Good review, had mine for 4years & done well over 100 trips with it. It's been amazing it's done what it has & lasted without a problem. Just needs looking after with common sense. The valves, you get used to, the seat is best used without inflating the bottom & placing a thin cushion or nothing there instead. This also gives more leg room. The paddles are great if you carry a roll of insulation tape & just tape over the joints two layers. The cargo net can easily be improved etc. In my opinion, it's been the bargain of my life.
That's good that you mentioned the valve. The bottom dial can get stuck. But if we continue to turn the top cap/dial (without lifting it off) then that will function like a wrench to open the bottom dial.
@@im_always_adventuring Welcome. The Intex K1 Challenger was my first kayak some years ago. I have since bought a hard fishing kayak as it's more suitable for the often windy, wavy bay near my apt.
Excellent review and gorgeous photography. I just got this kayak for $70 on amazon. Yes it's cheap but it works and all for the cost of around 2 or 3 kayak rentals. There are a few excellent packing-up videos on UA-cam.
Hi Courtney, The green triangle piece is a footrest. Both me and you are too short to use it efficiently so it's best to put a larger inflatable cushion (or anything that will fill that space without damaging the kayak) to have some bracing. 🙃 Vinyl is not reinforced here as it is on a SUPboard. It stretches easily so most of durability issues come from overinflation. Nice views out there 😉
I just ordered this from Amazon and can't wait to try it. That lake is gorgeous!
Hope you enjoy it! And it is, especially in the fall 🧡
Thanks for the great review! I purchased it and am happy with it. Your review answered some of the questions I would have had in advance.
That's great to hear!
