These videos of astronauts educating us and sharing their experience always make me smile. Nice to see Kelly heading back up there for a year to share more of his experiences with us!
+Ashton “Nauct” Simmons ME TOO!!!! OMG I can't stop laughing. I imagine little pieces of asparagus just floating around after loosening from the package and hitting them in the face and stuff hahahahaha. I would be finding that package though cause that is valuable food!!!
Thank you for sharing this with us team ISS. Wish I was there with you all. THANK YOU all for your service and advancing our understanding of life beyond our earthly limits. Keep up the great work! Godspeed
All the space videos I've seen just make me appreciate our planet more. Maybe it's telling us that the more we look outside, the more we should be concentrating on making our planet right.
True, but getting rid of the benefits and technology that space travel has given us, would set human civilization back half a century or more. Also, other Scholars have pointed, out instead of destroying our planet through strip mining, drilling and industrial pollution. We could gather some of our mineral resources from outer space.
whoever thought you would be told to make sure you "drink" all your dinner so you can pee it back in to the supply chain? LOL The narration moves a little "slow", but all in all, a great video. Thank you Commander Kelly for taking the time to educate us! I thoroughly enjoyed the material.
How could anyone give these videos a thumbs down? The astronauts don't have to make them. Obviously they are not actors but they are incredibly fascinating!
The Lord bless Mr. Kelly and NASA because provides future and possible business for the future, it is very organized specially having teams like Mr. Kelly following guidances to make the blessings last much more , the Lord bless.
1st Time I've seen Your posts on the ISS. Amazing what you're doing & experiences are like. Merry Christmas to everyone UP there and my best Wishes to All. Del Brown 🎉
Thank you very much for sharing this. I am a 2nd and 3rd grade teacher and my group is studying astronauts. Tomorrow we are learning about what astronauts eat and this video is perfect! Thank you very much!
Even though I consider the word 'Amazing to be Over Uses; but watching these NASA staff and listening to them; to me "They are literally AMAZING'..... II have no Idea HOW they ever learned all that they must know to have the Skilled work that they do. THEY ARE A HELP TO US AND OUR PLANET; I am Grateful for them and UA-cam.
When that Russian flew behind him while he was eating his stew, he should have acted shocked and yelled, "Who the hell was THAT? I never saw that guy before! Where did he come from?"
The point of the ISS is to expand our horizon and go beyond our limits. Even if you think they do nothing useful look at it for what it is one of the greatest engineering achievements in the history of humanity. People who feel that space exploration is a waste of money do not understand nor see the bigger picture of what it means that we have created something amazing and we now have humans living in space. This might not mean much to you but to me it is awe inspiring and I know I'm not alone.
Brandon Bennetzen The Americans don't take alcohol on the space station, the Russians however take gallons of it up everytime they launch. They claim it's to sterilise equipment but we all know they are drinking it.
Hey commander, I'm not sure if you would ever see this but, You seam so Lonely :"(. Do you ever miss "home" earth? Family, people in in public? I know it's your job and duty and I am very proud of you, sir. You are the type of people who make "America" God bless
How isn't it safe to eat afterwards? I think you believe radiation to be harmful because of what it can do to LIVING cells. In this case, the radiation treated foods should be perfectly fine to eat without much, if any, risk.
Irradiated food does not become radioactive afterwards, just like food that has been in sunlight for a while does not start to shine. Radiation in this case usually means hard X-rays, which are exactly like light in every way except that they have a shorter wavelength. Imho, the term "irradiated food" isn't very specific. "X-ray pasteurized food" would have been a more descriptive term.
if you have a microwave you have had food that has been treated by radiation. Of course, used to heat it up. Not exactly as the irradiated food on orbit, but same idea :)
LOL, "The asparagus floated away somewhere.... not too sure where it went." #Spacefrontierproblems! Lol, thank you for your service Cpt. Hopefully you can continue with your expeditions for years to come
Suzanne S Thats actually a good point.... Involuntary night-time "emissions" can happen if one doesn't upkeep "maintenance" I imagine it happens much like how it does on earth(into a tissue.)
What stereo system? ? The noise is a bunch of fans they have to keep on at all times to filter the air from all the moisture of peoples breath. They have to keep the fans on.
2 years later and don’t you dare say that about my dude, he selected the candy coated almonds cause they look better on camera for us!!! The sacrifice!
I could only imagine what kind of decompression all your joints would experience! I wonder if a herniated disc or inflammation of joints would heal or at least feel better with no gravity? Great video, I really enjoyed watching.
It looks very fun to eat in the space though you need to recyle every moisture, even your urine, you can collect. Also look at the tunnel style entrance and exit filled with bumpers (?) that you can fly through. This is a dream! Thank you for the video.
AlienGreen7 Velcro, in it's early days, was heavily used on space flights and I wouldn't be surprised if they still did use it quite a bit. It just seems like a perfect fit.
It must be great living up there. a day to day life floating around with highly intelligent co-workers from all over the world, above our home planet, in a cozy environment having a hot meal and watching TV just chillin out.
These videos of astronauts educating us and sharing their experience always make me smile. Nice to see Kelly heading back up there for a year to share more of his experiences with us!
Me too! I love these. I could watch these for days.
Zack Young wow Zack you ARE young lol

