+Félix Deschambault If you're asking this question of hyottoko, I don't know what you're talking about, as these things are conspicuously absent from the original song as well. Hyottoko did a perfect replication of how this song sounds on the album/single, which served to illustrate for me exactly why I don't think this song is that great. Where is Steve Harris indeed? The Steve Harris I used to know didn't just ride root 8th notes for the whole song...he made the bass lines interesting, and unique, and powerful. I guess he's getting old. Don't get me wrong, I'd still rather listen to this song than any of the crap from modern artists clogging the airwaves these days, but for something created by the guy who used to be the fastest bassist on the planet, it comes off as sorely lacking.
+Félix Deschambault Speed of light is more of a "guitar song" then a bass one, there are other songs on the album they could pick like "the red and the black" which would be interesting for a bass player but much more complex.
