Really excellent video Zack. I sometimes have a problem with early extension and maintaining my spine angle. Your instructions make a lot of sense, so I have been practicing to feel I'm locking my butt in place at set up and maintaining the same angle through release. I see what you mean how it helps activate the glutes to produce a powerful swing. Thanks again.
I am planning on doing another video about early extension soon.
I've ridden my bicycle by that course: gorgeous area!!!
Jimmy Ballard said place a dime where the sun don’t shine and don’t allow it to fall out. Crude way of validating your take on use of glutes in golf swing. Thanks for this instruction
I would have to disagree with the dime advice. Keeping your glutes fired through the whole motion will put too much tension in your lower body, create curvature in the spin, lock up your hips from flow, slow your rotation, and when it counts to create power at impact you won’t be able to add anything extra in. Tom thanks for watching and I appreciate the comment!
So arms and upper body is passive when u r using glutes?
Tension in your upper body is a killer to flow. The upper body should follow your lower body. The upper body should never sequence first on the downswing. This is where back pain creeps in. When you sequence properly the arms will feel more passive in creating power. You should not get the feeling of chopping wood. The feeling of skipping rocks or throwing a frisbee is closer to the feeling. Focus on the body movement and keeping the club in front.
How hips rotate in downswing?
@VimMitt the hips are a vital part of your body rotation. They lead the upper body, help move the knees into the correct position, and aide in your weight transition. Check out my hip tilt video and hip bump video. Both are good for better understanding the hip movement.
Love this...but..I find the background music distracting...you don't need it
Bobby, Thank you for watching and the feedback! I always go back and forth on that.
i didn't even notice the music until i read this comment..