+Ashton “Nauct” Simmons lmfao that is literally what i'm laughing at. LOL
+Ashton “Nauct” Simmons All I can think is "FOD!!!?!?" (Foreign Object Debris/Damage, military term)
+Ashton “Nauct” Simmons ME TOO!!!! OMG I can't stop laughing. I imagine little pieces of asparagus just floating around after loosening from the package and hitting them in the face and stuff hahahahaha. I would be finding that package though cause that is valuable food!!!
me tooo..haha..i thought only my house..
Same here.
I love how he's just so casual, like "yeah, a package of my space food floated off somewhere in this space station. NBD, we'll find it sometime."
@@tjf_1197 you can and its way more dangerous than spilling it on earth.
@@bmxscape water is recycled food stains the filter or walls, not dangerous idiot

ChrissyBoy6661 lol, I love it
I do particularly love how you can "lose" a packet of asparagus throughout the ISS. I'm sure they found it a few days/weeks later :D
I'm loving the sign in the back that says speed limit 17,500
Life of an astronaut "ahh my asparagus floated away again" 3 days later "Ahhh there's my asparagus"

💙💙Love this! Commander Kelly and his twin brother ...both legendary US astronauts of the Twin Paradox👬
They should make the packaging edible
Then the food wouldn't last as long and the packages would spoil, not to mention they'd be heavier.
About a year ago I had the great honor of meetin captain Scott kelly it was truly amazing and I really admire everything you ro
That must have been really nice:)
I want to be on there so badly
What a great video! Thanks Scott Kelly and NASA!💚
Could u show the first few hours of an astronaut. Be interesting to see he/she feeling sick and watch how they cope

I've always wondered what they do if they really have to fart... do they but their butts up against an air duct? I would
great video! watching it with my 2 year old daughter. she just said "Look at the floating man!!" lol. Keep the videos coming

Gr8t video Scott , thanks for showing us here on Earth how things are done in Space.. Pretty awesome !

scott Kelly your my hero man I want to be just like you when I get old enough. quick question how long did it take you to become an astronaut?
it takes quite a while with all the training and preparation and everything
Thank you. This provides a real sense, rather than an exaggerated sense, of what it's like to live aboard the ISS.
When that Russian flew behind him while he was eating his stew, he should have acted shocked and yelled, "Who the hell was THAT? I never saw that guy before! Where did he come from?"
We are kindred spirits lol. I thought the same thing. Should have done a "Solaris" parody :D
Chris Hadfeld made the space station a magical and entertaining place. This guy is just putting me to sleep. BRING BACK CHRIS!
This guy is the best

I love these vids. Thank you for showing us daily life aboard the ISS.
6:39 there's a fly in ISS? or an alien insect?
+Ade Prisma Pranayuda Yeah, In School Suspension usually has lots of flys. They are very annoying
+Ade Prisma Pranayuda Hehehehee that was really funny to read but no.that's a water bubble being sucked into the recuperator.
Soo awesome! coolest thing ever!!
More videos like this please!!!! love it love it love it!!!!!!
I would spend about one of those months just "throwing" food in the air and eating it like pac man!
Thank you Commander Scott Kelly for the ISS food and beverage demo!!
Thanks for your love 💝 and support all through this times
I would love to go to space
Hey commander, I'm not sure if you would ever see this but, You seam so Lonely :"(. Do you ever miss "home" earth? Family, people in in public? I know it's your job and duty and I am very proud of you, sir. You are the type of people who make "America" God bless

