy with only 2-3 "purposefully" smooth inversions. You can tell how guests hold their arms out during the launches; it's fast enough to make you scream but not so intense you have to grip the restraint and brace your neck.

      @@brutalhellhamerer No problem. I just realised you were calling me GP lol. I am 51 and been a coaster enthusiast since 1998, where I have travelled all over the world from Australia (my home) just to do the newest and best. I am near 700 now. It would be higher, but I refuse to ride kiddie coasters/family coasters for a credit, credit hunters drive me insane. If I am at a park, why would I waste an hour queuing for a boring coaster when I can use that hour on the stuff I love? That's how I look at it. The lowest I will go is, say, firechaser express at Dollywood, and there is no limit at all to how extreme I will go. I will ride anything. My first looping coaster was Medusa Floorless in 2001 and we rode it 43 times (Middle May, dead day at the park). And my first ever hyper coaster was Desperado in 1998, then my second one was Apollo's Chariot in 2001! Lots of great memories. I will ride Mahuka next year on my EU trip. The Raptors still look a lot more intense (I have ridden them all thus far, even stunt pilot) however Intamin are catching up. Maybe the 3rd one will be really extreme!

    Science question: Does anyone know if the tyre brake system regenerative, in that is electrical energy produced from the tyres used elsewhere? Or is this just an interesting idea I had?

    • @CoasterTalkSource
      @CoasterTalkSource  3 місяці тому +1

      I don't know it. However, I don't believe this is what's done here.
      The brakes have the same motors as the launch and spinn-up to match the train speed when entering the brakes, to then slowly lower its speed.
      Which means the motor is powered the whole time and not acting as a generator.
      I might be wrong, as I am not an electrical engineer, but I was under the impression that you cannot power and generate at the same time.

    Great quality shots! Just some editor advice if you want people to use these shots, be sure to leave some extra time(2-3 secs at the beginning and end) on each shot for people to cut as they like.

    • @CoasterTalkSource
      @CoasterTalkSource  2 місяці тому +1

      Hey, we did some questioning in the community, and it turned out people would rather have a "ready to go" sequence to take in their video than to trim too much of each clip themselves. That's also why there is a tightly cut sequence at the start.
      For those of us, who need additional handles for their project, we offer the source material. - process not yet automated, though.

    Thanks for the great footage! I love the look and flow of this ride. Especially the "arch" that is travelled twice is a great idea and beatiful entrance to the ride.
    But I still don´t get the recent fascination with solo-seat rides! This, the Raptors and those Zamperla Enterprise knock-offs all have single seats.
    You get low capacity with high-maintenance wheel assemblies (12 wheels per rider!) and where is the fun in riding alone? It´s such a buzzkill for me.

    • @CoasterTalkSource

      For me: I love to sit so close to the track and be right in the center of the designed heartline for the layout. It really kicks differently when the world is almost perfectly rotating around you.

      The track is very smooth, as it is to be expected from a new Intamin; however, the train has a slight rattle that is a little stronger in the back. Nothing that impacts the ride experience, but it is there. I suspect the small wheels are less forgiving than the regular ones.
