    Melissa I just couldn't agree with you more❤ so many beauty UA-camrs are always repeating the same mistake....they go in with lighter shades of concealer instead of using a shade that suppose to match their complexion.Sad thing is most of them are younger and think they are actually helping the beauty community with their tips.There is a wrong way and a right way and thank you for showing the beauty community the right away of applying makeup. Without Wayne Goss & You Melissa there would be a huge void in the makeup community here on UA-cam.❤

      Agreed!!! When I first got back into makeup, I went with a lighter concealer and it always looked HORRIBLE - dry, cakey, grey cast showing through in inner corners. I started to think concealer just did not work for me until one day I accidentally got one a little darker than normal but it actually matched me perfectly and it looked great!! I went back and got shades that matched me as close as possible in concealers I tried in the past and thought were horrible and those worked well too!!! Makes such a difference to use a shade that matches!

    I stopped powdering under my eyes because it ages me. Even Pat McGrath does. So I learned a tip from Mary at Glitzy Fritzy. To avoid creasing get a sponge after you apply concealer and spray it with setting spray. My eyes look so much better!

      Do you use a damp sponge?

    • @sherrypettit5552
      @sherrypettit5552 6 днів тому +2

      @@maryrose7842 no. The setting spray wets the sponge. I either use a flat sponge or a tiny sponge. But you can use the edge of a regular sponge. You can try dampening the sponge a little bit I guess if you want. If you let me know how it works. Ok?

    I enjoyed this video even though some of it doesn’t apply to me. Despite my age I still have combo skin in winter and slightly oily skin in the summer. I need all the powder. 😂 Plus the powder I use blurs my under eye lines and pores. I love Jen Phelps, she is fantastic. I just watched a recent video Kelly Gooch did last week about blush placement among things and how while lifting is popular especially amongst mature women it isn’t always best. Our faces are all different shapes. I have always had a narrow face and when I lost volume with age it got worse. I need to place products to fill out my face rather than lift it with everything (despite it being trendy to do so.) I’d love your take on face shapes and makeup etc. I am a former makeup artist so I tend to do my own thing for my own face and incorporate trends when they suit me.

      Hi Carey. You're so right! Face shape needs to be taken into account everytime. And I think personal preference too. No matter what, we have the right to "decorate" our faces how we like & what we think looks good. Trends come on & out of fashion all the time.

    Melissa, did you misstate the source of that flat brush you used for the Pixi undereye brightener cream? I swear that's from Jen Phelps' collaboration with Doll 10 - not Sigma. I have two sets of her brushes, they are finest quality and have a great feel, well-balanced in the hand. I love your videos, especially if they involve in-depth technique details.

    Considering the method you showed a while back in which you lightly powder the face before foundation, would you still use that method and dust with powder over the color corrector before the foundation?

    • @MrsMelissaM
      @MrsMelissaM  3 дні тому +1

      I use that on days when I want my makeup to stay all day. And when it's really humid. It works great then too. You could definitely use powder with this technique too. Just powder after your primer & before color corrector
