I often wonder why people have a need to "remix" VNV Nation('s) music with only a few exceptions ― However, this is such an exception. My Industrial/EBM/Dark Synth-wave roots go back many, many decades, but when I first heard VNV Nation I was astonished over Ronan Harris' amazing talents and I was automatically addicted. Then after getting to know him personally, it only deepened my appreciation. I'm no musician by any mean, except for working as Sony's Senior Editor, but I met some of the brightest artist's of the Underground Subculture. These people are extremely friendly and it's often very easy to get to know them, if you approach anyone with a good attitude, but always have a great sense of humor with a touch of sarcasm to match. David this remix is simply magical, so I'll pass this onto Ronan; however, I did cruise through your work and I'm impressed enough to start following yourself. My only question is why have you stopped making music.... ??? I understand many don't have the time and money to "live the dream" on a fulltime basis, but I'm simply curious David what has stopped you.... ??? Please, there's no disrespect intended, but "Black Ashes", "I'm Free Here With You", and "Rest" is outstanding work. My Best ―

The bands I am in are Sun Goes Dark and Rare Facture. I have also done a few remixes over the years that you should be able to find on UA-cam. Black Ashes and those other songs you heard are from around 2002, so I am definitely overdue for a solo album with guest singers . I’ve always meant to do that, but time is definitely against me. So I love doing music and will always do it…even if that means there are months/years in between releasing stuff. The frustration for me is I love writing and creating music, but I just don’t have it in me to manage, sell, or push my music. I would have needed a team to really make myself known at all and there was never time for me to really find those people. @@davidburdickremix A long-time friend of mine Daniel Graves of Aesthetic Perfection also hated having to master, edit, manage bookings, arrange transportation, etc. that goes with the music industry is overwhelming for anybody to endure; however, it doesn't mean anything with todays music platforms. Klaus Devore from Clausterphobia does everything from home. There are countless artist's out there who produce, edit, and finally master their own work from just 'bandcamp'. Klaus has turned his smell fanbase into lab-rates by taking ques from them and eventually he finds the perfect "sound". It's up to you David, but I'd kill to have your particular gifts. The text tears me apart, reminds me of my failed relationship with the love of my life... the rythm and this more optimistic tone like I feel when listening to "Space and Time" forces my parts to stay one. I hopew this makes sense somehow... LOL
Yes, I noticed this fact also, and I thought someone should maybe point this out to Ronan. He's no stranger to symphonic contributions, but the chorus is a very nice touch.
