For anyone else struggling to make this work: I did exactly as in this video, but with one change: the small black plastic wedge that fits between the two red-ish pieces was causing issues with the alignment, so I just kept it out. As far as I can tell the tripod works as it should now, though I'm sure the wedge is there for a reason so it's not ideal. But I was not able to get it to work properly with the black wedge in, so at least by leaving it out I was able to get it to work as it should. A very frustrating issue, but thank you Mohamed for the video, it was a big help!
@@Arman2Dito since my last comment I've noticed the little black wedge does have a purpose, difficult to explain but it holds the red metal components in place when lifting the central pole to put it into horizontal mode. without the wedge I have still been able to use my tripod, but there is a slight inconvenience and overall it feels slightly less stable when moving the parts. but once the tripod is locked into place with or without the black wedge doesn't seem to make a difference.
This collar is the same as the Manfrotto 190, and I too struggled to get it to go back. However, I stumbled upon the technique by removing the central column so I could see better: it goes back without the central column in place. Assemble the metal collar 'without' the central column - that way what is described here as a black plastic wedge won't protrude: it lies flush with the collar. This makes the assembled collar easy to slide in and turn into place. The tripod central column can be inserted afterwards by rotating the plastic ring (which shows as inverted 'U' - it has 2 positions in the collar, make sure it's upside down), and pressing the red button to enable it to slide into position. Then lock it all by putting the metal ring back on the base. Good luck.
Life saver! Was out in the woods just now and the thing just came apart when I was about to compose a shot close to the ground, by some miracle I managed to find the wedge, although I think I lost that ring ages ago, so this was a long time coming that it fell apart. Put it back together again, thank you!=)
What helped me is to put the little black wedge upside down (to make look it flat from the outside). Don’t know if this makes sense but specifically changing the little wedge position helped me to assemble tripod instantly. I did it without the main column being inside. I inserted main collumn at the end by pressing red button
I’m badly in need of help in fixing this. Would you be able to help. I some how inserted the neck in the wrong orientation and couldn’t remove it. Tried disassembling, but got struck. Would be of real help if you could. Thanks in advance
I found difficulties to fix it, cause i put reverse back dowh to the regular stup, so now icant put it out, like stuck, may i get advice from this case?
Hello, sir, have some problem for not smoothly open up (whole red parts by force pull and push) and after open up not moving around 360° softly, Please let me know can use any oiling or any thing for softness. Please guide me. I am waiting your reply. Thanking you.
Hello sir, I do not recommend using oil. Something must be interfering in the way, so you should fix that. How about starting everything over? I mean, you separate all parts and then put them back together? But you should be very cautious with small parts and to follow the steps precisely.
@@MohamedFadly Thank you, I appreciated for your immediate response, I just bought used like new, when I bought it (RED PARTS as your video, NOT PROPER FINAL STARTING POSITION) I am very scarring for separate all parts because I have only this tripod and I am using for photography and videography, I want to use this tripod option from center column for over head food photography, please if you have any good option to fix without separating all parts for work proper soft. I will really appreciate if you give me solution of it. Thanking you. Muhammad N.
One of the more frustrating fixes. Wish I could offer advice to those also trying to fix this, about 30 min of tinkering and referencing the video and the other comment and it worked at last
For anyone trying to do this and failing (like me), the trick is to not insert it aligned but so the little black thingy fits into a small recess (same width as black thingy), you then twist to align it like he shows in the video, shove it down all the way, but then you aren't done because the whole thing will move badly, you need to look from the bottom, that black thingy should now be visible at the bottom, press it with your finger to flip it into the correct position, after that it will work.
Hi Chanan, would you have a photo of what you mean. I can get it all back together but cannot get the horizontal function to work as it looks like the wedge is stopping it
@@steviebruce2520 Sounds like you did the first part. Read again carefully from the part where I said you aren't done yet. Sadly I did not take any images or make video of this, all I could do was describe with words.

I lost my wedge, good to know it can work without it.

This did the trick for me (along with the rest of the video), thank you so much!!
Thanks so much that was a very easy fix! Also, without damaging too much and with less effort and muscle power
So glad it helped
Thanks for the video. Still couldn't manage to put it back with the black wedge thing. Really frustrating issue.
Thank you very much for sharing this video. You‘ve saved me from a terrible situation in NYC!!!
👍👍👍
Yes I know how terrible it was. 😅 Glad it helped. 🤝

Glad you found it. I think it was nearly impossible to find it through the grass, dead leaves and dirt.
Glad too that my video helped. ❤️

Is there a way of completely removing the centre leg???
Never tried. But I think the answer is no.
If you are struggling to get it in, I used a flathead screw driver to push in the silver metal tab as I was putting the column in. It slid right in!
Very helpful, thank you!
Thanks It was very helpful to me
You are welcome 🙏
Thank you so much! Very usefull!

I love this tirpod. But this is a notable flaw. I spent 30 mins figuring this out and I damage the paint while doing it.
