The sound track alone would put the third man on my list. Michael Cain has one of the best lists yet. I've shown many of these to my ex girlfriend who was much younger than I and she loved them also.
None of these films are _pre-code_ if you are referring to the _Hays Code_ that is. It was enforced in Hollywood for films made between 1934 and 1968 I believe.
I have got movie DVDS of Michael Caine Anthony Quayle Donald Sutherland Judy Geeson Donald Pleasance Robert Duval John Standing Jenny Agutter and Larry Hagman in The Eagle Has Landed with Angie Dickinson and Nancy Allen in Dressed To Kill with Pierce Brosnan in The Fourth Protocol with John Vernon and Donald Pleasance in The Black Windmill with Peter Ustinov in Ashanti with Trevor Howard Robert Shaw Laurence Olivier Kenneth More Edward Fox Christopher Plummer Barry Foster Ian McShane Susannah York Ralph Richardson and Curt Jurgeons as a German officer in The Battle Of Britain I am dedicating these movie DVDS to my old school friends who are both sisters as I hope to see them both again very soon to Chris Marie and Hester Brand from Billyxxxxx
I am a war buff and really loved his role as Col Vandeleur in a Bridge too far.❤️

He has good taste!
Outstanding list!!!
Interesting, I'll have to try to watch some of these movies, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow...but soon...
. . . and for the rest of your life. LOL!
😂😂😂😂😂😂 thanks for that. What a film
So much more at this level, too. Pre-code films are amazing.

I share all my top movies with michael caine ...wow who knew?
Sierra Madre, Casablanca and The Third Man make it to my top 10 list too.
Michael Caine has excellent taste in films. Three Bogart movies, how about that.
Totally agree with Michael. Love film noirs, the only one in miss in his list is Double Indenity... Bless you, Michael Caine!

What, no Jaws 4? Seriously, I thought "Sleuth" would be in there.
_Sleuth_ is definitely an excellent movie, but I'm sure Michael is too humble to pick one of his own movies as a favorite.
I love Sidney Greenstreet. Nice little dossier of legendary films at the end of a long stage career. Charade was sort of knock-off Hitchcock.
Why did Bogart in Sierra Madre sound like the Joker in the Dark Knight, lol
You mean why does the Joker sound like Roy Hobbs.
Lol
Evidently he hasn't seen the 10 I've seen.
Charade was terrible.
Sez the guy who hangs out in the trees with chimpanzees.
