Cordelia de Castellane’s Flourishing Flower-Filled French & English Garden | Notes From a Garden
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 лют 2025
- Dior Maison & Baby Dior Artistic Director Cordelia de Castellane lives a life full of flowers: ‘I always say that a house without flowers has no soul.’ Designing collections of exquisite homeware and childrenswear which are often inspired by flowers - and by her muse, Christian Dior - it should come of no surprise that Cordelia’s weekend escape is a living and breathing work of art.
As we tour Cordelia de Castellane’s dream garden, it’s easy to notice the parallels between her formative years and her botanical paradise: ‘I grew up spending half of my time in nature as I was in Switzerland, so for me it was back to my roots to be back in the countryside on the weekends.’ Come along as we explore Cordelia de Castellane’s blooming French & English garden in the north of France.

Omg! I wish this episode was longer. Would love more detailed tour of this amazing garden ...and home! A dream place.
We need more
You can buy her book which features this house. She works for Dior Home so she shows a lot of that too.
ua-cam.com/video/AkXVDgha7ug/v-deo.htmlsi=xz_RGgbejPb4sQPR here is more of the house.
I agree, a home without flowers is an empty space. The luxury of having a picking garden is beyond my dreams.
More of her home tour please, that was beautiful 👌👌👌
Yes ❤
The dining space Cordelia created from where the old wood pile was kept is quite lovely. Who wouldn't want to have lunch there overlooking the beautiful garden squares? Dreamy.
J'adore. So lovely to see both French and English gardens in one place.. Everything so natural, tasteful, not forced..
Nothing can beat France !
If you have a great place like this, you may tell to your self "Look how blessed you are" 🥰🙌🏼
A french and english garden in one property, spectscular! Beautiful garden and garden spaces!❤
This is my favourite UA-cam series - love them!
Please show the inside of the house It's wonderful
I love english gardens and listening to Castellane talk about the inspiration between the flowers and her design work was really nice. I like how artists/designers are so idiosyncratic in their tastes and so intuitive about what they like/don't like. thank you for the lovely video/interview. oh, all those peonies at the end, those were so gorgeous. they always remind me of soft puppies
What a charming house and lovely garden! Those roses and peonies are gorgeous! I also like her greenhouse in the robin's blue egg color(??), it's different and it's hers. If she's happy with her garden and spending time with family and friends, good for her! I like watching these home and garden videos to get inspiration and they help keep me motivated to stay on track in my own garden even though mine is on a much smaller scale than Cordelia's! 🙂🥰
Absolutely love this garden
I need to see the house😍

Truly wonderful....
Que hermosa gardin, la felicito.
Beautiful ❤
Sublime
Beautiful garden but Milan Hajsinek should be credited in your description
In the pergola (former woodshed) she has blue larkspur with white nigella in bud vases on the table -both can be grown from seed and if you do it now, or as soon as the last frost in your area, and you could recreate that floral display. Same with the sweetpeas in terracotta jars on the greenhouse table. I am passionate about gardening, and this is perfection and dreamy.
This is, of course, a beautiful garden that everyone would like to have. However, it also looks as if 20 gardeners were busy with it before the video shoot. Every flowerpot is new and has no water edge, there are no weeds, etc.
How does it feel to have the house and garden of your dreams?
Aren't we all obsessed to have a huge pastelcoloured greenhouse???
These people "took some glasses from Venice", because money is no issue, they don't " buy" things. ( Yet all they're doing here is 1 big advertisement, they're not stupid, n'est ce pas?!)
Always lovely to see an English cottage garden or jardin de curé or any English style inspired filled to the brim borders opposed to french style individual planted with apparent soil or low soilcoverage.
But all that's personal taste.
This garden still is too manicured and the " je ne sais quoi" might come over the years. Let go ideals of static beauty, let go of your security, loosen up those patches by taking some risks and clearing out straight lines, those edges are like mathematics, gruelling to nature.
;-)
Skipped the pills, nah?
I think Cordelia was simply doing a literal translation from French to English when she chose to say "took" instead of "bought"
You're rather self opinionated BE, chill, people can have the garden the dream about and this one is sublime!
E.g. "prendre" in French means to acquire
@@PaolaEnergya utiliser prendre au lieu d'acheter, haha, same idea. Funny you bring this up, most people taking things from shops are considered shoplifters in the U.K. In Venezia and France also.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
mas linda très beau
What are the beautiful blue flowers?

No shots of the staff? 😏
