I would make one adjustment to this build, and that would be to get rid of the grip and use the 40-round magazine and just use the mags of holding.
The better the handling, the more critical hits you will get in aiming and in tac-stance.
The rate of fire helps preserve ammo, in my opinion. So, if you are getting a lot of critical hits, you will be using less ammo.
When you trapped yourself in that corner, I felt as though you need a secondary weapon with power, like a shotgun with the field upgrade Frenzied Guard.
This is my suggestion build for a shotgun for Closed Quarter Encounters/Combat:
Bryson 890
Barrel: 16" Bryson Shockwave
Underbarrel: Jak Slash
Stock: Sawed Off Mod
Magazine: 5 Shell Mag
Ammunition: 12 Guage Dragons Breath
I use Cryo Freeze Ammo because science says that magnesium and ice are an exosive combination. When magnesium reacts to ice, its reaction is hyperactive. I've used it, and zombies deteriorate, so to speak.