Great videos, i love this.
Would the no gravity effect the wifi speed?
internet speed there is faster than in your home😀
dark knight gaming pshh year cause they're literally A satellite!! lol
Lol yeah
There's gravity
I would love to see an updated version of this to see how things have changed.
He said they use radiation for the food to prevent bacteria? How is that safe to eat afterwards!? Still it's cool to see what they can eat up there!
How isn't it safe to eat afterwards? I think you believe radiation to be harmful because of what it can do to LIVING cells. In this case, the radiation treated foods should be perfectly fine to eat without much, if any, risk.
Food irradiation

if you have a microwave you have had food that has been treated by radiation. Of course, used to heat it up. Not exactly as the irradiated food on orbit, but same idea :)
+XxToMsGiRL182xX there are different types of radiation. Not all radiations hangs around for hundreds or thousands of years.
I love it how you can float in space and its like flying and floating LIKE SUPERMAN
The guy going past behind at 9:49 must have thought: "I'm fucking famous"
Thank you so much. From the 🇬🇧
Its awesome feeling. Really i feel i am also i space
LOL, "The asparagus floated away somewhere.... not too sure where it went." #Spacefrontierproblems! Lol, thank you for your service Cpt. Hopefully you can continue with your expeditions for years to come
How to pop on space?
Thank you for sharing your space experience. I shall work harder on getting a grip on being a glutton, and eating the wrong stuff.
How do the females deal with their periods?
Barbara JM Better question, how do men deal with women dealing with their periods up there?
How do women deal with men ejaculating. Women can stop periods with contraception anyway.
Suzanne S Thats actually a good point.... Involuntary night-time "emissions" can happen if one doesn't upkeep "maintenance" I imagine it happens much like how it does on earth(into a tissue.)
glee bee haha that’s gross af. But if they do it with urine...
Hope we see more of Scott in more spacemissions up in the ISS, thanks for shearing this awsome!
you think nasa of all people could fix the stereo problem on a fucking video
What stereo system? ? The noise is a bunch of fans they have to keep on at all times to filter the air from all the moisture of peoples breath. They have to keep the fans on.
You can only hear the left speaker.
Thanks I love your videos they help me see what my future job might be like
it is legit my dream to eat food floating in the air
Hey Baldy why dont you do an hour long live stream all in one shot?
Hey, why do you not become the respectable person your parents thought you were going to be?
The presentation was a bit dry just like the food.
Don't think they are hired for their personality traits!
luma62183 Except they are, haha.. They take quite extensive personality tests and are interviewed several times.
Chris P that makes sense now that I think about it. Good thinking !
2 years later and don’t you dare say that about my dude, he selected the candy coated almonds cause they look better on camera for us!!! The sacrifice!
I just watched a man eat for over 17 minutes.... And I very much enjoyed it. Thanks for the video!
Bear Grills would love it up there.
Thanks commander Scott Kelly - Ciccero Klima (Brazil)
Hahaha!... uh, the asparagus floated away somewhere... I don't know where :)
Thanks for your love 💝 and support all through this times
Very insp and good sciense video! One of the best video and dude on youtube.
My mom tells me off for say 'uhm' , now i'm going to say even astronauts say it :p
Looks like a small library that store foods in every cases.
Never thought food should that organized.
Flying M&M's?!? What if there were flying sausages!!
I could only imagine what kind of decompression all your joints would experience! I wonder if a herniated disc or inflammation of joints would heal or at least feel better with no gravity? Great video, I really enjoyed watching.
“Rehydrate level 4 please!”
Amaya Cypret "You sure can hydrate a pizza!"
125happyguy YES!!!
I love the transitions where he just floats away
I always think space and military food looks so good for some reason
Gavin Ferguson they aren't bad actually. you can order all different kinds of MREs online.
Kristen King i sell mre's go to the sportsmansguide.com theyre good
It looks very fun to eat in the space though you need to recyle every moisture, even your urine, you can collect. Also look at the tunnel style entrance and exit filled with bumpers (?) that you can fly through. This is a dream! Thank you for the video.
guess they must use alot of velcro in space ?
AlienGreen7 Velcro, in it's early days, was heavily used on space flights and I wouldn't be surprised if they still did use it quite a bit. It just seems like a perfect fit.
AlienGreen7 They also use a lot of duct tape too.
